I do like Sydney and I have relatives live just outside it but I prefer Melbourne. I lived in Melbourne for a few years. There’s no comparison between the two, Melbourne is a hot pot of art and culture and food and just about everything you want in a city. We came back to the UK due to my mother-in-law’s untimely death, had it not been for that we would happily still be there.

You’re from Porpoise Spit! I'm from Sydney WireHangers, where Muriel escapes to and finds her new life. I know! I’m pulling your leg. I love Sydney, I used to live in Surrey Hills. My husband and I met on Oxford St where every great gay love story started.

I might finally get to see this. How weird that I will be sitting in a theatre on the other side of the world, seeing a show set in my home town! I have the cast recording #youreterriblemuriel You’re from Porpoise Spit!

Just listened to her vocals from tonight’s show - wow! Surprised she isn’t a bigger star. She would smash Elphaba!

Wow - that's incredible! Consider my words eaten. Quite a coup - have Broadway Equity ever allowed 3 out of 4 British leads to transfer before? Amazing news; though still wish was extending here instead..... The last revival of Sunset had three out of four leads transfer with the show.

I agree. She is really not up to the role. Probably the weakest I've ever seen/heard. You just quoted your own post pretending to be two separate posters, maybe worry about that instead of how Sarah is in the role… It’s week 3 of the tour, give her time! Truly embarrassing.

I find Mitchell to be a great choreographer but not that great a director so like all bets are off as to the direction this will go🤷🏻♂️ He’s definitely lost his flare for directing the last few years, and given how lazy Pretty Woman was I’m not convinced he’s the best fit for another doesn’t-need-to-be-a-musical-adaption. Fingers crossed it’s more Legally Blonde than Pretty Woman.

Certainly there will be a cast recording for the films but how do you think it would be released? An individual album for each film and then eventually release a complete recording of both films together? It was definitely be Wicked: Part One and then Wicked: Part Two, and once both films are out they’ll release Wicked: the Deluxe Edition. No doubt there’ll also be a tie in album with pop stars doing pop renditions of the songs from the movie.

May I ask, whilst I appreciate the strike that was on, has principle filming all been completed now? Doesn't sound like it, yet. I believe they're not able to do any more filming in the UK, so they must be setting something up in the US but there's been nothing yet to confirm they've started up again. I don't know if JB's 4 days of him shooting with stand-in's has taken much off the remaining 10 days of filming which needs to be done. Even if they have to do it after Xmas, they'll still be fine to make their release date, surely. I can’t remember the interview (I think it was a podcast) but Bowen Yang said he’s coming back to London to finish filming.

Love Ramin and love Jekyll & Hyde but a UK tour of this show starring Ramin doesn’t sound like it’ll do good business. I’d personally book tickets for the nearest venue but I can’t imagine many other people will. His solo tour years back sold out some big number 1 venues. Granted that was one nighters but he definitely has a fan base, and he has been away from the UK for best part of a decade (aside occasional London centric concerts). Whether his fans have moved on with him being away so long I don't know. Not saying its a guaranteed sell out, but it's not the worst idea either. Also depends who is costars are. As you said, those were one night events in a select few venues. He definitely has a fan base, which includes me, but a year long tour across the country is a different kettle of fish all together. The last tour had a very famous leading man and had West End aspirations yet flopped pretty hard. I hope it sells well! I love this show and think Ramin will sing the sh*t out of it.

Someone in the show said on Twitter that this show was destined to become the next Mamma Mia… which immediately put me off.

I absolutely adore Sweeney, having seen it in Twickenham with David Bedella about a decade ago now. I’d welcome any chance to see it on such a grand scale. Agree about AA though. As much as I love her, she shouldn’t come to the West End with that accent… Lea Salonga please. Lea played the role in the Philippines at a time I was living in Australia, and I was so tempted to fly to Manila just to see her in the show.

Any more tea or leaks ? Going to the 20th anniversary bway show very soon and have a strong feeling they’ll bring out some movie cast or show a bit of the CinemaCon stuff 🫧 Other than the odd bit of supporting casting news, no. I don’t think the CinemaCon stuff will ever be made public, it was very raw material and given the scale they want to portray I imagine they won’t want the unedited footage to be seen by anyone other what was supposed to be a small amount of people at CinemaCon.

She is, and her Norma slightly different from Nicole. They didn’t change the actress playing young Norma, for instance, who looks more like Nicole. Plus Rachel is not really a dancer. So the parallels between her young and older self are quite different. I’m having a great time! Can’t wait to hear more!

Has anyone ever hear anything about Rachel Zegler ever being involved in this film? I was watching a video by MIKE ZEROH on Youtube titled "Rachel Zegler BLACKLISTED FROM HOLLYWOOD! New Revelations From STUDIOS! This Is Severe Now" where he claims that she was to be a part of WICKED PART 2 as a "main character" but has been dropped from the film by Universal. I have NEVER heard even the slightest rumor of her even being considered for a part in this film so find the whole report very suspect. Just wondered if anybody else has ever heard this? The internet seems to be throughly against Rachel Zegler right now, and gossip vloggers are running with the idea that she’s been dropped from 5 unannounced movies. It’s likely all untrue.

Debbie O’Brien Casting have announced their casting for a production of Priscilla: The Party, based on Priscilla Queen of the Desert, which will be playing at Outernet.
I imagine it will be similar to Mamma Mia: The Party, an interactive show set within the world of Priscilla. According to thr casting call all the characters from the original show will be appearing in the new iteration.

Just booked a flight from Inverness to see the show in its last week in January based on the strength of the reviews on this page. So thanks A LOT.

I know we’ve only had one preview but what do we think Nicole and Tom’s chances at the Oliviers are?

Is anyone going to the first preview? Me and I'm nervous. My friend is fine as she doesn't know of the musical or Norma Desmond so will be interesting to get her view. You are going to be on my mind all evening. Please report back when you can!

WTF is this production?!
Is Lloyd inspiration from John Doyle’s Sweeney Todd and setting it in an insane asylum?

What a bizarre cast list. There’s three Clydes, two Bonnies, two Blanches, and people doing small stints. Unless you do a vast amount of research you’re never going to know who you will actually get.

I love the score but this show never works on stage. If we get a new recording of it then I’ll be chuffed.
