Off topic, but has anyone ever sat at the end of row B of the stalls? My sister is coming over in June and we're thinking of buying seats for the slips in that row, but I've never sat that close to the stage for Wicked, and the last time I sat in the 'slips' of the front row it was for Cursed Child and I didn't really have an issue, but they obviously don't have the staircases at the side of the stage.

Ive been twice now and have never seen anyone handing out the keep the secrets badge. Third time lucky for June! I totally missed it the first time, they only seem to stand at the main doors, so if you're coming down the side staircases from the balcony, then you're likely to miss them.

I've just checked and all three of mine are left wings, so maybe they do give them out again after part 2? I'll make sure to ask next month.

I was going to suggest the July 22nd one over on the Wicked thread. It can still attract non Wicked attendees aka the glued to the same table crew Yes, the group that came last time was fabulous, I'm sure we can drag them out again (@ryan , andrew , Sam and James... your names are awkward to tag!) and daniel to name but a few). and we can get newer members (ala martello736 and others) to come along too... will be fabulous!
I'm not here for the cast change; I bugger off back home for the summer around the 27th June

I go by myself to shows like 90% of the time because I can't be bothered waiting on my friends to finally decide to see a show, and most of them aren't big into the theatre in general - and I usually only see shows with friends if we book well in advance, and lately I've been buying mine on the day or a few days before. I personally like being care free and going myself, without having to worry about someone else. Now, if someone else wants to take me and pay for my ticket then that's a different story.I agree. Why wait for others to make up their minds? If others don't want to go, I'll go on my own. When I worked in central London, I would decide I wanted to see something and turn up at the box office or try TKTS and just go! There has literally been days where I've been bored and thought 'feck it, I'm going to see a show'. One day I was on the tube on my way to the library at 9:30 and decided I wanted to day seat for Lion King - now you can't really do that if you're dragging someone else behind you

Helen Mirren as Morrible would be great, I think Morrible, The Wizard, Nessarose, Boq and maybe Fiyero could be cast with big names and have Elphaba and Glinda played by people who are either unknown or semi known. Beauty and the Beast showed the potential of how to do a musical with a huge budget and you can bet Universal ain't going to skimp on Wicked. I suspect Dillamond will be motion capture but I think the others could done with makeup and prosthetics. I'm here for Helen Mirren as Morrible! I would rather they took someone who had previously played Elphaba or Glinda on to play the two leading roles though, as oppose to someone like Emma Watson, whose autotuned BATB songs still annoy me, or someone else chosen for their fan base.

Just seen it. Too tired to put my thoughts down and I will only post vague things here and head to the spoiler thread when I do. One thing though, after Part One I got a keep the secrets badge as there was a man with a big box of them. I thought I'd get another one after Part Two but no man/woman with a box to be seen. Maybe I should have picked up two the first time. Long story short, if anyone's going in the future and could pick me up a left hand one, that'd be amazing. I've seen it twice now, and they've only ever given them out at the end of part one, though I guess if you ask for one at the end of part two they might give you one. I'll make sure to see if they're handing them out at the end of part two when I'm seeing it in June with the new cast.

Saying you cannot have a fair judgement if you are sitting in a cheap seat is bogus. People who sit is a cheap seat and even then they've might had to splash out, generally really appreciate the theatrical piece more, like marriages where people had to scrimp and save are the ones that tend to go the distance, because they had to work at it, so appreciate what they got - people who have everything on a plate, what they have has no value so therefore meaninless, people who sit in expensive seats can also have a smug entitlement. I'm a student, who usually sees a show a week right now (sometimes even three shows in a week when I have the time and can get a few bargains, but that's pretty rare), I generally don't pay above £20 for a ticket. I always buy the cheapest seats and have just started doing day seats - so I can totally agree with this. My experience of Wicked from the £18 hasn't changed how I feel about it compared to when I've seen it from seats retailing at £70. I saw 42nd Street from the front row of the balcony (so a £15 seat), and still fell in love with this show.

I'm going to hold off on buying tickets then and just day seat it Same with me as I don't imagine the queue will be too busy for this Yeah, it shouldn't be too bad, and I don't really want to spend more than that anyway, as I'm pretty much only seeing it for Miranda. I wonder if TodayTix will be offering rush tickets for this as well.

And also, I really need to remember to use that snapchat filter at the theatre for the show, I have never used it (and shameless plug here, add me on snapchat: danieldavid14) Hold up, there's a Snapchat filter? You mean I've been snapping without knowledge of this filter? I only know about The Lion King one

Whatever you think of Carousel, You'll Never Walk Alone is an emotional moment - until out comes the phone of the person in front, lighting up the Dress Circle .... She repeated it during the reprise at the end, at which point I twigged she was probably recording. At the curtain call, no pretence whatsoever, she was blatantly filming the whole thing. Much like the woman beside me at Lion King last month who recorded part of the show, only for her recording to play itself back to her at full volume. I don't recommend doing it, but if you're going to do it, please be a bit more discreet...

