I don’t really get the complaints about the RSC not putting on Shakespeare when they’ve done that for decades. I would like at least one per season otherwise its just the RC.

Last night was Lilias White and Billy Stritch at Crazy Coqs and in the audience was Linzi Hatley. Totally starstruck as I spluttered out I grew up their recordings and Linzi was in my first first West End show ...

"I am as left as luggage". I enjoyed this one. Great fun but a bit preachy in the second act and also about 10 minutes too long.
But great cast though

The Franklin one sounds great. Plus I'm really hoping for sondheim one - gig or semi staged musical I'd be very happy with

I asked when I attended Maria Friedman last week what was coming up next. They said they would be closing for refurbishment and nothing was scheduled yet. Didn't say how long refurbishment would take and I didn't think to ask. Did they what the refurb is ? The stairs and loos could do with some tlc. I can't help thinking the lobby could do with a rejig

Amazingly musically, I'm not sure if I've heard MF sound so good. Highlights - Piece of sky, Sunday and Merrily Overture.
It was the final show and MF was very happy but God she was such a braggart. To the point it really marred my enjoyment of the whole show.
Can I just say, in general we really don't get enough Ian McLarnon ... I'm going to start a petition!

Weren’t they supposed to be doing Pal Joey at some point? Yep. Scheduled for Crimbo 2020. Sad whats happening, I attended the final MF concert yesterday, initially I thought I had the wrong date or time as it looked shuttered and dark. Turns out I was punctual and the place just had zero atmosphere.

Yes I know who wrote what! I also know Piazza discounted and papered heavily. Both shows are produced by the same team, I wonder if Woods is destined to have an international tour like Piazza did?

Press night last night. Four stars from Theatre Weekly and Reviews Hub and a baffling one star from the Evening Standard. Oh dear! Nick Curtis -chief critic for ES - is not having a good time at the theatre at the moment with 1 star for Anyone can Whistle and now for Zorro. I could be wrong but is he also expected to review plays ? Papers should have separate critics as its a totally different field.

Baz said it would transfer to the WE when the Bath news was released. I wonder if it will though. with the exception of the recent Company Sondheim does not do well in the West End. plus the current climate and I suspect the producers lost a stack on the RFH light in the piazza

I really hope it's repeated sometime soon, as I didn't get to see it and it sounds amazing. It's still on a famous video sharing site.

Really? Im genuinely shocked this was filmed. My friends and I thought it was terrible and walked at the interval The show or the production? I enjoyed an amateur show a friend was in but won’t watch this if it will ruin my memory! The production at Park Theatre.

If anyone is wanting a traditional but excellent Gondoliers then the Scottish opera production currently at Hackney Empire is really good. Sounds and looks fab.
