It's a shame that Hotel Inspectors was chosen over A Touch of Class because I think the final scene with Basil shouting 'BASTARD' at Lord Melbury would be hilarious on stage.

Does Switzerland have a venue that can host Eurovision? I assume they do otherwise they'd have to let one of their border countries do it on their behalf.
Ireland will be pleased with their result given it's their first time in the final for years, I didn't mind Olly Alexander but his act and song really doesn't stand out in Eurovision.

Is it just The Jamie Lloyd Company producing or are there other producers? Considering JL's other productions last year were fine and went without a hitch, it's strange that things have gone wrong. Didn’t he just very recently part ways with ATG to go solo? He did in January although he said he'd still partner with them on projects.

Kind of weird to have a Beatles episode with no Beatles music but apparently it's very expensive to license.

The Canadian film industry is more comparable to Australian film industry but I can't think of a Canadian film that has made an impact globally whereas Australia has had hits like Mad Max, Crocodile Dundee, Priscilla, Muriel's Wedding to name but four.
Ironically a lot of American films and TV series film in Canada because it's cheaper.

I do think JL is a director of the highest calibre and have always felt an affinity to his work But with recognition and popularity Comes ego And with increased output Standards inevitably drop and ideas become old And the fashion changes I will be interested to see where he goes in the next 10 years and if he develops his style and evolves In the Sunset Boulevard programme, the minimalist look is Jamie Lloyd wants to do, I'm sure he'll go back to doing traditional productions in the future. I think this is the first production that Jamie Lloyd has done since The Jamie Lloyd Company became independent from ATG which isn't good for him if things aren't going well on R&J

I get cast and creative being unhappy during a show's run but before it takes the biscuit!
One has to wonder if this might end up being Jamie Lloyd's Opening Night.

This is why I don't book first previews, always a risk of cancellation.

@sohoplace in its thrust capacity offers the intimacy Titanique would need.

Is Bartlett Sher the only theater director in the US? No but he's associate director at Lincoln Center Theater. RDJ in a play will sell extremely well. I can't remember if he's ever done theatre though.

I wonder what theatre they've booked for Broadway, I think the Booth would give the intimacy plus the capacity they need to make money.

I can't imagine Cabaret closing just yet although it seems to only sell nearer the time.
Given ATG spent a lot on the Playhouse, I could see them keeping the theatre like that for the next show.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Talk about an ego. I usually rate him very highly but to criticise audiences rather than accept that what you delivered might not be up to scratch is a really bad move. The issue isn’t that this show is experimental. It’s that the material is bad. Rufus Wainwright writes brilliant songs, but what he’s written for this show is sub par and unsuitable for a narrative musical. It frustrates me that someone would actively choose not to learn from this experience. He could take the learnings from this show, reflect on what worked and what didn’t, and write another, stronger piece where the music is part of the narrative and drive rather than repeated choruses which are often irrelevant. But no, it’s just stupid audiences and Brexit. I’m also disheartened that Sheridan Smith is feeling responsible. She’s the best thing about this show, and - IMO - the reason much of the audience is still there. How dare they allow her to feel responsible. She has no reason to. She’s delivering a brilliant performance and attracting an audience despite the bad material she’s been handed. The show’s creators could learn a lot from her humility. Sheridan Smith chose something not in her wheelhouse and while it didn't work, I don't blame her for trying something different. Rufus' comment are cringeworthy but I don't think we should lump in Ivo van Hove who hasn't said anything since the show announced it was closing.

Maybe its trying to get the cast together if they can Soho Place after Heathers would be perfect spot for it Would fit it great! I think @sohoplace and the National Theatre could have a good working relationship.
What I was not-so-subtly implying earlier was I wonder if The Little Big Things has the possibility of going into the Dorfman maybe in late 2025/2026? If they're trying to bring the technology up to date in there.
Their partnership for the streaming release suggests to me there's a possibility of a future life with the support of the NT and @sohoplace.
Why would The Little Big Things go to the Dorfman? It lost money during its six month run and it was a commercial production, The reason it's on NT at Home is because the producers filmed it and sold it to NT at Home.

Sadly, if it wasn't green lit after her Oscar win then it won't happen now, ith her anyway. Maybe the could digitally enhance a pro shot from the 90s and release that either her in it. If a movie does some along now someone like Catherine Zeta Jones would be ideal. A Pro shot would be unprofitable IMO I think with the Jamie Lloyd production, Paramount has a new angle to do Sunset Boulevard. The original film is so beloved that it's probably why they have been reluctant to greenlight it.

I wonder if Benjamin, Tick's son might appear in the film? Plot wise, I think the trip should be East to West so Sydney to Perth plus it's a much longer journey by bus, 42 hours compared to a mere 29 hours to drive from Sydney to Alice Springs.

I think performing on the roof is kind of risky, hopefully they have a backup just in case.

Jason Manford couldn't do it anyway as he's touring his new stand up show from late 2024.

When is the next trailer due? Depends on how many more trailers they plan to put out. A lot of movies only release 2 trailers so if that’s the plan then I wouldn’t expect another trailer until at least August or September. But if they plan to release 2 more trailers then we might get one fairly soon with a third closer to the release. Universal are putting out a Twisters movie in July and it would definitely feel like a missed opportunity to not put some kind of tie in trailer before that. “Before a twister took Dorothy to Oz..” etc etc I think Despicable Me 4 is more likely than Twisters for the second Wicked trailer, only because Twisters is a Universal and Warner Bros co production so the latter has overseas distribution,

The original London production Little Shop of Horrors was also at the Harold Pinter.

Incredible this is totally sold out 6 months ahead of performances. The power of DT eh? I wouldn't be surprised if they added another week.

With Michael Harrison involved, it's not likely to go to somewhere like the Leicester Square Theatre.
My guess is somewhere like the Trafalgar,

It's much like a lot of development where they add the theatre because they have to get planning permission.
I suspect a hotel and theatre is more financially lucrative than a cinema that has seen better days.

Hmm I would have said the Lyttleton is too big. Maybe one for the Duke of Yorks. I thought it would fit well into Hampstead theatre too. I saw this and thought it was very good. It’s just also very long so I’d probably opt for a matinee given the choice 😂. The Nöel Coward or Wyndham's would be my choices for Stereophonic.

There have been some great announcements including transfers for Red Pitch and Boys from the Blackstuff, and returns for For Black Boys... and People, Places & Things, and some nice new musicals, but overall, a bit disappointing. Too many poor fillers. There's still shows coming in the Autumn like Oedipus, Dr Strangelove, Waiting for Godot, Oliver! and Titanique plus shows yet to open soon like Fawlty Towers, Romeo and Juliet, Mean Girls Slave Play and Hello Dolly! Two filler shows is not that bad in the grand scheme of things.

If this sweeps the board, a West End production will probably be within a year or so
