But but but...I wanted the Broadway revival!
With Bette!
(Or Elaine Paige...)

I love Imelda but Dolly is not a role I would have ever imagined her playing but will probably see it. Interesting it's only a limited run but perhaps the Adelphi is lined up for something else straight after.

As one "Dolly" leaves the Strand, another will arrive! Glad this news is out in the open. Will be nice to see another production having seen the recent Broadway version 4 times.

Being fair, I was waiting for someone else to break this... It's happening at the Adelphi, but Imelda and it being a new production is news to me!

Why does it have to be Hello, Dolly is this 100%. I love the Adelphi but I don’t think Hello, Dolly will be a hit for the Adelphi.

Wow! Imelda! I am in! Only seen a really bad amateur production of HELLO DOLLY, so cannot remember it at all, but would see anything with Imelda in. Very exciting!
Do we know when the “official” announcement will be?

Sorry to disagree but this will be a hit and it will be a 5 Star sensational production. Now if only David Hyde Pierce can be persuaded to make his West End debut this will be the best show of 2020...

Let's hope she actually plays Dolly as apposed to Bette Midler who just played Bette Midler.

I wonder if she'll ask Janie Dee for advice on the part given that JD played it out of town a few years ago.

Well as it looks like we will never get Bette in London to do it this is the next best thing. I loves me some Imelda!

I guess Imelda is our biggest theatre name who's in the right age bracket. And let's not forget, she's played Miss Adelaide and the Bakers Wife (for which she won an Olivier) so she can do comedy! Interested by this new production stuff though.

Sad yet great news in that I love Imelda (and she’ll be great in this), but I desperately wanted Bette (or even Bernadette) to do it.

I’ve heard this too... not sure how the maths add up of mounting a new production for such a short run but maybe they hope it will extend.
