Of course it isn't - he basically never posts anything which isn't already confirmed, but calls it a rumour so as not to completely pierce the planned PR strategy for release by announcing it himself. So clickbait? I’ll be honest, you don’t actually seem to have much of a valid point beyond defending your friend. Valiant, but pointless.

Humour me - if something gets alleged on here, does that not make it... a rumour? More to the point, is it not possible that multiple people have heard the same thing? I’ll humour you - if people are getting emails about it then it’s not… a rumour. It’s entirely possible people have heard the same thing, so why hide the replies?

I see that TheatreFan guy just shamelessly posted a “rumour” about the new Chicago tour that he obviously read here, like he’s somehow in the know, but then hides replies when people tell him whatever he’s posting is common knowledge. It’s the absolute lowest form of journalism.

I’m confused, but maybe it’s just this head cold I Can’t shake. If it’s out in November, surely it’s already been made? Were the original leads in the TV show? How can they edit a TV series down to be a movie? The episodes were likely 20 mins max so depending on number of episodes it could be edited down. Not unusual for vocals to be recorded after animated It does seem last minute. There is still conflicting reports on the original stars reprising. I wouldn't take social media stuff as 100% confirmation. Could be a negotiation tactic to show disney they need them. All very messy and last minute regardless. I saw some comparisons from people to some of the straight to video sequels that were originally meant to be a TV series in the 90s and 00s. Let's hope Moana 2 is better than those! There is no conflicting reports. Both stars confirmed their involvement after your article was posted. I don’t know how much more confirmation is needed than the two leads themselves confirming it. Dwayne Johnson also confirms that recording has already taken place: uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/dwayne-johnson-teases-cutting-edge-194331933.html#:~:text=I%20can

It’s interesting that the CinemaCon footage showed mainly interiors while the teaser showed mainly exteriors.
I’m not worried about the use of CGI as the interiors look insane, massive, and lived in. I also believe they’ll continue tweaking the CGI before the release date. Studios are good at listening to the feedback from teaser trailers.

Both leads have already confirmed they’re back. Oh Really, Unlike Deadline to get they wrong. Where has it been confirmed? They both posted about the film on their social media.

I imagine Wicked: Part One is a fairly good indication that the film is a two parter. Given the backlash to Mean Girls not marketing itself properly I imagine Wicked will want people to know it’s a two parter.

RE: Lin Manuel Miranda - he’s still involved in the live action remake so he’s not exactly out of the franchise. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s heavily involved in the music for the sequel even in an advisory capacity.

One of the cast members directed me in a show and was terrible at it. He truly was a disaster and has no right to direct actors, completely unsupportive to an almost cruel degree. After the opening night I packed up my things and left and never spoke to him again. So I’ll give this a miss.

Some info from someone who apparently worked on the film. They posted on BroadwayWorld.
There isn't a huge amount of difference from the stage to screen version. There are a few bits of back story, such as the film starting at Kiamo Ko in a flashback. Some scenes are added to fill in gaps, such as Elphaba, Glinda and Fiyero travelling from Shiz to Oz, on a huge Orient Express type train. Fiyero is now part of One Short Day, There are dance breaks added in places (there are some amazing scenes in the Govs. Mansion!) , some new teachers at the school to expand the animals storyline and of course the two new songs in part 2, 1 each for Glinda and Elphaba.
Glinda's song is a ballad called 'The Girl In The Bubble' and Elphaba gets a song called 'There's No Place Like Home' which is sung when she is banished from returning home and a great tie in to the original Wizard of Oz.film.
The cameo's for Idina and Kristin are in One Short Day and they play actors in the Wizomania cast.
There's no major new storylines that I recall. As Long As Your Mine is shot in a massive birds nest type set, high up in the trees. The sets are spectacular and the details in the sets and costumes are insane.
Those yellow bricks were the flimsiest paper mache bricks ever made. Look out for them in the Wizards workshop scenes too. There are also some amazing gadgets in those scenes, and the' Wizards Head', that is operated by the wizard behind the curtain, is a nassive wooden sculpture, at lease 12ft tall and it's very creepy!
Dorothy is in the film, but no more than she is in the stage show. It's not a speaking role.

I've never heard of this musical, should I have? It’s a stage version of Grease 2, the terrible (but oddly wonderful) sequel to Grease.

I’m also in this camp. She was very painted by numbers. Doing what she thought she was supposed to do rather than giving her own version of the character. Some lines that are known funny Glinda lines were delivered incredibly deadpan when I saw the show a few weeks ago in Edinburgh. She sung the songs absolutely beautifully but I think that just proves she’s all technique and no soul. It’s somewhat less noticeable because the rest of the cast are absolutely top notch but in no production should Boq and Nessa be more memorable than Glinda. The reviewer from the Bristol Post seems to disagree. I'm surprised they didn't use 'OMFG! BEST! THING! EVA!'. I just read it. I love the reviewers energy but I think their love for Wicked basically wrote the review for them.

