I love me some Only Fools, its one of my old school favs, but do we have to musicalise everything that was ever on TV or in film? I get that every show is based on something for the most part, and some are successful, as well as wehaven't seen or heard anything about this one, but this isn't some mediocre film or TV show, this was legendary, and stands alone to this day. Why can't they just leave it as it was/is?! If this goes through it'll be a bit of a laugh and will definitely pull audiences in, but I get what you're saying. Realistically speaking you can't have Only Fools without the iconic jokes and scenes, I'm really interested to see if/how they attempt to do this.

The real question here is whether or not Uncle Albert gets a song called 'During The War'?

There's also bus tours you can do that essentially show you all of London and are pretty informative, good if you don't fancy finding things on foot!

If you're into history I reccomend the HMS Belfast, the ship itself is on the Thames from what I remember, and to explore the deeper parts there are a few ladders to climb up and down if you're able to do that!

If this doesn't come to Birmingham for a reasonable price I'll actually lose my mind 😂

This will be my first time seeing the show and I'm honestly so thrilled to have Helen Woolf as my first Glinda. Heard nothing but good about her.

Regardless of me actually being a fan of Carrie's, her fans are absolutely awful and I try to avoid being associated with them as much as I can

Has anyone booked to see the tour yet? I have a few shows booked already and I'm very excited! Had Birmingham booked the minute tickets went on sale!

The REP in Birmingham do £5 preview tickets for 14-26 year olds, granted it's not a theatre that holds the world's biggest shows but it's something, might be giving 101 Dalmatians a go with a friend

I can't lie and say the people in my drama group enjoy theatre I expect this is a really stupid question, but what are they studying drama for then? I ask myself that everyday! Drama in lower school is essentially an hour of mucking about, hence why people wanted to do it at GCSE. The school weren't strict enough with letting people into the course either, it's an absolute wreck.

Thank you all! I'm looking for some kind of job but that's a whole other story, I'll be sure to ask around at some of my locals

This might sound a bit ridiculous, can't be sure!
So I'm 14, in the 2nd year of a 3 year Drama GCSE (we started a year early for reasons I haven't been told) and I've been thinking a lot about how accessible theatre is for people in my position. I can't lie and say the people in my drama group enjoy theatre (I can name one that I'd actually see a show with, and even then it would have to be something very light, Les Mis is the most I could get away with at a push). For me it's my favourite place to be. It hit me the other day how expensive even local productions are for a teenager from a low income family, let alone shows in London.
What are your opinions on this? I can't tell if I'm being ridiculous or if there genuinely is a problem when a GCSE student doesn't have the ability to see even the cheapest shows. Surely there's some kind of discount programme out there that I'm missing out on?

This cast looks incredible, gutted at the prices though! £37 is the cheapest seat in my local, way out of my range at the moment! Is it really expensive anywhere else or is it just my lack of money in the bank making it look worse? It's generally expensive across the board. I think this is probably the most expensive tour that we've ever seen. Not only are the top prices on a par with London, the lowest priced tickets are a heck of a lot higher, and that's what bugs me. Charge £100 by all means if people will pay it, but with the cheapest seats pushing £40, so many people are alienated. I dread to think how high Lion King will push their prices when they tour again! Maybe to do with touring sets of kids? I can imagine that costs quite a bit

Caught this last night, the understudy for Tracy (Rosie O'Hare) was truly fantastic. Not a complaint about the whole show, the audience were cheering after every song and there was a very enthusiastic standing ovation. Really reccomend seeing this if you can!

How good are the tours in terms of merch? It'll be my first time and I have absolutely no idea how much they'll have compared to the website.

Seen nothing but good about Scott Paige as Fester, I do feel like they took Les purely based on his name. Scott was one of the standouts in the cast for me. I haven't seen Les in the role to be able to comment on that one but would they really need his name? I feel given the other cast members it probably would have sold just as well. I thought Les was fairly weak as Fester, not awful just not amazing. I do think Carrie and Sam's names sold the show well but him thrown into the mix probably helped.

With the whole Fiyero announcement, I think they panicked when it got leaked and weren't prepared enough, but I'm not sure what they're like with casting announcements so who knows

Maybe Carrie Hope Fletcher will get her chance to do Elphaba, considering Addams Family ends in November. Just a thought. Addams ends in December, they have a Singapore run! Plus she's really done her voice in as Wednesday, breaks on the high notes sometimes

Signs up in the theatre saying both Les and Carrie are off. Scott Paige is on for Fester as usual and Kirsty Ingram is on as Wednesday.

I know she doesn't go some nights because the company ask her not to, they managed Chitty too I believe which was quite brutal at points. Somebody even threatened to attack her a few days ago, I wouldn't want to go in that situation

Carrie said that she got the part of Nancy in Oliver but turned it down because Truly in Chitty was a longer run. That's very professional of her. Not! Rampant egotist. Somebody in the chat mentioned it, Scott Paige who she was with said she'd be good in the role, she said quite quickly that she'd got it, explained the situation and moved on. It's not like she made a whole video on it.

The tour doesn't start til January. The tour will sell tickets on the name of the show alone. It's selling ok (I assume?) and no casting news has come out so far. Only a very small percentage of touring audiences will know who this woman is. Will announcing it sell more tickets than would be sold anyway? I doubt it. Can't see an official announcement coming soon, unless they have an ace up their sleeve. We got tickets for Birmingham in April, I didn't book them myself but the person who did said a lot of the seats were gone. I reckon this has to do with it being half term as well though.

Safe to say I wasn't expecting her as Elphaba (she was in the Heathers workshop as HC right? I'm predicting a full transfer with that cast) but I have high hopes!

Honestly the amount of people I saw saying that nobody could ever beat Willemijn was huge, but quite a lot of those people seem to have taken it back now.

This thread is quite inactive, but in a liveshow Carrie said that she got the part of Nancy in Oliver but turned it down because Truly in Chitty was a longer run. The liveshow is called 'Farewell London' I believe, it's on her second YouTube channel.

Alice seems to be doing amazingly as Elphaba, seen quite a few people saying they prefer her to Willemijn which I definitely wasn't expecting!

My latest casting assumptions/predictions: Elphaba - new casting Glinda - Suzie Mathers Fieyro - Oliver Saville Morrible - Kim Ismay Wizard/Dillamond - new casting Nessa - Emily Shaw Boq - new casting Elphaba Standby - Jessamy Stodart. Would love to see Oliver as Fiyero and Suzie as Glinda would be amazing. Still desperate to know Elphaba, any ideas on who the new casting for her could be?
