My work involves knowing a lot of what's going on online in various retail spaces and in pop culture, so they barely block anything. Pretty great!

What a lazy piece of programming. No doubt it’ll be a money spinner, but what with Weird Al Jankovic’s polka version,so many other spoofs of this show on You Tube and even my kid’s school doiing their own parody of it, it would have been great to see something a bit more exciting or original in this theatre for the summer. No doubt the Les Mis revolve and Annie will turn up in this somewhere too. Personally I’ve seen enough versions of Forbidden Broadway to last me a lifetime. I do enjoy FB but not at MCF prices! Also I’m not sure I want two hours of Hamilton jokes, I wasn’t enamoured by the show so do I want a fullly staged parody of it ? No! That's not really quite what it is, but ok.

You might be crazy, but you are also right.

Good news indeed. Just downloaded the CD and half way through it. There is enough non Hamilton material in it to please musical theatre fans who have not seen or heard Hamilton. The last 2 Forbidden Broadway shows were some of my favourite shows at the Menier. Would be great if they could get Anna Jane Casey, Sophie Louise Dann and Damian Humbley back again for this one. Won't all the cast have to be non-white though, if it's a Hamilton parody? Otherwise presumably there will be another round of charges of racism a la WSS. Also Anna-Jane Casey will be busy with Calendar Girls & I'm not sure I can imagine Sophie-Louise Dann or Damian Humbley doing rap songs. The entire New York cast was POC except the rotating "Diva" role, although I think sometimes she was a POC. She was kind of there to appease the OG Forbidden Broadway crowd and to give the show a bit of a break from being 100% a Hamilton parody.

I saw this somewhat early in the run here in NYC and it was obvious Alessandrini struggles much more with hip-hop rhythms and lyrics than with traditional musical theatre, but it wasn't a bad show — just not a great one. And it didn't feel as fun as Forbidden Broadway.

Last time they split the talent using London to provide enough leads to make the tour look good and gave the tour a top Valjean on top . You ended up with London having the stronger Eponine, and Thenardiers . But London also keeping a weaker Valjean and all the supposedly star names working up for the concert, , and the tour getting JOJ , plus Earl Carpenter and Katie Hall from London as Javert and Cosette, And its the London Eponine and the tour Cosette who get the roles for the concert. I know this is going off topic, but wasn't Katie Hall a last minute addition to the concert? Camilla Kerslake was originally billed to play Cosette in the concert, and went into the West End production in the run-up. But I think just a few days before the concert, it was announced that Katie would play the role. I have no idea if Camilla was ill, or just not up to it - or if they realised they needed a stronger Cosette to help carry Nick Jonas (but that's pure speculation on my part). Yep; it was pretty last-minute: www.broadwayworld.com/westend/article/Latest-Katie-Hall-To-Play-Cosette-In-LES-MISERABLES-CONCERT-20100929

Today I have a Super Mario Brothers song in my head. I don't remember if it's from the old Super Mario 2 or 3. I'll have to click through Spotify to figure it out!

I was last in the Curran to see Fun Home last year and the renovations are amazing. I love it! A good friend of mine saw Head Over Heels last week and you were much more positive than she was.

I currently have "Gimme Gimme" from Thoroughly Modern Millie stuck in my head. I blame watching the Live from Lincoln Center broadcast of Sutton Foster's concert.

It's rare that a touring house wouldn't use Ticketmaster or Telecharge for ticketing. Just go by the show's official site if you're not sure if you're on the right site for the official local presenter. And if you can't find that, they probably have a verified social media presence, at least.

I don't get why they are having three actresses play Cher at different stages of her life. Cher has looked the same for the past few decades - surely one actress and a few good wigs would be enough?! Maybe they're doing a Fun Home thing where the three people playing the same person don't necessarily have to look similar. (Yes, I know — Cher is much more famous than Alison Bechdel.)

No, but if it's something you enjoy and it's not hurting anyone else, then go for it.

Agreed! I'm fine with trailers — if there are regular commercials I'd want them to be as special as a Super Bowl ad, not something I could see elsewhere.

Make-up (non-theatrical) is insulting both to the wearer and observer. Wearing it says both that you don't feel acceptable as you really are and that others will not accept you that way either. How do you feel about clothing*? We're naked "as we really are." * not custom-made for extreme temperatures or other environmental protections; you know what I meant

Yeah, I find it hard to write off make-up on public transport as being the same as other types of grooming. If your grooming has the potential to leave things behind (toothpaste spit, toenail clippings, stray hairs, etc) then keep it to the privacy of your own home, but if you've got a steady enough hand to do your make-up on a moving vehicle and have written that into your morning routine, then I'm just going to respect you as the artistic wizard you are, and not sit quietly disapproving of you because I have decided that you can wake up half an hour earlier even though I know literally nothing about you or your pre-commuting morning routine. That's how I feel about food as well — if it leaves nothing behind, who cares? If it's not crumbly or smelly, I'm fine with you doing it on the train. I'm totally fine with lotion too, as long as it's not too scented. I always carry lotion in my purse with me, but the scented ones stay home!

Oh, I see. Thanks! I had never heard that term. It also can refer to a show that does eventually tour but that's not in its original announcement — like Les Miz in LA in the '80s and the first production Book of Mormon in Chicago.
