I've been geting loads of ads for a Priscilla Party opening in Soho next year. Guess they're going down the same route as the Mamma Mia party night www.priscillatheparty.com/

Got a soft spot for the show (get the Kyle Medley offically recorded, dammit!) but will hold out on what the "party" aspect entails. Can't see it making as much sense as MM given the constantly changing locations.

Debbie O’Brien Casting have announced their casting for a production of Priscilla: The Party, based on Priscilla Queen of the Desert, which will be playing at Outernet.
I imagine it will be similar to Mamma Mia: The Party, an interactive show set within the world of Priscilla. According to thr casting call all the characters from the original show will be appearing in the new iteration.

The advert on Facebook says "18 years since first opening in London"... Am I going mad? It opened in 2009 didn't it?

But have you seen the prices? Cheapest ticket is £60 and goes up to £200 for dinner, drinks etc for what is basically a drag show.

The abba version of this at the o2 is on the seat filling sites all the time. I’ve never been but £40 for a three course meal and a show seems very reasonable

Given what's been going on in Manchester at the SAW musical, I dread to think how rowdy this could be on a weekend evening.

I've been at some performances of Priscilla where the audience behaviour has been pretty bad so I can imagine what this will be like. I was initially quite excited by the idea but think I'll be giving this a wide berth.

Can see a lot more of these kinds of events being created in the future, with certain audience demographics seemingly unable to hold back on trying to be part of the production themselves these days! I have no desire to go the Mamma Mia dinner at the O2 (though the ABBA hologram show at the Olympic Park is fantastic), but I can imagine what essentially plying jukebox musical enthusiasts with alcohol for hours results in!

I am confused with their ticket website....are you just buying a ticket for the section and it's open seating in that section? I don't see a seating chart....
Is it first come, first served?

I've been at some performances of Priscilla where the audience behaviour has been pretty bad so I can imagine what this will be like. I read an interview with Tony Sheldon (who played Bernadette in Australia and London for a long time) where he said he was quite happy to leave when he did because he felt the production had lost some of the sensitivity and subtlety from the quieter moments of the show, and that audiences were increasingly treating the characters as comic figures rather than rounded characters - to be honest, they were always archetypes, but there were deeper moments in the book.

I saw the UK tour a few times and two of those times had the audience full-on laughing at the graffiti reveal, not even an awkward snicker. Left me feeling pretty uncomfortable all things considered.

Haven't heard any news about this for a while. Does anyone have any casting info or goss on this? Was indifferent to Mammia Mia the Party but i always liked the Priscilla show so split whether to book or not.

A few offers have been appearing on my Facebook page which maybe a sign it's not selling that well. I did check prices a while ago and it was quite expensive.
