Jazz Hands are what the wizard does on the I could be Wonderful line just before the monkeys are set free. Rachel hasn't done this either never before or since her first West End run. And you know she's never ever done it before how? Because she said to one of my friends at SD that she never realised she was supposed to do it

Forgive my ignorance but what's the jazz hands? No idea - I was there tonight and she didn't do anything remotely like jazz hands at any point in the show. Well then, you must not of noticed.

I don't know if my body, mind and soul will be able to deal if Rachel pulls that 10th Anniversary final note in "Defying Gravity" again. I reckon she might!

As to the sound, last Saturday we had some feedback in TWAI and NGD, Rachel dealt with it well, she just moved herself a bit and the feedback stopped

Did you do any riffs? Yes. Powerful riffs. As good as I was, my voice wasn't very powerful unless I was riffing. 😋 Love that reference to my post Rachel is powerful when she's on fire, Having seen both, Alice is louder(more power)

As much as I strongly object the taking of these clips, Alice appears to have improved massively and her acting looks great. Singing is really good too. She's no Rachel when it comes to power and the high F is a little Scratchy, but I'd prefer to see her over many other recent lead Elphabas/standbys Rachel's High F was a little scratchy too at the matinee, I've seen both live and from the front row Alice has more power and is louder than Rachel INO

Not trying to start the drama again, but I don't like those clips. I mean, obviously she can sing, but she sounds boring (in my opinion). And I'm not saying that because of the lack of riffs. I just feel there's something missing. Of course I've never seen her live so I can't judge her after seeing just two videos. She's great live! My fave

For me, Nikki Davis-Jones is the greatest Elphaba ever. That's my opinion. You can disagree with me, I'll tell you that you're wrong but that's fine. I could list you a ton of reasons why I think Nikki is the greatest (I won't bore you now) but that's still just my opinion. Well I can't disagree. And please, bore me! That's exactly how I feel about Alice and Emma! Like most of you feel about Rachel. We all have our opinions and preferences

Right I know I'm preaching to the converted for the vast majority of you, but can we get a few things straight already? Every actress who ever played Elphaba can sing. They can all belt. And do it well, else they never would have been cast in the role. Emma, Rachel, Alexia, KRJ ( ), all of them. They all brought something different and unique to the role. Now the important point - the (often subtle) difference between fact and opinion. This is why it drives me mad when people shoot down other people's opinions. If someone thinks Emma/Alice/Natalie/whoever are the best in the role, that's fine but don't go telling other people that their favourites aren't the best. Equally, we have to look at the facts here. All of the Elphies are different. There's different qualities in their voices. Yes NDJ was my favourite, but there's no way her voice is the most powerful. You just have to listen to them all and it's clear that Rachel has the most power behind her voice. You can hear it in her previous roles too. It's not even opinion, it's truth plain and simple there to see (and hear). They all have power, but Rachel is just another level. Jennifer DiNoia is probably the next most powerful, but I never saw her live so am purely basing this off of YouTube clips. Anyway, I feel like I'm rambling now. The point being, for goodness sake play nice! I love this. ALTHOUGH, I would say that Willemijn and Jenny both have more powerful belts than Rachel Sorry. I agree Martello Rachel can belt and she is powerful just not as powerful as others, now i know what i was trying to say aha

I love that this person who so publicly claims to not be a fan of Ms Tucker and who was only at the show yesterday to see Carinna, felt the need to pose for a photo with Rachel and put it on Twitter "so good to see these two together...." I am a fan. Just not a huge fan, it was good to see them. I love them both as people. I love Carina's Glinda!

I've never given Rachel anything. I might get her a card on the 28th but that's it. Anyone meeting up on the 28th fancy going to the stage door? We must tell Rachel you have been slating her performance so that she can rip your card up in front of you before riffing with power. I love Rachel as a person, just not a massive fan of her Elphaba. End of!

I saw Emma 37 times and every show she sang the songs with emotion passion and acting involved, She never shouted, only in the acting which is what every Elphaba pretty much does. She never blew her voice out! She was off a lot near the end of her run because she fell down the stairs in April and had back problems. This is not remotely true and you know it. She did not "have back problems", there was one show where she had some back pain, went off mid-show, and came back a few days later perfectly fine. She still had a problem with her back for a while. She even said to me back in August when i asked her how her back was. She's fine now though.

It all makes sense now. AliceFearnFan2212 was obsessed with Rachel and brought her presents to the stage door until she put in a restraining order against him and since then he has become bitter and tried to ruin Rachel's career by stating she does not have a powerful voice. I've never given Rachel anything. I might get her a card on the 28th but that's it.

