Have to say that whilst I would prefer to see JOJ personally I do understand Alfie fans being disappointed, always a drop when you've gone to see a particular performer and they're not on for whatever reason. That said, I understand disappointment NOT abuse towards other cast members be it like that in the theatre, at stage door or via social media. I do wonder how Michael Ball feels in all of this though, can't be an easy position for him watching Alfie being a no-show for Les Mis and yet still doing the promo for the album and concerts.

British Film Institute, they're doing a musicals season at the moment - there is a thread for it but wasn't sure where so put the offer here instead as I was in a bit of a rush!

Anyone booking for BFI musicals you can use SHOW241 if not going alone (or would like extra space for no extra cost!)

Also listed for Canterbury, Marlowe Theatre, 14-18 July 2020. I wish the Wise Children website would stay updated, I contacted them about something before seeing this in Cambridge and never received a reply - they need to look at managing that side of thing better really

Where the poppy earrings etc are concerned I think it's down to personal choice. I know someone who has a pair and wears them to all family events representing those lost as they lost two family members in more recent conflicts.

Fingers crossed for this, loved the Donmar production and this is a favourite show of mine - will be keeping a firm eye on this thread for info!

Saw this last week and would highly recommend it. Really strong performances and powerful production, possibly the more powerful due to the space being so small.

It’s gonna beeeeee a long niggghhhtttt... damn I love those songs! Back to Turbine! Ha Really surprising there has been no move to get these songs on stage. Fame The TV series musical would surely have some sort of shelflife. Get the great Debbie Allen to direct it or at least be a consultant and it would have legitimacy. After the incredible Fame Reunion weekend I'm sure some of the cast members would also agree to be involved - mind you, my bank manager would strongly disagree with the idea!

I thoroughly enjoyed this one too - although the number of little girls proclaiming that 'Bill wasn't an honourable, that was Clarissa' had me in fits of laughter. Messing with the characters might be accepted by adults but the kids were quite indignant!

So I can't afford to see all the shows I'd like to see once and have been happily ignoring Les Mis as one I've already seen three times so no need to bother - then they go and cast Josefina Gabrielle! It's back on the to see list now with that.

Ok so the 3D Kiss Me Kate will be on in December - better warn BFI that I'll be moving in!

I saw it in Edinburgh and loved it - and I've never seen Closer to Heaven either! Frances Barber is just wonderful and I felt that it stood on it's own well although perhaps I would have loved it even more had I already known the character but then perhaps not as I went in with no preconceived ideas or expectations.

Fantastic news! This was the best thing I saw in Edinburgh by miles - so glad it's getting the chance to come to London.

Thanks I'm sure we will. This is the right show for two people who just want an evening out, no thinking but great music and seeing some great dancing. I have serious on Friday at the Old Vic to even things up!

I love concerts at the Palladium, the sound is great, it's more comfortable than many usual concert venues and feels closer to the artist. It's a big thing for performers - they love being able to say they've played the Palladium, after all years ago doing Sunday Night at the Palladium was considered special and this is the way it's done today. The excitement when The Fizz - as they are now, OBF as they were then - sold out the Palladium, meant a lot to Cheryl, Mike and Jay as well as the fans.

Was 853rd in the queue and waiting almost an hour but got row M in the stalls for the day I wanted in the end. It's the first time they've been released on my day off in a couple of years so was worth the effort as I doubt I'll get another chance to do it for quite some time

I totally agree with you on that! Although I'd go a step further and ask for the temperature to drop another 5 or 6 degrees before I would be happy with it.

Everyone who suffers please be careful - an insect bite last year turned into cellulitis and then formed a blood clot in my leg! If you find you have flu like symptoms following a bite please get it checked out immediately. I've suffered for years but that was the worst one ever.

Quite honestly I never watch her being interviewed, I've never thought she's a lovely person but I do love her live shows despite the horrendous ticket prices. Somehow Madonna never comes across well when she's doing interviews - I have no idea what she's like in private so try not to judge by what is shown as we all show a different face at work to at home. Mind you, it does remind me of the phrase 'never meet your heroes'!

Not going to lie - I'm over the moon with this news. When Lyn Paul announced she was retiring from Mrs J it was quite low key with just a few weeks to go and little chance to really celebrate her part in BB success. Now she's getting a proper farewell and I'm sure that will then lead into the show being revitalised with a fresh cast after a true farewell to what has gone before. I saw her in Southampton on the last lot and yes, she's far older than we would expect but brings so much energy and depth of emotion that it gets lost as the character takes over - well, that's how it works for me anyway!
