In fairness, I’m not sure many people would be too bothered by Steven Pinder playing both roles, there were people at my show who only realised it was the same person at the bows!

Any ideas/hopes as to who’s replacing Cuba?

Broke my heart that it was sold around Les Dennis (who I didn’t enjoy) because of his name despite the fact that Cameron Blakely was actually the lead performer and is one of the most talented people I can name. Stunt casting sucks sometimes But it got people in to see Cameron who possibly wouldn't have, surely a good thing? Depends. some people may decide to keep track of what he’s up to but from what I saw during the tour not many people mentioned him. When I was there the row behind me were talking about Les Dennis being the best there and they didn’t even mention him

I was thinking about The Addams Family the other day, and as much as I love the music none of it really makes any sense. Pugsley seems to be the only character in that show with any kind of logic.

Does anybody else think they’d get away with a stunt cast for Ogie? Not a huge sing and generally speaking I’d say it isn’t an overly tough pair of shoes to fill

We don’t even know if he’s in England yet. Even if he was, I highly doubt he’d fly all the way over here for a press event or anything along those lines

I think I may have sourced the issue with this show’s pricing after a discussion today. It’s a show that embodies diversity in its cast and creative team, but it isn’t made accessible for those who need to see it most. The people represented on stage who would gain lots more theatrical confidence from seeing it can’t because the pricing is too high. Coming from a rural and diverse area with a lack of frequent diversity in theatre, I feel like there’s a big mistake there. It is selling out at high prices, If it was cheaper would the tickets still get be bought by the same people? I am not sure price alone is enough to get them to the diverse audience. I’m not saying the same people wouldn’t buy the tickets, but it would be diluted by those on a lower wage who actually had an opportunity to buy a ticket that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. I know I’d try if they were cheaper.

In terms of regional venues, the Birmingham Hippodrome has really comfortable seats and I don’t think any of them have leg room issues. I’ve sat in the back row of the stalls and circle and both have been very comfortable (may not be wise to take my word on the leg room though as I am quite short)

I really really hope there’s truth to this, when people find out I’m interested in theatre one of the first replies is often ‘have you seen Thriller?’ or ‘Oh I loved Thriller’ and it drives me up the bloody wall

In terms of the musical it’s very much a lot of young people that know it well, not saying the original movie fans don’t either but it has quite a young cult following on the internet. And with Carrie’s addition lots more are introduced as well.

Considering a lot of the audiences for this show are probably teenagers and uni students I think people are within their right to be disappointed regarding prices. Darren Bell’s just tweeted something along the lines of ‘If you can’t afford it then don’t go’ and I can’t help but think the whole thing sounds very privileged.

I’ve only seen the show once and that was a few days ago on the current tour, so honestly I’d love to see a lot of the West End Elphie’s/Glinda’s. Rachel Tucker is an obvious one and I’d love to have seen Dianne Pilkington.

Carrie's fans seem to be the new Kerry Ellis fans. (Unfairly) seen as a bit of a laughing stock in the theatre world and all judged as being hysterical screaming banshees when it is a very tiny minority who act that way. This is a fair point, the ones on twitter who freak out are the ones who make the rest look awful, some of them actually seem like well rounded people

This whole thing is so poorly put together. Announcing it at 11pm with the tickets on sale the next day at 10?? If I was a member I wouldn’t be the happiest

Due to an ‘unprecedented’ number of people apparently. Rubbish if you ask me, they knew exactly how much demand there would be.

Back to a previous conversation, does anybody have any guesses as to who the rest of the cast will be? Heaven forbid that boy from Addams ends up as JD which I’m sure Carrie is desperate for

Something tells me there’s a new Duke then, I can’t imagine them clearly using a black/mixed race illustration and casting her, would cause uproar

Any predictions on the rest of the cast. Or will it mostly be a reprise of the workshop cast, minus Charlotte Wakefield and Amy Ross (unavailable due to Wicked tour) who was Duke in the workshop? If they stay true to their poster design there’s a POC playing her

Don’t get me wrong I do think she has a nice voice and a nice belt but her acting needs work and I don’t think she can reach that high, if they cut the high notes for her they’ll lose so much of the shows value