You were there yesterday, so i can say to you that yesterday i thought her power wasn't as great as usual but then again she was vocally tired (Sick) so that's probs why. Thanks for pointing out Emma. My opinion is that Rachel is more powerful with the riffs than without That makes absolutely no sense. So are you saying that for the few seconds the "riffed" note lasts, her voice becomes much more powerful (ie fills the room more etc) and as soon as she reverts back to the score that isn't the case? This is the last I'm going to say on this matter as I don't wish to keep giving you the attention you so obviously crave Thanks Her riffs make it more powerful and louder, like the things i've never felt riff and the BMD riff.

We have different opinions, so what. Personally i think Rachel didn't need to riff in her 2010-2012 run but now i feel the riffs are needed to show her power, without them, there's not much power apart from the end of TWAI and DG

I never said she isn't powerful, I meant she's not as powerful when she doesn't riff. She's extremely powerful when she does riff but when she doesn't i feel like she's speaking the lines more than singing them. I'm going to her last show because she's clearly gonna riff a lot as it's her last and i love her riffs! I booked it as soon as it was announced she was coming back. PLUS it's not just Rachel's last, it's Katie and Anita's last too. Hmmmmm... now would I rather my Elphaba sing the lines with true emotion, passion and acting, like she is in one of the West End's biggest musicasl, or yell alot, showzero emotion, blow her voice out and miss most of her performsnces before the end of her run? There is a reason most of the older fans of Wicked avoided the show for around a year love bar maybe one or two fans, and it wasn't Savannah or Oliver. I saw Emma 37 times and every show she sang the songs with emotion passion and acting involved, She never shouted, only in the acting which is what every Elphaba pretty much does. She never blew her voice out! She was off a lot near the end of her run because she fell down the stairs in April and had back problems.

As I said when Rachel riffs she's powerful but when she doesn't I don't find her that powerful, she's definitely louder on recording than live in my opinion. As for Emma, I think she can belt and is really powerful when she doesn't riff, as well as does. We have had the conversation of 'everybody has opinions' and 'everybody likes who they like' so many times on this board and this thread has been going around in circles for the past 20 bloody pages. However, you need to look at the bare facts here - Rachel Tucker has an incredibly powerful belt, I'm sorry but that can not be disputed. You were there yesterday at the same show that I was. Rachel sung the whole show pretty much straight to score, was obviously tired vocally and still knocked it out of the park. Yes maybe you prefer when she *braces self to utter this word* riffs but put that to one side for a second and think about what you're saying! Her voice is a force to be reckoned with. There were many people sat around me who in the interval were commenting on how good her voice is and they sounded like first timers. And I'm not having a go - Emma Hatton can sing. I think she was gorgeous voice with the right songs, in fact, and yes she can belt strongly but to say Rachel isn't as powerful is ridiculous. You were there yesterday, so i can say to you that yesterday i thought her power wasn't as great as usual but then again she was vocally tired (Sick) so that's probs why. Thanks for pointing out Emma. My opinion is that Rachel is more powerful with the riffs than without

Here is a link that explains the technique of belting, and what it is. www.vocalskills.co.uk/What-is-Belt-Belting.htmlI suggest you have a read I know what belting is. Rachel does belt, i never mentioned belting, i mentioned the power

It might sound like that on recording but certainly not live, her belt is perfect I think We must remember my dear Paul , this is someone who has just said Rachel Tucker doesn't have a powerful voice. Clearlt he has no clue what a powerful voice sounds like. Or a belt. Or a riff. But Rachel must be doing something right if he is still going to her final performance and sitting at the front. I never said she isn't powerful, I meant she's not as powerful when she doesn't riff. She's extremely powerful when she does riff but when she doesn't i feel like she's speaking the lines more than singing them. I kinda agree actually, like I don't think Rachel is that powerful, apart from a few notes like her team in TWAI, if she does "riff" I find her powerful on the notes she riffs, but not when she sings it to score, sorry 😂🙈 Thara interesting, especially considering more people would say she is one of the more powerful Elphaba's and more people would say Emma, for example, was one of the weaker in London anyway. Thats actually really interesting you say that. As I said when Rachel riffs she's powerful but when she doesn't I don't find her that powerful, she's definitely louder on recording than live in my opinion. As for Emma, I think she can belt and is really powerful when she doesn't riff, as well as does.

Listen to Emma's last Defying Gravity. That was shouting, not power. There is a big difference. It might sound like that on recording but certainly not live, her belt is perfect I think

I find it really difficult to understand the whole present giving thing at stage door. It just seems a bit too much in my opinion It's just some guy meeting his biggest idol 😂 It is a bit cringey though, I've given a few cast members a card and present on there birthdays or Christmas or when they're leaving but that's it aha

HAHA! Don't worry, I'll make sure to scream the loudest If you're sitting anywhere near me and you scream ridiculously loudly and/or at inappropriate moments I will have no hesitation about complaining to the ushers! That goes for anyone who decides to scream mid-song or do anything stupid like recording the show or trying to make the cast notice they're there, as I expect there'll be a few of those on Saturday night as well...the ones who seem to live in the dayseat queue... I WAS JOKING!!! Bloody hell!
