Apologies for being that person, but to those of you who have already seen it what is the running time? Website currently states 2hours 15mins but that seems a little short. We have tickets for a Sunday matinee in a few weeks and are trying to work out if we could fit something else in afterwards.

That's exactly how I felt when I left the theatre after watching this at the Donmar.

Maybe monkey but I'd be more inclined to call it a load of old twaddle 😀
I actually loved Lazarus, I let Bowie and Michael C. Hall override my concerns about Walsh and, for me, it paid off.

After being severely burnt by Ballyturk it would take a lot to convince me to watch a Murphy/ Walsh play again.

Thanks Stasia . You're right, TKTS is also an option. I don't know why but I keep forgetting about them. Seems like I just need to have some chill and buy the Jamie ticket on the day. 😄 I'm very curious about the show as so many of you have given it great reviews. i got tickets for a Saturday evening for Jamie a couple of weeks ago from TKTS, i think they were £44 ish each,

Saw this for the second time recently after first watching it in Sheffield, and love it even more. Definitely feels tighter, and i think the projection works really well. My only minor issue is that I still don't think they found quite the right actor for Hugo/ Loco.
Interesting discussion about Jamie kissing Dean. I think it was very much a preemptive defensive move, and total acceptable in the circumstances. It reminds me of the quite powerful realisation i had in my mid teens as I was slowly starting to deal with my sexuality, that the reason the straight boys bullied me was because I made them feel uncomfortable and the bullying was a (often successful) attempt to retaliate by making me uncomfortable in return. I was never gonna hit them and never tried to kiss them, but the odd blush inducing blown kiss or flirtatious "i'll see you later" definitely made me feel i wasn't totally powerless.

Oh no, please don't say Jack Thorne is involved, what an overrated hack. I couldn't possibly disagree more, he is responsible for two of the best things I've seen in the last couple of years, National Treasure and The Solid Life of Sugar Water. Glad to hear that there is finally movement on this, I've been waiting with baited breathe since they announced it.

This was madness from the beginning, why would 10.000 people flock to a unknown show, it isn't like they had Bette Midler. They were apparently still trying to negotiate a deal for her to play the apple. They fully expected "Bite Me" to be the breakout hit of the year

yeah, as it would be in most western countries i guess. but these conversations seem to have gone beyond legality to explore an inate morality or lack of in such relationships. for the record i dont see an issue, its certainly not abusive as portrayed in the film.

Given that I've never yet been disappointed in anything I've watched at Hope Mill, I'll definitely be going to this. Despite having no knowledge whatsoever of Little Women. Is it a spin off of Wicked set in Munchkin-land?
Also excitedly looking forward to their new season announcement next week.
BTW as a Manchester resident im always up to saying hello to anyone up for a visit, dependent on my "flexible" hours at work of course.

I watched it in Birmingham, it was pretty atmospheric but not especially scary. Generally I'd recommend it as worth watching. I would've even considered watching it again in London if they'd got rid of Bowles, seen better acting from a a Billy bookcase.

She was better than Dusty. Yup. I said it. Better than Dusty. I really like her, but come on really? Lol Hoping the choreography for the show is inspired by numbers such as the one below from her to show in the seventies.

"You saw it on stage, now you can see Sheridan's Funny Fanny every night in the comfort of your own home. Buy the DVD" I should be in marketing. and the press release headline "Sheridan's Final Funny Fanny Filmed!"

Some interesting discussion on here, can't wait to see the show, have tickets for next Saturday I have a bit of a strange relationship with it, on paper it seems machine tooled to be totally my cup of tea, i truly love Sondheim's work, and the themes of the show are ones which often grab me both intellectually and emotionally, but I've just never managed to fully connect with it. Admittedly I've only seen it once, and that was an am dram production, but even the various cast recordings of it, apart from the few songs i knew out of context of the show already, leave a little cold. I know even people with the broadest of tastes cant like everything, but on paper it does just seem so "my thing". I guess it this production doesn't win me over then nothing is ever going to and i just have to accept it's not a show for me.

Back in the early days of the National Lottery when Mystic Meg used to make predictions about next week's winners on the results show, my workplace syndicate won a small amount but had lots of matches with things she predicted, star signs, type of workplace, names beginning with a to z etc. We got invited to appear on the show, stand in the middle of the stage and tell Anthea Turner how much we'd won (56p each if i recall correctly), as well as comment on the quality of the food in the BBC canteen. A lot of fun if a little embarrassing. Terry Wogan was on that week too though and i got to meet him which was a real pleasure.

I'm hoping that the lack of an interval means that the weird dream i had last night about being at Follies (got tickets for a week on Saturday) is not prophetic. I slept through most of the first half and struggled to find somewhere to buy a can of red bull at the interval, got back late and wasn't allowed in I woke up very sad.

Meh. I really like the show, it was the first proper stage musical i saw (original London production with Michael Crawford) but as many others have said it just feels very soon after the Chichester production and tour, both of which i saw. So short of some amazing casting, my bank account can breathe a little sigh of relief.
In a couple of decades or so Charlie stemp would be perfect.

As well as the ATG and Lowry memberships schemes, and signing up to Manchestertheatres.com as already recommended. I'd suggest they try to attend the previews of main house shows at the Royal Exchange. They can be as cheap as half price. Home also does cheap previews, and the side Circle seats there are pretty much always £10.

Sometimes people do get your point, they just disagree with it. And sometimes they don't, and argue against something you didn't actually say.

Does anyone know how to get priority booking? Don't know if it helps you but just had a priority booking email from Atg for card holders. I've not listened to the show but loved the film, and that's a great cast. Guess i'm going to have to break my pledge to not arrange any more London trips this year :/ Looking at the ATG ticket prices it seems they wont be doing the £5 / £10 cheapies that they've done for previous shows

I saw it when it was at the Edinburgh Fringe, two years ago. It was fun, definitely worth a watch if you like your musicals culty. Shock treatment is definitely a strong inspiration.

Me too. It's in the round isn't it? So short of the guest appearance of a pillar or the seats facing the wall we should be fine.

This thread is why I love this forum. This probably says a lot about me but I don't care. That I'm writing this with a large courgette on my desk left there by my boss is also amusing me. #notaeuphamism I agree. Funnily enough yesterday my boss gave me a bag of small yellow courgettes to celebrate my first week of renewed vegatarianism . #mostcertainlynotaeuphanismhowverydareyou!