The issue here isn't who is better or who is worse, the issue here (for me!) is we are being criticised for saying Alice doesn't sound right in this specific audio, being told it is wrong to judge by audio, but this member has the right to make a YouTube video critisicing actresses he hasn't even seen, based solely on audios, who thinks its ok to judge his favourite actress on one audio.
And I'm not saying that to be shady, because I like you haha, but I'm not ok with being told not to judge based on one audio but the same member can judge several actresses in a very public video. That's not ok with me.
I wasn't saying anything bad about anyone i hadn't seen though! I was saying i liked all there voices, that's not really judging, I like Cynthia Erivo's voice but i haven't seen her live, it doesn't make a difference... I really don't see what's wrong with listening to an audio and saying that you're not a fan of that actress' interpretation of a song. Yeah, I've never seen Alice, but I only said I wasn't a fan of her NGD in comparison to Rachel. Now, if you look a few pages back, you'll see that I said I prefer Willemijn's 'The Wizard and I' much more than Rachel's, and I'm a massive fan of Rachel's. It's personal preference at the end of the day. Yeah, I haven't seen Alice, but going off the audio, that's my opinion; it's based as much on the direction she took the song to in that audio as much as it was on the sound of her voice.

It's EU Law, I wouldn't even be doing it if it wasn't necessary to get an LLB.
I took a day off last year to see Adele; can't complain, I ended up at the very front of the stage and got to hold her hand (yes I died).
I'm thinking of trying to get tickets either for Friday (maybe try the TodayTix lottery) or get a ticket for next Friday? (I'm holding Wicked off until my last exam on the 25th)

With No Good Deed, it really shouldn't be that type of scream-shouting. Please tell me that's not how she usually does it?
I like my NGD to sound like this:

Anyone wanting to see Marisha, Dreamgirls just tweeted her next scheduled shows are: 15th, 29th and 30th May.
Again, little bit shady they didn't do the same tweet with Karen's date. Trying to work out my post-exam shows, so I might try and see Marisha, as I'm yet to see Dreamgirls (don't kill me, it's next on my list people! - which effectively means I'll see it by next weekend)

Now... I know the scene is meant to be angry but I can't believe she's getting away with *that* angry! Why so many growls?! It's very offputting and just isn't for me I'm afraid.... Not going to lie, I don't like listening to recordings of performers before going to actually see them for the first time, so I've never listened to any of Alice's stuff. No Good Deed is one of my favourite songs, and I really don't like this rendition of it - not at all.
If y'all could literally have seen my facial expressions while listening to that...

I wonder what the legality of all this is? Like, could Wicked/Michael McCabe/whoever sue them for chatting crap? My knowledge of law is very limited so I'm not quite sure if that's a thing. To be honest, I haven't studied enough in that area of law to really give any kind of proper assessment of it. You're probably looking at a cease and desist letter, though to be honest, there's so many of those 'fan accounts' around that I don't think they would really bother, unless there's a precedent and they've taken action before.

Not at the dates are on sale yet (I'm still waiting on them to announce when they're releasing the rest of the dates) and I know of people who are already finding return tickets and have bought some for December - just keep checking the Ticketmaster website.

I definitely feel like (at least at the performances I saw) Willemijn is much stronger at 'The Wizard and I' than Rachel is, whereas Rachel is much stronger at 'No Good Deed' than Willemijn. It's interesting to see how certain songs fit different performers. The big thing I took away from Willemijn's performance was that she plays the more awkward side of Elphaba more apparently than Rachel did. I still much preferred Rachel though, but Willemijn is brilliant in her own right.

I haven't seen Alice yet (don't kill me pls), but as someone who's only seen Wicked a handful of times (trying not to repeat too many shows atm so I can get as many in before I go home for the summer as possible), I found it really interesting comparing how Willemijn performs to Rachel.

So should I try and see Robert Fairchild in this or is Ashley Day just as good? I've only seen Ashley, so can't comment on Robert, but I didn't even catch on that he was the alternate until I was home again; so I certainly wouldn't not go and see it, just because it's Ashely and not Robert

Saw Ashley Day last night as Jerry. He was really good and had a great rapport with Leanne Cope. What a talented guy he is; great singer, dancer and actor and so handsome. The whole production is very enjoyable and worth it's extravagant reviews. The only downside was Jane Asher. I've always thought she was a rather limited actress, but she was even worse than anticipated - absolutely terrible French accent. I saw this for the first time last night and loved it, but her accent was the only major downside for me. I was in the queue for the bar during the interval and the couple behind me were talking about her, "I don't think she's been on yet, maybe she makes a cameo at the end?". I was tempted to turn around and say she was the one 'with the accent'. Ashley Day was playing Jerry last night, and I thought he was great :]

Pillars aside, that stalls isn't bad, aine. You will be. The stalls seats that are £10 (granted they're all that are left) are all behind the pillars, but I picked one that's not directly beside it. Honestly don't mind where I'm sitting though, I just want to see Imelda again - priorities
