Nope. Socks still firmly on. He was dull and lifeless and only goes to show how much personality Renee Elise Goldsbury put into the part. No question Renee is amazing but no one is comparing the two, love. Renee was playing a role and rehearsed with a director. This was a one off concert for charity and James did wonderfully and I loved it.

Pah. I want to see Mark Shenton tweet one of @parsley 's messages. Complete with sentence structure and line breaks Parsley writes in a Haiku style which is difficult with a limited number of characters. Also, throwing shade and negativity are hard to convey with limited space so Shenton could never retweet parsley.

I found the dad's relationship with Jamie VERY believable. Being gay isn't accepted by some and i felt that Jamie and the dad's scene was heartbreaking and I loved it. I'm sorry that you didn't get it...and it didn't work for you, but I was in tears. Good theatre elicits a response and I'm sorry yours was negative.

I'd imagine that this show will transfer for a a limited engagement in a small theater like the Harold Pinter or Duke of Yorks, and I'd think it would start in September and go through the New Year perhaps.

Do alternates typically start in the preview period? Ash started in previews for Hamilton so I think it just depends. Do we know which shows the alternate will be doing? Matinees?

Hamilton will win the Olivier (Though I think Jamie should win!) but hopefully John McCrea will win.
This show is the best of the year and I hope it extends again though Christmas as I want to get relatives multiple pairs for the holiday. And I need the cast recording ASAP!

The driver should go to jail for a very long time. She has a history of running red lights. She said she had a seizure and blacked out. Why should someone with a history of seizures be allowed to drive?

When describing the set in 3 words...what comes to mind is: black, minimal and chipped
I know on Broadway the break even is about 400-500,000 dollars. The break even in the West End will be less because the pay scale is less. Charing 150 pounds for a show that was at TKTS for every performance is chutzpah if you ask me!

It was made into an opera in New York. Don't think it would be a fosse musical with jazz hands but anything is possible...

The only way you can really know in advance if if you tweet Moya or Marisha. They are both super responsive. I would assume they'd know a few days in advance? or you could look at the Effie schedule on the Dreamgirls website, where you can find info for the next three Wednesdays www.dreamgirlswestend.com/ticket-information/#How fabulous. I didn't know that feature existed. I still don't know why Moya only gets two shows/week - she is amazing! LOL

Sorry if this has already been asked/answered but I've not been keeping up with the show or this thread recently. Is there anyway of telling who will be doing the Wednesday matinee and who's doing the evening show (out of Marisha and Moya) prior to the show starting? I've already seen Marisha and Karen and would like to see Moya's take on Effie, but Friday's aren't a good day for me to go to London. The only way you can really know in advance if if you tweet Moya or Marisha. They are both super responsive. I would assume they'd know a few days in advance?

I loved her in Billy Elliott - I was just commenting that someone said her voice was shot and I said even if that was the case, Mama isn't a hard sing. We aren't talking Effie White here...

I'm in tomorrow afternoon for the second time! Marsha Songcome is on as Eliza until tomorrow which makes it even more exciting I have heard she has a Swedish accent and it's odd when she plays Eliza. Has anyone seen her who can verify?

Mama isn't that hard of a sing and they stunt cast that role on Broadway all the time. I mean, Nene Leakes from The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Wendy Williams played that role. Ruthie may have shot her voice but she will still be fierce and better than many who have come before her.
I feel like Sarah as Roxie is a boring choice and a *yawn*. They will dumb down the choreography for her for sure. Josephina will be great but I do hope they don't put a black bob wig on her which a cop out and a safe choice.
I wonder if they are all contracted for a year? The Weisslers are cheap so probably got 4 month contracts and they will have revolving door like they do.

Is the hope that this will transfer to the West End by Christmas?
For those who have seen it, is it in good enough shape to come into town?

Josie is fierce!
This weekend she was ut and 6 understudies were on and they cut the Vicki and Fatimah tracks as Courtney Bowman was on as Pritti. Chloe was on in the ensemble so not sure why she wasn't on as Pritti though it may have streamlined the tracks better.
Kirsti was on as Ray so that must have been fun, though Mina is AMAZING as Ray...
