Another example of sarcasm not coming across well online.

Were you in said audience? That's me third from the right!

Do you actually get to see some willy in the finale? At the world-premiere, in Sheffield, the overwhelmingly female audience got rather more than a quick view. Image in spoilers for those of a nervous disposition.

Steve, do you regularly travel north to see productions at the world-famous Crucible Theatre?

The people around me are starstruck at Layton Williams being in the row behind me at Jamie. I don’t think they’ve recognised John McCrea. Sad to hear that. Though I suspect John McCrea is rather pleased.

It's not the get-in that will be the problem, but the get-out. You can't just take a wrecking ball to all that Grade II* listed concrete. 🙂

Don't believe a word of it, our david. What may be the dealbreaker is BurlyBeaR's insistence on a chauffeur driven limousine transporting him to and from MCR. Thinks he's too important to travel by train! 😉

I may shortly have to remove my very stylish Italian-made sweater, as I sit outside, on Sheffield's trendiest road, enjoying this pint of Irish Red bitter. 🔥🍺

Channel 5 tonight at 7.35pm (and repeated on Tuesday at 7pm).
Apparently, this is "the scandal that rocked Britain".

After eight years, Robert Hastie has announced the 24/25 season will be his last as Artistic Director of Sheffield Theatres. I'm going to miss seeing him in the home baking aisle of Marks & Spencer. Recruitment for one of the most coveted roles in theatre will begin later this month. M&S have a home baking aisle ? Really ? Which branch is that ? The branch closest to the world-famous Crucible Theatre, obvs. 🙂

Anthony Lau and Georgia Lowe gone for an *interesting* style. Press night tonight, I think, so we'll see what the reviews are like.

When I was at the world-famous Crucible Theatre earlier this year, the young woman a couple of places ahead of me at the 'ticket gate' was carrying a Zizzi's pizza box. I'm sure it wasn't her intention to continue her meal whilst watching White Christmas, but rather her leftovers from a nice meal out that she was saving for the following day's breakfast.
Being nice in the north, she was politely directed to the nearby cloakroom, where it issued with its very own ticket, the other half being affixed to the box with Sellotape, all ready for collection after the performance.

If the TV adaption goes ahead, which Baz thinks the BBC are interested in, perhaps we'll learn what more of what happened between Nikki and Poppy in the past and, trying not to give anything away, what happens to their relationship in the future.

We can confidently predict several posts in the bad behaviour thread come Christmas 2025. FOH will need to patrol the aisles of the Palace Theatre with rifles!

Those figures from Barclays need to be taken with a generous pinch of salt.
80.1% of 85 to 95 year olds don't do their own shopping, so goodness knows how they're managing to use contactless so often!?!

When a teenaged Sheridan Smith played Annie at the world-famous Crucible Theatre, John Savident was her Daddy Warbucks.
I have very few claims to fame, but I did once, literally, almost bump into him. One Saturday afternoon, I was coming down the steps out of the Royal Exchange in Manchester. As I reached the pavement, John Savident was there. We both looked at each other. He seemed to be preparing himself for me saying something. I didn't, of course.

Anyone watch episode 1 of The Way last night?.
It's the bizarre love child of James Graham and Michael Sheen, who directs. I think it's going to be over and out for me. The BBC possibly feels the same, which is why it's been scheduled for Monday nights.

Couldn't have put it better myself, our david . Anyone who thinks Bouncers is *just* a comedy is very much mistaken. Though I do have to disagree about removing the interval. That would deprive the audience of those three classic lines that close Act I. {Spoiler - click to view} Ralph get the kettle on...Les get the chocolate biscuits out...
Why?
It's the interval.

They should have reflected more on clarity in their storytelling and less on gimmicks but maybe that is just me.... Weren't you in the cast of Starlight Express?
