Continuing the theme, I downloaded Benny Anderson's Piano album today. The final track is 'I Gott Bevar' Let's hope he doesn't make that into a musical.... But it IS from a musical... it's the final song in "Kristina fran Duvemala" where she takes more time to die than the average opera diva... Dread to think what she died of with that title....

ATG have just responded to my enquiry stating that priority booking for ATG card holders for Palace Theatre opens at 9am tomorrow morning.

Just booked seats for Josh Groban here in December. Managed to get floor level seats but having only ever been to one arena gig before (Echo Arena) I'm not sure if floor level are better than upper levels despite being more expensive. Secured front of block G. Anyone have any experiences of the Arena please?

Two new ones for me this evening at Blood Brothers in Manchester. A girl three rows in front with a bun so tall it's right in my sightline and just had someone loudly break wind near the end of Act 1. It was probably Mickey... Nope, wasn't him (according to his tweet!)

A very clear and unequivocal announcement does need to be made at the start of the show. These people are convinced they are entitled to sing/dance during the show. If anyone complains they simply refuse to accept they are behaving badly. It needs to be made incredibly clear to them that this is not acceptable. My directions to these sorts of people are usually firm but fair...along the lines of “shut the f@ck up roughneck, I’ve paid good money to hear them sing not you. If you want to do karaoke p£ss off back to Pontins!” But I’m not very nice so that’ll be why. 😈 You're very welcome at one of my dinner parties anytime!

On a more sensible note, is there any update if/when ATG card holders priority sale may begin for Manchester. I've just received my first ATG card and was expecting to be inundated with emails about all sorts but nothing at all as yet.

We're all at it! Still, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. And you may want to edit your post, TM. I think you've missed an h out. Nearly spat water over my pc
(Also giggles childishly at BB saying 'gets tighter as you go back....')

So, that rumour turned out to be true. Same source says they’re planning West Side Story too. Easter 2019 How many attempts at casting do we think they'll have.....?

Saw this in Manchester on Thursday last week with Tom Hier on as Chris. Lovely voice but felt his acting seemed a little 'inhibited' compared to Ashley Gilmour's. Joreen Buatista was on as Kim as when I saw it in Birmingham and her voice seems to have matured. She was even better than before. All the remaining cast were superb again. Stalls were very full.

Will the ATG card allow you to book more than 4 tickets on priority booking but just provide any financial benefits (booking fees etc.) on 4 of those? Or can you only book 4 tickets with each ATG card. Or can you book any number of priority tickets (subject to maximum vs group booking obviously).

I’ve just been prompted to remember how I dealt with some bad behaviour at a Will Young concert at Wembley some years ago... Middle-aged woman and her twenty-something daughter kept talking to each other. Commenting on the songs, the dancing etc. Like they were at home on their sofa. Didn’t stop. A few disapproving looks behind didn’t seem to work... Now I was just a teensy weensy bit bored (Annas’ choice of show, not mine) so I decided to turn myself all the way round in my seat and face them. They looked at me, shocked and said, “What?” And I said, “Well you won’t stop talking, so what you’re saying is obviously a lot more important than what’s going on on the stage.” At first I think they thought I was joking, and that I might turn around again. But I didn’t. I just kept watching them. They stopped talking but I wouldn’t turn round. The mother says, all indignant, “Turn around!” And I said, “No, I’m a bit bored so I want to listen to what you’re saying...” They became incredibly uncomfortable but... they did SHUT UP! I turned round. Ta da! ( I agree that you can only do it if you’re not that fussed on the actual performance.) .. and a little teensie bit unstable........ (You're my new hero you are!!)

Should anyone need any help with the definition of Northern............. Old Australians love tripe and onions too. And don't forget to add some chopped curly parsley. Yum, yum! I know some of Parsley's posts can be a bit antagonistic but surely this is a bit strong..................

I'm a recent convert to tripe It has genuinely been one of my favourite foods since childhood. I'll happily eat it raw, but it's even better cooked in milk with onion, then you add cornflour to thicken the 'sauce'. Delicious!!! Should anyone need any help with the definition of Northern.............

I'm looking forward to the staging mainly, and the new script. They're the reasons I'm going. I doubt the actual performances will entirely convince because there is so much miscasting/mismatching of actors, given the motley crew they've been left with.
Poor Murray backing out was the final straw! Well that's going to be an interesting vocal experience! Nikki Sixx as Florence or Svetlana?? (and strictly it's Mötley Crüe)

Not another brass bander, surely? Once upon a time (tenor horn - if I can say that without starting off @theatremonkey et al). Not played for ages but still like to keep up with what's going on. Tenor horn then baritone for me. Did some percussion in the last few years but no longer play.

3 friends of mine attended Wicked in Liverpool on Saturday night, had the show ruined for them by the people in the row behind eating, using phones, chatting, and singing along. I assume they were also drinking as before the interval one (or more) of them vomited!. The ushers cleaned it up during the interval but, to my friends' dismay, they were allowed back for the second half. Not sure yet how that turned out. My friends complained to theatre management, but again I'm not yet sure how that concluded. An update after speaking to one of the party last night. The group behind were pi$$ed when they arrived, the vomiter didn't realise she had been sick until a woman next to her informed her when she returned to her seat after re-stocking with snacks at the interval. She was told that she had vomited on my friends coat but offered no apology. The evening was completely ruined. The theatre (or ATG, not sure which) have offered two tickets for one of four specified shows as recompense. However, none of the shows appeal to my friend and they are only Monday to Friday tickets which doesn't help due to work commitments. They have since requested dry-cleaning costs for the coat.
Anyone have any further suggestions for complaint other than to keep contacting ATG?

Well, I live (some of the time) in West Hollywood, a fairly up to date community in Los Angeles, and none of the supermarkets there have self-checkout machines. Literally none. It may have something to do with the fact that supermarket employees there are unionized. Or it may not.
Come to think of it...in all my trips to the US I have never encountered a self-service machine. I read that initially as un-ionized and thought it was some new weird American cosmetic treatment.
