I heard that Eva Noblezada has been cast as Eponine in the West End version of Les Miserables before going to the USA next year. Will this mean that Tanya Manalang will be Kim in the UK tour of Miss Saigon?

Excuse the silly question, but has a uk tour been confirmed? There hasn't been a tour announcement yet, however somebody on here (forgive me, I can't remember who it was!) was at the Bord Gais in Dublin recently and it was advertised in their brochure as "coming 2017"

This was filmed this afternoon, and apparently is being filmed all week, for some kind of distribution!

I hate to be that person, but what is the dayseat queue usually like on a saturday. I'm coming up from Canterbury to see JoJ's last phantom and my friends and I were thinking about doing a matinee of Miss Saigon before it leaves.

You'll need to be there VERY early, Stagey. I've had reports for the last few weeks that by 9am there are 20 to 40 in line. Gosh, okay, I'll aim for my earliest possible train then! Thanks theatremonkey!

In regards to day seat; I arrived last week at 8am and was first in line but 10 or so of us were there by 8.30. By the time the box office opened I'd say there was a good 25 + people

How are they filming it? Multiple camera's or just one cam from the auditorium?

They've already done the documentary. Normally, if they were to film it for commercial purposes, they'd use this time to promote the fact that it's being filmed for future release and we wouldn't hear the end of it on their social media accounts. For archival purposes, I would think they'd do it for just a day and not spend all that much money. Considering this is a replacement cast (and with some of the sophomore casts departing already), I don't see how this is being used for commercial purposes. Sorry MrMusicals, I am not doubting what you and your friends are saying, but I am doubting what you and your friends are saying.

Documentary for the US? To be mixed with footage of the American cast? Not sure; now grasping at straws. Hm.

Documentary for the US? To be mixed with footage of the American cast? Not sure; now grasping at straws. Hm. Why? They have sufficient footage that they used in the trailer (and other that they used in the documentary that does not appear in the trailer). Considering the two leads remained the same, I doubt they'll need new footage. Even if the leads were to change, the original footage would have been sufficient. Look at Wicked..For all its trailers regardless of language they pretty much use footage of the German production and dub it in whatever language is necessary.

Easy, ali973. I'm just reporting back. I have no idea why they are filming it. I'm just telling you that the cast have spent the last two days filming the show, during the day, without an audience.

It does make sense - there have been quite a few covers on so far this week (and Christian's on for the Engineer again today) so if the principals are performing in the day time they may not be contracted to do the show X more times in the week too.

I think Chris Peluso is great so I would love to see him on a recording with Eva and Jon Jon, also the Ellen is much better than the original. The only thing missing would be Rachelle Ann Go as Gigi, but the girl playing her now is fine too.
I truly hope this will be released on dvd at some point.
Does anyone know more about how it's filmed? Did they film the whole show or just certain scenes? Did they film an actual performance too (with audience) and are they using the 2 recording days for close-ups or more polished shots?
Anyone?
Also, I thought they had filmed the whole 25th anniversary performance too.

MrMusicals, you were right and I was wrong. They were indeed filming it. They filmed the 25th anniversary, and are shooting more footage with the original cast. They shipped in the original revival cast to film additional footage. Which is why Ms. Rachelle was also missing from Les Miz very recently.
