Say what you like about Jamie Lloyd, he attracts the Hollywood names like no-one else. I don’t always love his minimalist reworkings but I have to admire his ability to get the public excited about seeing titles that would often be dismissed as highbrow and boring.

The Jamie Lloyd Company also continues its commitment to accessibility, offering 10,000 tickets priced at £25 and under, with 5,000 of these exclusively for under 30s, key workers and those receiving government benefits" I love that they do this!

I can already tell that this will be silly money. Brilliant casting to get young people to the theatre, though ironically about 90% of young people will be immediately priced out. It's all well and good saying there are 10,000 cheap tickets, in my experience you can never get them!

I skipped Frecknall's R&J at the Almeida, but will definitely be trying to get tickets to this!

Another theatre company has the opportunity to do a very funny thing and confuse a lot of people by casting Tom Hollander in a production of Romeo and Juliet over the summer.

Definitely looking forward to seeing this having enjoyed JL’s take on Sunset, and I did R&J at school, not seen it in years! (Still regret not managing to catch the Richard Madden and Lily James production).

When I saw the announcement I immediately thought, oh if Zendaya is Juliet then that would be just the most supreme thing ever.

Otherwise whilst I loved Sunset, I was very bored in the other JL show I’ve seen (The Seagull) so can’t quite decide whether silly money for this would be worth it or not!

I think the consensus was broadly that Cyrano de Bergerac worked v. well but The Seagull not so much.
