Any dayseat info on this? How early people are queuing, what seats do they give etc. Day seated this morning, arrived at 8:30 and was 12th in line. Was still tickets for both performances by the time I got my turn, few people were there for Small Island. Forgot to ask how many they put aside, sorry!

Won the Todaytix lottery yesterday - front row is very front row but the stage is low so apart from some slight furniture obscurities it was fine.
Thought the performances were fine but my god, the staging! That ugly furniture! I know it's Ivan's "thing" but really felt like a wasted opportunity.

I saw it a few years ago at Trafalgar Studios (with Surabne Jones) and really it feels like 2 plays just shoved together to make a whole one to justify the ticket price. I’d quite like to revisit it though, so will check this out as I suspect the NT version has quite a different feel. I saw that production too and loved it (8 years ago, gulp!) - heard nothing but bad about this one so far, though.

Fully agree with the Time Out review, thought this was dreadful. Ill-judged in every way.

I caught the second performance of this last night and enjoyed it so much I wanted to start a thread.
Perhaps more a perfomance piece piece rather than a play, but it focuses on 6 individuals who identify as gender queer / non binary reflecting on their life experiences. Some are funny, some heartbreaking and others more abstract. My partner identifies as non binary and was completely blown away and it went down very well in the largely full house. Do think it might struggle a three week run here but would recommend.
75 mins no interval, nudity, no dogs.

I saw the Lindsay Posner production at the Old Vic in 2011, and I didn't think it was funny at all. Judging by the reactions of people around me, I was in a minority. It's the only time I have seen the play, and I wondered if the problem was the production or the material itself. I was assuming you got that wrong but no, it really was 2011. Where does the time go? That’s the only production I’ve seen and remember enjoying it but not quite as much as my fellow theatre goers.

Enjoyed this a lot last night - really well drawn characters and packed a real punch. Full house from what I could see, too which was great. Hopefully it has another life somewhere else.

Just under 3 hours tonight so they are trimming, could easily still do more though. Found this an odd one, nothing strictly bad about it but something always kept me at arms length. Did however make me even more terrified about Brexit!

If it's 2h10 at first preview it'll probably be 2 hours straight by press night... The signs in the theatre said it would be 2hrs 10 mins, it was actually 2hours 20 and no interval! I don't really want to give my opinion yet, apparently they'd never performed it in front of an audience before or performed the play the whole way through before so I'll give it a while to bed in. Not performing it the whole way through before a preview seems.... ill advised. It’s a preview, not a dress rehearsal.

Went to third preview last night and found it in very good shape. KP is superb as is Susan Brown - really loved the set. Pretty full house from what I could see too. Hope it does well.

Oh I went today too, it’s very impressive if a bit short. It’s sold as being an hour but the second half is just the opportunity to watch the next person go through it so you can see it from that perspective.
The piece itself is lovely though and very effective.

Saw the trailer for the NT live when I went to the cinema at the weekend and if that’s what’s meant to draw people in then.... yikes.

Newbie question, what time does the queue for returns for matinees start? I see a lot about 6pm for the evening shows, so is it a case of 12.30pm for the matinees? Thanks for your help Tomorrow is the first matinee of the run so impossible to tell

Ok... so I have little positive to say about this. And when I say ‘little’ I’m still trying to think of something. I’ve never seen anything by Crimp before and if this is anything to go by I won’t bother again. It’s an absolute mess of a play, and not in a good way. Don’t ask me what it was really about because I’ve not really any idea. It seems more concerned with finding ways to spray water, blood, shaving foam around the place than to really find any depth in the characters. It’s a shame because at its core Cate Blanchett and Stephen Dillane are doing their very best to try and improve the material. The other four largely didn’t need to be there. I was facing the stage in the top tier so had a nice clear view but because of the shape of the proscenium I do wonder what the sightlines are like nearer the stage at the top. Admittedly they had some seats blocked off but still... And for those who were asking there was no sign of ID checks beforehand. Have to give a mention to the FOH team who did have to carry someone out half way through with far less disturbance and noise than your average punter unwrapping a sweet. A friend of a friend said very similar and that though there was the Cate novelty, it wears off very quickly. Eeek.

Is anyone contemplating day seats? I imagine it's going to be a very early start.

Absolutely loved this tonight - possibly my play of the year and the best thing at the Donmar for a very long time. Highly recommended.

Are there dates when Michelle Visage won't be performing, does anyone know (I'm trying to see her, not avoid her I should add!)
