Whatever a bergamot is, it hasn't reached North Wales yet! It's a citrus, like a cross between a lemon and orange but more bitter. It's also what makes Earl Grey tea taste like Earl Grey tea. Thank you. I shall check them out next time I'm in Rhyl Aldi!

According to Boots the Chemist in Islington, men today wish to leave the shower smelling of either "Lemon and Lime," "Orange Zest," "Marshmallow" or "Unicorn."* What the heck is wrong with a man simply wanting to leave the shower smelling of "man who knows he has to shower at least once a day to be civilized"? *For the record, I shall whiff of the other alternative - "bergamot and sea minerals" for the foreseeable, as it was on special offer and the least weird I could find. Least weird?? At least I know what Lemons, limes, marshmallows and unicorns are. Whatever a bergamot is, it hasn't reached North Wales yet!

I always have a hot meal at lunch time if going to the theatre in the evening, then a light snack an hour or two before the show. Hate sitting in a theatre on a full stomach. Otherwise, no later than 8pm for me, too. At least you can always pick nits off the person sitting next to you if you get a bit peckish!

Les Mis is not a show that tends to be star driven- they put great musical theatre performers into it and some with profile when needed, but the show isn't driven by star casting per se. Also, outside London, I'm not sure how many people are driven by casting as a reason to buying tickets- musical theatre fans such as us on here are obviously interested and will buy for specific people, but they don't represent the majority of the audience.... supported by the fact that shows are selling out without any cast being announced. Also, again, it may not be that the producers don't want to, there could be loads of reasons why they aren't yet in a position to announce the full company and maybe they feel they don't want to announce anything until they have everyone. This. Your regular punter in Manchester neither knows or cares who is in it. It would have to be an Alfie Boe level of celebrity to even raise an eyebrow. The expectation is that it will be of a high standard but names? Nah. I have a group of 6 coming to the tour, these are people who see WAY more musicals than most. It would be fair to say they are “engaged”. They’ve all paid their £60 ticket money, and not one person has asked who is in it. The Killian announcement is, I think, an example of “feeding the beast”, the beast being the industry and the sort of people who follow WOS press releases and visit us here for news. Absolutely. My friends will ask 'Have we seen any of these before?' or 'Is the bald bloke we saw in Rent and Miss Saigon in it?' (Ryan O'Gorman is very popular with our group).

Given the stance in 'The Dance of Death' one, I'm rather glad they're self adhesive now!

Problem is, because he calls himself Thatcher Joe, he looses as many votes as he gains! That is because he used to be a thatcher to earn a living. Last year, he demonstrated thatching techniques to Prince Charles... So did he used to work at the Belgravia Hair Clinic for Follically Challenged Men...?

At Titanic in Liverpool on Saturday a group of 4 in front of us, 2 30something males, older man and similar woman. Drinking beer during both halves ( not a problem) fidgety and talking ( irritating but bearable). 2nd half older man falls asleep to be woken by the load bang on stage but then gets his phone out. I leant forword and asked him to 'turn it off please' then wondered if i'd done right. He did put it away but i got a bit of a glare apparently especially at the curtain call.

Absolutely loved this production at Liverpool last night. Was a delight to hear the very classical voices singing the wonderful big melodies in the ensemble numbers. Some fabulous soprano voices cutting through. Felt it was reminiscent of the 50s and 60s musicals with the occasional nod to the likes of My Fair Lady and Carousel. Was great to see and hear many more 'mature' actors on stage as well.

Some of the cast were on the Chris Evans Breakfast show on Radio 2 this morning. Not sure who as I only caught a snippet of it.

I saw a couple in full Pirates of the Caribbean costume while I was walking to the cinema yesterday, clearly Saturday night is peak fancy dress party time... Hi guys, also in town for theatre weekend! there’s a film and comic convention on at the convention centre, which is why there are so many people wandering around in costume. So disappointed! Was hoping this was normal for Manchester.

Adrian Lester as Bobby spent the evening drinking spirits, smoking pot, taking coke, visiting friends, clubbing and dating woman. All activities associated with having a good time it was clear he wasn’t having a good time but he was going through the motions, just like all Bobby’s do Yet another night when Baz has no news Does he club them before or after dating them...

The current Broadway cast are all American, apart from Mark Evans who is Welsh but moved to the USA several years ago so I don't think counts for Equity swap purposes. If you're thinking of the original cast, who were all British, they were only allowed to do the first 6 months of the run. Mark Evans is also engaged to an American, so I'm thinking he may be here for a while! ...and they've got a dog..

Mooching around Amazon, I came across two books by the above author. 'Les Miserables, History in the Making' and 'The Complete Book of Les Miserables'. Both are from around the same time. What is the difference between them please. Is one worth getting more than the other (or are neither worth it?)

Never call an EMO a Goth as they can get very upset. I once knew someone who tagged every photo at an EMO band CD signing as goth 1, goth 2 etc just to wind the EMOs up. Is that the line they cut from Nobody's Side??

I’m getting fitter and fitter with this football lark. It’s not inspired me to go out and play; with bugger all else on the telly except for repeats of Kirsty and Phil or Davina reuniting Long Lost Families, I’ve taken to going out for an evening walk. The sun’s still shining and the streets are calm and peaceful... Have you moved to Wales?

Went to the cinema to watch Matthew Bourne's Cinderella. When we arrived there were other people in our seats - the woman got quite gobby about it, despite us saying we'd all move two seats, but if anyone came for those seats they'd have to move. Ten minutes in she's still furiously whispering to her partner. Turns out they were in the wrong screen altogether. You would have thought that when the title came up on the screen it was the first clue they were at the wrong movie, never mind when the ballet started, but they still felt the need to have a discussion about it. So they were gone. Then a whiff of something fishy came to me. A woman was eating sushi whilst resting her bare feet on the top of the chairs in front of her.*..sighs of relief all around...*

Not a cast recording and definitely a little bit niche, I rediscovered a CD in my collection recently called American Brass (on Spotify), the brass section of the LSO from quite a few years ago, playing pieces by Bernstein, Copeland and others. They play Symphonic Suite from West Side Story and the virtuosity of the playing is quite staggering, amazing ranges and dynamics. The finale, Somewhere, makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. As I said, a bit niche but worth a listen if you're looking for something a bit different. (and a brass lover like me!)

I'd be more inclined to splash out occasionally (only in warm weather - I don't see the need for ice cream much of the year in the UK) if the flavours weren't so boring and familiar. You can bet they will be chocolate, strawberry and vanilla, and if there is anything slightly less hackneyed it will only be of the caramel/ginger variety - nothing really interesting, unusual or tempting. I've had lovely regional ice cream when on holiday in the UK, such as orange-and-mascarpone, but not a glimpse of anything so refreshingly different in theatres. The Palace has: chocolate (Belgian or not Belgian... you choose) stawberry vanilla honey and ginger treacle eton mess mint choc swirl salted caramel Surely something there to tempt you from you self imposed ice cream embargo showgirl ? I’d put you down as an eton mess type, or maybe a treacle? I believe other Northern theatres, particularly those in Yorkshire, stick with the more traditional 'gravel' flavour. (With real gravel)

Bought a secondhand copy of "Razzle Dazzle" on Amazon Marketplace for £1. Arrived today. In better condition than many "new" books I've been sold. Very pleased. Also got a nice mention in the Sunday Times Money section yesterday. #chuffed. As a teenager, I got hold of a secondhand copy of 'Razzle' once. Don't recommend that........
