I've been watching men steam clean the WMC all day....it's oddly entertaining...and quite precarious looking. If 'steam clean me WMC' isn't a euphemism then nothing is............

Yes, seen him sing these live. He's fantastic. I'm not sure if there's anyone I am still desperate to see. Will think ... Good ole' Bryn. He is fantastic live, I've seen him in concert a few times. It's a shame the Faenol festival he ran in North Wales is no more, it was a fantastic event.
However a fairly well known Broadway actor described him as 'a lesbian in a leather duster' in Sweeney Todd. Which while an amusing description does mean I have to slightly dislike said actor for being disrespectful to one of our national treasures.
Remember the Faenol festival he ran. Recorded an early one off Radio 2 with Bryn, David Shannon and Claire Sweeney. Almost wore the tape out in my car until some sh*t nicked the stereo.

I watched Bryn Terfel's 50th birthday concert a couple of years ago on Sky Arts. I wasn't taken by any huge operatic numbers but by two traditional songs he sang, 'Shenandoah' and a traditional Welsh air, 'My Little Welsh Home'. A friend of mine was there and said it was a mesmerising performance of the pieces, very emotional. I'd love to hear him singing them live (as a proud Welshman!).

In complete honesty, taking humour aside, I don't really believe in labels at all. Or sexuality for that manner. I believe we are all human and we can all be attracted to anyone at any time. No one is 100% gay, no one is 100% straight. That's just the truth. Ever had a mancrush/girlcrush? That's even 99% straight then haha. I'm very easy going on the whole labels thing. Call me whatever you want, I don't care. As long as there is good intentions, I'm not gonna be a dick about it. Prefer 'knob' to 'dick' though.......

Was on screen in a Welsh language film shown on S4C 20ish years ago about a man (Tom Jones??) who was one of a number of Welsh miners who took part in the Spanish Civil War. The brass band I played in led his homecoming parade in the film, shot at a temperature of around 0°C in driving snow!!

Saw it last night for the first time (other than the dvd). Loved it, visually spectacular, superb singing and convincing portrayal of characters. Joreen was on as Kim. Was very impressed with her. Ryan O'Gorman's Bui Doi was worth the ticket price alone. The orchestra was exceptional as well. Ashley Gilmour, Red Conception and Marsha Songcome all gave excellent performances along with the ensemble.

Thank you so much for your answers! I will try the student discount. Does anyone know how long the show is including the interval? Running time: Approximately 2 hours and 35 minutes including one interval. - From the Birmingham Hippodrome website.

Miss Saigon in Brum on Thursday. Seems like alternates are on this week in some roles. Anyone know who I'm likely to be seeing?

Has anyone heard why the producers cancelled the Llandudno leg of the show? There was no specific reason given in the email received from the theatre.

John Owen-Jones in concert in sunny Rhyl!! If you are in the vicinity of Blackwood, South Wales on Tuesday, go and see him. He was brilliant, great program wonderfully sung. His rapport with the audience was excellent with a Grobanesque line in self-depracation!

Just had an email stating that the Venue Cymru leg (Llandudno) has been cancelled at the request of the producers. No other reason stated. Refunds will be forthcoming in the next 10 days.

Not a show soundtrack, but two cds I keep returning to are Josh Groban's 'Stages' and Colm Wilkinson's 'Stage Heroes'. Brilliant orchestrations on both discs.

Hi All. First post for me (although I'm a long time lurker on the very old Dress Circle board).
Went to see my local society's (Llangollen Operatic) performance of 9 to 5 last night in the town. It was an absolute blast from start to finish. 100% enthusiasm and commitment from everyone on stage and off, and no shortage of good vocal performances either! It was a delight watching people were at school with your children, live close to you, are friends of friends, go to the same shops/pubs as you all giving their all on stage. The cast were school age to pensioners, many having come through the junior society first (including my daughter). I had as much enjoyment from it as many pro productions I've seen.
Hats off to the local amateur societies!!