Can someone work out/explain the photos/videos in front of a curtain, or what looks like a theatre? Is it just for promo? Is it part of the film? The Elphaba/Glinda silhouette looks similar to the part when they enter the Wizard’s palace from the CC footage. However, I’d bet money that they’re doing photoshoots for marketing.

It’s a shame they’re only doing a concert because they’re a Gomez and Morticia I’d believe.

It was a no fly show this afternoon (In more ways than one!) Not only was there no bubble or defying gravity (These things happen!) but this new tour cast features a leading performance from SARAH O’CONNOR which inherently is not working. At best she feels strangely miscast, at worst she can’t land a joke, her characterization is tepid, the performance just isn’t reading on stage how it should be, it’s too understated, too dull, too awkward. They’ve hired an actor who does not have funny bones. Sadly I agree, hits all the right notes vocally but her Glinda is incredibly wooden and just the epitome of a posh uni girl who maintains that character throughout the whole show. I miss Helen Woolf.. give us an exuberant Glinda who’s not afraid to camp it up! Glinda is supposed to be funny. Is this poor direction yet again or just her portrayal? Some of the comedic timing moments were missed annoyingly and I didn’t feel as if she showed much emotion when Elphaba melts either. Really a shame as there’s so much potential. Carl however was fab, it’s very refreshing to watch a Fiyero who can do the bare minimum of dancing AND singing 😮. I’m also in this camp. She was very painted by numbers. Doing what she thought she was supposed to do rather than giving her own version of the character. Some lines that are known funny Glinda lines were delivered incredibly deadpan when I saw the show a few weeks ago in Edinburgh. My prediction is a drag queen from the telly doing a Cher impression. Oh god. I could book based on the Cher character alone, but I could also avoid it like the plague based on the Cher character alone.

EDIT: They’re teasing someone on Twitter now. Something is definitely coming.

Plenty of people been nominated for Tony's and aren't good! But that isn’t the case here.

Oh I thought this was abysmal. A prime example of when people say they hate musicals - after this I'd agree. Renee can sing, Moana can sort of sing, no one else can. What an odd thing to say when Tony and Grammy-nominated singer Jaquel Spivey is part of the cast.

What a joy.
Not perfect film but just a decent, silly film that you could watch in your PJs with a hangover.

I saw it a couple of days ago and on the whole I enjoyed it, but I'm surprised by how much they toned down the queer aspects, which in turn diminishes the impact of I'm Here. Very good cast, especially Brooks. I agree. I’m glad it’s a lot more obvious than the original movie but it wasn’t as prominent as it is in the musical, which in turn really makes I’m Here a bit pointless. I thought the movie was stunning but actually found the songs the weakest part of it. I thought the acting was so strong I found myself wanted to see a full on remake with the cast rather than a musical. Danielle Brooks is STUNNING. Oscar nom for sure.

Something I did notice was Carl is in the ensemble for the opening number. Is that a usual thing or is it just for this tour to boost the numbers? No it’s in the west end production too - in the west end Fiyero will run forward to the cog on the left hand side. Boq is on the left hand side platform then Nessa and Dr dillamond are on the stairs on the other side. I’m not 100% we’re they are on tour but everyone in the cast bar Elphaba, Wizard and Morrible is on stage for no one mourns the wicked. Dr dillamond will be in the ensemble for March of the witch hunters but the other principals aren’t. Not sure if dillamond would do it on tour as he’s also wizard. Ahhh! That’s really interesting! I had no clue. I’m only able to recognise Carl which is why I spotted him. I’ll need to try and spot the others next time I visit the show!

The orchestra were all over the place tonight. Started incredibly slow during No One Mourns the Wicked, there was a few awkward seconds where Sarah said her line and had to wait for the slow orchestra to catch up with her. Then they raced through the rest of the show to the point where Casey lost her place in Defying Gravity twice.
That aside. Very slick production. Sarah is good, misses a lot of the humour in act one but she fits the role more in act two when Glinda is more stoic. Casey is tremendous, my god! She was an absolute joy to watch. I think she’s got a little more growing into the role to do but I wouldn’t be surprised if she becomes lead Elphaba after this. Carl is very, very good. Finds a lot of the humour in the role in a way I haven’t seen any of my previous three Fiyeros do - and his voice is like butter. It’s a shame the era of boy bands is gone as he’d have fitted into a boy band like a glove. Strong supporting cast. Excellent ensemble. This truly is a really strong production. I’ve seen arguments that the show needs updating and/or restaging - and I disagree. I think it looks fab, I’d maybe update the odd piece of set and bring more modern stage magic into the fold but I think everything else looks brilliant. Except the dragon. I’ve seen amateur productions of Shrek with better dragons.
Something I did notice was Carl is in the ensemble for the opening number. Is that a usual thing or is it just for this tour to boost the numbers?
