Considering the length, the seats and the infernal hags that haunt the theatre as ushers, I'll give this a hard pass. I'll try to muster the stamina for Women Beware Women tho. I thought it was particularly entertaining that the usher in the pit who was lecturing the poor prisoners about coats and phones and coughing and watches and talking and whispering and eating and shuffling and generally breathing before it started, kept on not-so-subtely checking her very bright smart watch throughout the first half. I didn't blame her though for this one.

Don't just take my word for it though. It's likely I was asleep at that moment. That's how riveting and well done it was Ha, I’ve heard similar reports elsewhere! But it’s a story from a country and a part of history I don’t know much about, so I thought I might learn some interesting things. And TodayTix has a £15 offer so it seemed worth a punt. There is a short storm sequence with thunder sounds and lightning flashes about two thirds into the play, it only lasts around 10/15 seconds I'd say.

Just a warning that this is very long, especially on those 'seats'. Advertised timings are:
Act 1 - 1hr 55 Act 2 - 1hr 15
They've built a walkway from the stage over the pit to the front centre of the first gallery. There are also platforms - one at the back right of the stage, and one in the auditorium both at second gallery level with ladders for the cast to get up there.
I, frankly, hated the first act and didn't stick around for the second. There were quite a few early leavers throughout Act 1 too.

Paul Merton will not be performing on the following days: Thu 23 April 7.30pm, Thu 30 April 7.30pm, Thu 07 May 7.30pm, Thu 14 May 7.30pm, Thu 21 May 7.30pm, Thu 28 May 7.30pm, Thu 04 June 7.30pm and Thu 13 to Sat 22 August (inclusive).

I was there tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it! Was gutted the transfer wouldn't include Rebecca Trehearn but Carolyn did a wonderful job. Was quite teary-eyed throughout the second act. It's a powerful story that still resonates today.
We were central stalls, but just wanted to post a warning about the extreme side stalls seats, they seemed particularly restricted for this production. Large grates/fence panels are slid around the stage and left facing the audience for several parts of the show, so those at the ends of the side stalls are left to watch the show through them. This was evident mostly on the right side, the left side is left behind the family dining table so stuck with the cast blocking lots of the show. I sat in them for Gently Down the Stream and thought they were great value, less so for this show.

If you open Chrome and Firefox and Internet Explorer on the same machine, each has a different cookie, so each gets a different number in line. If you just open say, chrome, and several windows, then it's more likely to detect you as one person. Thank you, @theatremonkey . I don't know what I'm doing wrongly, then, as what I've tried is using different browsers on the same device, eg Chrome, Edge and Firefox, but the NT system still recognises me and leaves me in the same position. It didn't matter this time anyway and if I wait for the reviews, I will at least know whether Jack Absolute is worth seeing and whether I need to book for a matinee only due to the running time. Perhaps try going into incognito/private mode on each browser next time?

Vaguely recall someone seeing some artwork on social media suggesting A German Life with Maggie was coming back for a limited season at the Bridge in the April/May gap?

Great news! Really want to see this musical.
Does this mean Rebecca won't be reprising her role though? She's in the Old Vic's Christmas Carol, which runs until 18th Jan.

Nine people in the day seat queue at 9.30am today. Did you queue up? I'd be interested to hear if they all sold out, or if standing tickets would be available later (especially with it being a two show day). I popped in at 11 today and had no problem getting a standing ticket for the matinee, they had some evening left too.

Bromley next June is the closest this tour goes to London. Any West End slot won't be till at least next July as touring till then. No Wimbledon, Milton Keynes or Woking dates, as might have been expected, but tour vists Southend twice, in November 2019 and again in June 2020. That's unusual scheduling. It's playing Milton Keynes in March 2020

Just spotted this on Delfont Mackintosh Theatres FB page Looking for Les Misérables: The Staged Concert tickets? From tomorrow, there will be 12 standing tickets available for £15 from the Gielgud Theatre box office from 10AM. They’ll be limited to 2 per person and available for that days performances. See you there!👋 They've added the leftover standing tickets to the website for tonight's performance – £17.50 though

It is true. It is on all their social media accounts. They also have put out a trailer today. Can see the trailer and further announcement note but nothing about cast recording....excellent news if it is... Looks like they might have bungled another announcement and had to delete the tweet, but it was there this morning and they've liked lots of people's excited tweets about it.

We were in A14 and A15, No worries about legroom there. Interesting. That row has always been really cramped since the place opened. Maybe they finally moved the stage back an inch or five. For this show the front of the stage is a kind of zig-zag, so some seats have more legroom, others have less. But I don't think anyone in the front row would be too cramped.

Blown away by this tonight. Great set, incredible band, timeless music and a flawless cast led by two of the finest musical theatre actors we have.
Sharon D Clarke steals the show in both acts, firstly with a spine-tingling rendition of Lover Man and then I was brought to tears by her performance of Wasted Life Blues.
Clive Rowe is just a joy to watch as always; Gemma Sutton and Debbie Kurup sing beautifully too.
We were in A14 and A15, which is right in front of Sharon's part of the set. The stage is at its highest for A13-15 and then is very low for the rest of the front row. No worries about legroom there either. I also think the side slips, particularly the lower slips will be a great view for this show.
I'll remember this one for a long time.
