Saw this in Blackpool this afternoon and not really knowing what to expect after hearing about the scaling down for the tour and the use of recordings, and although I can't base it on previous productions as I havnt seen it before I'm pleased to say I enjoyed it.
Slight apprehension beforehand, As Dirty Dancing probably draws the same crowd as Mama Mia, and having experienced that on a Saturday night in Blackpool that wasn't something I wanted to repeat as a bit of a purist. But om the whole a well behaved audience.
Johnny is played by the guy who played Nick Massey on the Jersey Boys tour, and found it amusing that it was a bit like Nick had got a summer job away from the four seasons working as a Dancer, as the accent and look were almost identical.
Overall a fun afternoon at the theatre and another show ticked off the list.

Just out from the show in Blackpool. Blurgh. Never again. Didn't take off until "Nobody puts baby in the corner". Last 10 minutes or so we're good fun though...
