Ryan Reid somehow manages to get worse every time I see him. It's like I'm watching the cogs go trying to actually sing in tune, which is a shame cos Fiyero can be such a charming role if played right but he just falls flat on singing, acting AND dancing. When I saw him he was struggling quite a bit with "and it's up that I fell" in As Long as You're Mine! The notes certainly weren't going up 😬

When I’ve attended RADA events, it’s been unallocated seating. Queue up and take your pick of remaining seats. Thats what we had for Company earlier this year. Crazy system considering how great their auditorium is, complete with fixed down seats and everything! It's probably because it's a flexible space! The stalls can be lifted to the be level with the stage, but the only time I've seen it used is for the condensed Shakespeares they used to do — saw a dreadful Cymbeline that made no sense there back in 2019 😂

I know it's not a musical, but couldn't find the equivalent thread in the plays forum, but have seen that RADA are putting on Angels in America Part One at the end of the month. Very curious to see how it'll work

Niamh Perry and Sarah Lark have both done well since I'd Do Anything — plenty of steady work even if they haven't quite hit the heights of others. I always enjoyed seeing Sarah perform back in the days I was a regular at Les Mis

Was it the Nine Inch Nails track, Something I can never have? Someone on Spotify has put together a playlist of the music: Yes, that's it! Brilliant! Thanks so much for this. If you liked you should check out their release Still! It's a lot more piano focused than most of their stuff

Potentially no fourth then unless it does unprecedentedly well on digital! At least that could give some time to rework King Lear before it goes to New York next year

Is he doing another Poirot? A Haunting in Venice did well at the Box Office compared to how much it cost to make (I think it recouped?) so I'd imagine that Disney will want a fourth one

I can see him doing a London stint before someone else taking over the role! Willing to eat my words if it does end up being a tour and he trucks rounds the country with it 😂

Wait so this is actually happening? A tour with Ramin? I can't imagine Ramin would do a tour, surely? He went to Broadway because the money's better than the West End

Supposedly down to cast indisposition. If that is the case, hope whoever it is is on the mend quickly!

The small family business angle they keep putting it is ignoring the fact the Theatre Cafe and Diner are owned by a ticketing agency. Someone on twitter looked the owner up and apparently there's a pattern of businesses mysteriously being dissolved

Found this on twitter, supposedly the eviction notice that was put up on the doors. I haven't been since it was still on Shaftesbury Avenue, but I always thought it was a nice little place

It is SO loud isn't it! Some kids near me were very scared. I don't understand it! Some parts are very quiet and I struggled to hear and then it was like being screamed at! the friend I was with had a headache by the interval because of it

Saw this today for the first time since Rachel Tucker was Elphaba and I was quite pleased. I thought Alexia Khadime and Lucy St Louis were both wonderful but god, I had forgotten how loud it gets at points — really could have done with being turned down a little bit, particularly when the wizard uses the mechanical head. Thought the Fiyero was okay — better than Matt Willis at any rate — but he didn't sing As Long As You're Mine that well at all.
All in all a pleasant afternoon, but I probably won't be rushing back unless there's some particularly exciting casting in future cast changes

From what I've heard it's going to be quite the different story than the show was. I can't help but wonder why they've decided to push forward with it instead of Bombshell?

There no denying this woman can sing but I wonder, is it the right sort of voice for Norma? She has recorded a few songs from the show in the past, I suppose it'll make for a different take on the role as I can't really picture her belting As If We Never Said Goodbye....

Looks like they're using the dress from the previous productions! Or at least Chichester. Hopefully the others dresses are the same — I know everything went into storage from the run in Chichester

Surely protesting at the currently ongoing Tory party conference in Manchester would have been better? I know common sense is seemingly lacking when it comes to their choices in protest locations but still....

