Was thinking of catching this when it visits Blackpool... Think I'll be saving my money instead.

Just out from the show in Blackpool. Blurgh. Never again. Didn't take off until "Nobody puts baby in the corner". Last 10 minutes or so we're good fun though...

This is my local theatre - beautiful theatre, horrific news. Local newspaper reporting that the boy fell from an area that was not open to the public at the time. Must have been an horrendous thing to witness and thoughts very much with the lad who fell and all - audience and performers - who were there last night.

Suddenly glad I mucked up my dates and managed to go on Tuesday instead of tonight!
Have a photo of a poster outside the theatre "Glenn Close in Sunset Boulevard".
Having said all that though, I really enjoyed the show so it would be interesting to see another interpretation.
Wishing all the very best indeed to Ria Jones. Break a leg!

Super show - loved Glenn Close, though there was a muck up of the last note I thought! Covered it with manic laughter!!
Was supposed to be in C56 in the Upper Stalls on Thursday night but got into my head I was going tonight and arranged travel that way... Managed to change the seat for tonight's performance and was given D57, which I felt was a better seat and avoiding the right curve of the circle and the wall of the box in front.
However, when the lights went down shuffled along four seats, had no one in front and a wonderful view! There were two rows at the side of the Upper Circle with no one say in them - maybe 20 or so seats.
The performances were uniformly superb. Loved Max and Betty. Joe was great too! But it is Glenn Close's show!
Enjoyed the story for the first time of viewing as well!

My turn has come!!! Thankfully after making a hash of travel arrangements and days and tickets, the box office staff were wonderful and I altered my ticket for a near identical one for this evening. Can't wait. Never seen it.

Upper Circle: Circle above overhangs at row B, can't see surtitles from H back. No legroom in any seat for anyone over 5ft 5 except: C1 - 60% clear in front, B 1 and 51 and C56 - 100% clear. A 1 and 43 have no legroom at all. Boxes have similar views to dress circle. I've gone for C56 on the strength of having a lot of legroom!!! Looking forward to hearing/seeing the show next month! My first Sunset visit!

It played The Grand theatre here in Blackpool two years ago - pretty much a sell out and a great venue. This year it is playing the huge Opera House and I fear it will be too big a place for the show and the audience it will draw.

Caught the show this afternoon - thought it was brilliant! Although didn't really take off until 'Supercali...' But that could have just been because it was a matinee. Highlight was 'Step in Time'! My 5 yr old now wants to tap dance and be Bert. Ticket I thought was a little pricey for sitting right at the side of the stalls, but the view was fine. Would love to see it again actually!!

My understanding from the lyrics: Ellen: If it were only Tam I'd take him now. He is your child we'd make it work somehow. But Chris she still loves you, how can I have her near? Tam only - easy solution. Tam and Kim - no go. This always confuses me a bit. That was exactly Kim's plan. 5 minutes before, Kim asks Ellen: "You must take Tam with you". And the Ellen says "NO, can't you see, it won't work, it can't be". And a minute later, when Chris comes in, she says "If it was only Tam I'd take him". Well, why didn't you say so to Kim? Then she wouldn't have killed herself. True - but then she's heard Chris's side of the story and much he feels he's messed up. Perhaps that helped her change her point of view...!

Tam only - easy solution. Tam and Kim - no go. They decide to leave them both in Bangkok and support them there.
Kim recognises this having met Ellen, hence the tragic ending that gets me absolutely every time!

Good plan. I don't think you need to know the Sunset songs in advance to enjoy them, which I find I do need with a lot of shows. I can remember loving the music from the first performance I saw. Enjoy! I'd not heard the songs before I saw it on stage either and I instantly loved them. I'm really looking forward to hearing this production (I don't say see as I've got a cheap seat so don't expect to see much!) I think I'll be hearing more of the show than seeing any of it too!!!!

Really looking forward to seeing this - never seen the show, unfamiliar with the majority of the music and not going to familiarise myself with it before I go!! Want to hear it for the first time live!!

Critchyboy on the old and Critchyboy in the new!
Love theatre - not very often in London but good opportunity to see shows in the Northwest!
