Josie is fierce!
This weekend she was ut and 6 understudies were on and they cut the Vicki and Fatimah tracks as Courtney Bowman was on as Pritti. Chloe was on in the ensemble so not sure why she wasn't on as Pritti though it may have streamlined the tracks better.
Kirsti was on as Ray so that must have been fun, though Mina is AMAZING as Ray...

Is Josie Walker back yet? I know she has been out...love love love her and John!
I first saw Josie in Beautiful Game and thought she had the most amazing voice...she just gets better and better in everything i have seen her in, including Matilda!

Giles seems to be off a lot in the show. Is he will? Or is he having vocal problems? I wasn't sure about him because of the speech impediment but he certainly won me over.
Interesting that most people have issues with Sifisio as Burr....you would think they could get an amazing standby for that role.

Until an official announcement is made, it's all hearsay. If there is interest, it will transfer - probably for a limited engagement. Because of the themes of the show I'd say it would transfer over the summer and run through the New Year. A limited engagement and a vehicle for Sharon D. Clark, who is absolutely amazing in all she does.

I would think Friday night and Sat night are safe bets...I wonder if there will be a set schedule? Same with the alternate Tina Turner at The Aldwych?

The people who were DYING to see the show saw it in the first period and now it will be the punters who will be training it in from the midlands to see the show. It will sell out - it will just take some time.

Thought we had a thread for this but I can’t see one... I really liked this. Oliver Saville looks like a very handsome chap who works in the city, makes a lot of money and is charming but unhappy. He was a great Bobby Anita Louise Combe was a wonderful Amy, one of the best. Ashleigh Gray sang great but wasn’t old enough looking and unfortunately not monstrous enough for Joanne . Will anyone ever be as good as Sheila Gish? If I’m going to pick I would say the choreography and comedy could be stronger. The set was a angular white box with 6 entrances and centre stage was a black masculine leather sofa. Presumably a metaphor for a psychiatrists couch? It worked for me. Company can be a long show. Thankfully a lot of the voicemail and present chit chat was cut so it was quite lean. Is Tick Tock ever staged? It wasn’t here, musically it is dated. This production did not feel dated, timeless infact. To quote another Uncle Steve show “I’m so glad I came”
Bobby blew out the candles before singing Being Alive. So his wish was the content of the prayer like song. It really worked. Perhaps the best I’ve ever seen it
Anita Louise Combe was great in ragtime but does she read old for Amy. I could see her more for Joanne. Wasn't Ashleigh Gray an Elphaba? She would be better as Amy lol

Have just reluctantly returned my dress circle row K ticket for Thursday matinee if anyone is after a ticket! I was a call handler's dream. All my booking information ready and to hand, no loss of mobile signal, no calling on hands free so they miss every 5th word as I turn my head... I may have to do the same, sadly. What’s the correct number to dial.? I cant seem to find it... Thanks x

People are throwing shade at a 200 and 250 pound ticket and of course those prices are insane, but if you went for a nice dinner with drinks, dessert and perhaps went to a bar with friends after, you could easily drop 200 quid in a night...it's all about priorities. Those buying these tickets won't be passing on their swanky dinners beforehand or drinks, add them on to the price of a ticket and, by your reasoning, that's five hundred pounds gone right away. For a large percentage of the population, this kind of money is as far away from being thought of as small change as can ever be. It's a big % of our monthly wage. But all is OK because they have left a handful of tickets for ten pounds each performance for us to fight over... I totally understand but there are tickets for 100 pounds and less. Granted they aren't the best seats in the house. If someone wants to see the show, they have options to buy tickets for 37.50, 57.50 etc. Back in the day, Chicago at the Adelphi used to sell the front row in advance for 37.50 and it was a steal but that was also 20 years ago. Times have changed and the cost of producing shows have changed. Its about supply and demand...and 250 is still less than Broadway...

I think the drag queens work really well. Its important for them to be there, though the focus shouldn't be on them as this is Jamie's story and it would be bad to pull focus from that.
I still believe that "Wall In My Head" is the best new showtune of the year!

I don't think it's about hype - we have a skewed idea of what is popular and what isn't based on the theater crazies (myself included) who are on here. That is what I love about this board - we are all passionate about theater.
The only people who really knew about the new booking period would be people here on this board, people who perhaps read it on Whatsonstage and londontheatre.co.uk or who follow the show on twitter.
Most people on their board made it their business to see the show during the first booking period and probably don't feel the need to go back right away. Obviously the show will continue to sell out but its not the urgent ticket for most people as it was for people on this board.

Crap. That means I'm going to have to go and see it a bunch more times. That sound you can hear in the background is my Visa card weeping softly. You could see Follies 5 times for the price of one Hamilton ticket

I’d really like to see Claire Moore as Sally, Joanna Riding as Carlotta, and Sophie Louise Dann as Phyllis. Oh smashing, if danieljohnson14's theory is correct, the show will open on Monday and close by Friday leaving the theatre free for something else to come in. One of those nice plays by Bill Kenwright with Martin Shaw and/or Jenny Seagrove or something like that. If Jenny Seagrove is there, than so am I .

I don't think most shows will follow the example of Hamilton. Even broadway doesn't do Hamilton prices for other shows. It's just one of those things. Personally, I can justify anything if I want to see it. I always say that having an experience is more important....I don't need an expensive dinner or outfit but when it comes to theater, that is what is important to me. I guess it's about priorities.
They will price themselves out of the market though if it goes much higher
Do the premium tix at Book of Mormon sell?

Why is the front row of the royal circle £100 but everything else is £250 and £200? Is the front row restricted?

Inheard in December that it was planning a transfer to the Marble Arch Theatre following Five Guys Named Moe, so if that is true, or plans have changed, we will have to wait and see. I really liked it but i would think they;ll want to recast Marcus of it transfers

People on this board have seen this show 2,3 4 times etc so pricing does matter but most people will see this show once and yes - it is annoying when prices go up but we all have the choice whether to go or not. They can charge what they want - it's our choice whether to pay it or not.
If there wasn't demand and people didn't but the expensive seats, they wouldn't up the prices.

I would love to know when cast change will be, but I expect we won't know until later in the year. The closest Saturday to the start of previews will be 1 Dec, but given for the replacement cast auditions the ad said contracts starting in October I suspect cast change will be some time in mid to late November. Depends how much time the new cast need to rehearse - does anyone know how long they get on Broadway? I *believe* the first performance of the new cast is scheduled to be 26th November 2018, with rehearsals starting on/around 8th October 2018! Some cast members may be staying though. I’d be surprised is Jamael, Rachel and Rachelle left...