Slips are how much these days?! God, I remember when they used to be £25... that's nearly triple the price in a decade Slips are 89,5/99,5 now. Sometimes they´ll reduce to 72,5. Crazy! I paid £20 for them on a random weekday matinée in june 2022 when the Grand was closed. The view is good, but certainly not worth that much! That's absolutely eye watering! Yeah, that view is definitely not worth more than £40 with the amount of leaning forward you need to do!

The slip seats are usually 69,5/72,5 and the view is quite good, and at a more moderate price than other seats. Those seats are advertised as restricted legroom, but I´m very tall and had no issues. To be fair, I was in the aisle. This show is crazy expensive, isn´t it? Slips are how much these days?! God, I remember when they used to be £25... that's nearly triple the price in a decade

Missing the point. It showed less commercial films that don’t get shown elsewhere. There’s literally dozens of ancient outmoded theatres with god awful sightlines within walking distance of this place. No need for another one of those. And cheaper than the others at that! Don't think I've ever paid more than £7 a ticket there — compared to an eye-watering nearly £20 for a seat with little legroom (and I'm 5'1") at the Curzon along Shaftesbury Ave when I went to see Boiling Point!

It'll be a shame to lose that odeon — managed to catch some hard to find films there over the last few years! But at least it's returning to a theatre instead of offices or whatnot

I saw a tiktok that said that it sounded like there may have been an accident during the start of The Rooftop scene which led to the change in Phantoms — apparently it was an extended interval too. I hope Jon Robyns is alright!

I don’t care who stars in this or not - but I love this musical and would love to see Michael Arden’s direction! Is that the same Michel Arden who was in Aspects of Love at the Menier? It is indeed! Seems to have pivoted firmly to directing now. He did an incredible revival of Spring Awakening with Deaf West some years ago (The production lost out on a few well-deserved Tonys because of Hamilton IMHO)

I was holding off on booking for this until we started to get some reviews on here and I'm glad I am now! Factoring in travel it would cost over £100 for my mum and I and from the looks of it it's very much not worth it. Such a shame — Rebecca's a favourite novel of ours and we'd both been tentatively excited for this to be finally opening. Oh well, there's always the Jeremy Brett/Joanna David version to rewatch on youtube! This isn't selling particularly well, is it? I wonder if they'll end up doing some heavy discounts... I feel dreadfully sorry for the cast and backstage crew, doing their best with what they've been dealt.

The Cinderella plot was abysmal also. Andy writes gorgeous scores and hires terrible writers. Blame for this one can't be solely left with Ben Elton... Andy cooked up the story with Frederick Forsyth in the 90s

I had a really lovely time at this tonight! I saw it three times in London before it closed (but post-reworking, my first viewing was Sierra's final performance). It's been one of my favourite ALW scores and it was magical to hear it with such a lush orchestra today. I feel much the same as many of you on here — tonight really was Celinde's night. She was transcendent as Christine. I was lucky enough to see her run in POTO so it was special to see her in the sequel.
ALW certainly seems keen on bringing this back based on what he said tonight... I wonder if scheduling the upcoming international tour to have a stop in London would be a viable option

I saw this on Saturday evening as my friend was able to get us some fairly last minute seats in the second row of the stalls and really enjoyed it. I do agree with others on here that the ensemble cast is somewhat underused. Jack Thorne is very hit and miss for me, and I found this to be a real hit!
I enjoyed the performances and I was very happy to finally catch Luke Norris on stage and I really enjoyed him as the slightly awkward William Redfield. I do hope that he'll be transferring to the West End as I'm hoping to catch that run with another friend. I wouldn't describe myself as a big Mark Gatiss fan but I thought that he was really wonderful as Gielgud, even if he did remind me in parts of Jim Broadbent. I thought that Tuppence Middleton was very charming as Elizabeth Taylor as well. Johnny Flynn gave a great performance as Richard Burton too.
I really loved the ending, I don't think that you could have ended the play any other way.

Given that cast change is at the end of the month, I'd be surprised if the rumours were true. The show's been selling well, and it is at a LW theatre, so I feel like things would have to be dire for ALW to let it go
