Just wondering if anyone's been able to get any good deals from the likes of TKTS recently? I was thinking it might be worth going there and seeing what they have on offer.

You don't need to visit to check availability, just google TKTS Leicester Square. You will see the shows available and prices for the next couple of days. You can't buy from TKTS online though, only in person. Not like the good old days when everything they had was half price plus a modest booking fee. |

Just my twopence worth, sometimes it can he worth going direct to the theatre if you're after a good deal. Day seats of course but even in advance, for Austentatious at Fortune Theatre the brilliant bloke at the box office gave me fourth row stalls seats for the same price as Upper Circle saving me over £20!

It’s a good idea for the casual theatregoer but for someone like me (and I’m sure many fellow theatreboard folks), when you have already seen a lot of shows then you run the risk of getting a duplicate for something you’ve already booked or seen recently.

I used Broadway Roulette last time I was in the NY where, if memory serves, it was $39 Mon-Thurs / $49 Fri-Sun and we were saw Beautiful and were seated in the second row of the Circle, on the aisle between side and centre blocks. Fabulous seats. Will be very interested to see how it pans out in London.

Hmmm, seems they are all the shows which do Rush tickets anyway, which range from £20-£25 (except DEH which is £30). The difference being you get to decide to go that day, without deciding in advance (weather, travel, personal circumstances) and crucially you get to essentially pick your own seat - to an extent - on Rush by judicious use of waiting.
As of 2:30pm today I could've got £25 rush seats to Mamma Mia, BttF, Come From Away and several others, or £30 stalls to DEH or £20 seats to many plays.
For £19, a saving of £6 for most shows it offers it for. The seat could be ANYWHERE in the theatre, I checked the Ts and C's and there are no refunds. I'd pay £6 more for a full price seat than £19 for the worst seat in the house.

“Black Friday” offerings from TodayTix extremely poor.
£25 tickets in the back rows of the upper levels isn’t going to cut it.

Quite disappointed too with the allocation of seats for the shows I’m interested in. Even the £50 ones aren’t great.
Only booked & Juliet. £20 for front row. In previous years I have booked at least 5 shows.

Pride and Prejudice* (*sort of) seems to have a decent deal. Top price for £35. Not quite as cheap as I'd like, but around 50% off so not bad either!

Also pretty disappointed in the seats being offered in the New Year Sale, quite a lot of shows I was interested in it looks like they are only offering the back sections of each level. I managed to find a date with some fairly decent upper circle tickets for Back to the Future (most of the tickets in the lower levels were right at the back and I don't particularly want to watch that show through a letter box), and some front stalls for Bring It On, so that's some Christmas presents sorted. In previous years they've added more availability for the public sale and then throughout the following months so I think I'll hold off on anything else.
On a positive note at least the website only broke twice for a few seconds as I was using it. I remember multiple years where it's just completely failed to cope with the demand.
