It is Woke HQ and has been hijacked by the radical left and has lost its spark. What does woke mean when you are saying it in these terms about the Globe? How has it been hijacked by the radical left? Please can someone who just tell me the facts what is it about the productions/venue.

What do you mean when you say woke? I remember going to a bunch of Globe productions a few years ago before Michelle was the Artist Director. And if you mean had a variety of a cast members in the production it was like that when I went. Because that's all woke means is awareness racial prejudice & discrimination and awareness of social inequality within gender and sexual orientation. How can anyone be against that.
I can't watch this video on my phone. I am just wanting to know what parts of the Globe productions over the few years that you are concidering woke? Just say it as it is.

I haven't seen any ghosts... yet. I remember the first time I went to Haymarket Theatre and I don't know why but walking in to the stalls seemed to take a while just kept turning corners and there wasn't a door to get to the stalls. I felt really uneasy.
It also didn't help that an usher sat at the back on the row right behind me and my friend and half way I could hear this noise turned around to see her on hands and knees on the floor between the seats and she didn't pick up anything either like she could have dropped something. Then she disappeared I never saw her when the show finished telking people where to go.
I don't know if anyone went to see Hangmen? I have seen way to many TV shows or films where they have play within the story and someone gets hung and it goes wrong. The very first Hangmen show was cancelled due to tech issues. It could have been anything. But when I finally got to see it I have never been so scared to watch someone get faked hung onstage. Every time I saw it the audience gasp. And there was a moment of silence and when they carry on... phew. Nothing as far as I know ever happened but thats a scary thing to watch.

Since it's coming up to my favourite time of year...
Has anyone been to a show (any sort of show) and something weird, odd or strange has happened either in the show or in the audience?
- Have you seen a ghost - ghosting around?
- Have you felt uneasy at a theatre and couldn't really explain it?
- Has anything gone wrong in a show and it was weirdly specific or unusual? Might be coinsidence might not?
- Or even things that have meant to happen in shows that make you uneasy?
I do remember reading in posts about people seeing ghosts and just starting a topic of the scary kind and hear others stories.

Under Michelle Terry, it became Woke HQ 2-3 years ago or even longer now. There's an audience for it but, for now at least, only small venues, imo. What do you mean when you say woke? I remember going to a bunch of Globe productions a few years ago before Michelle was the Artist Director. And if you mean had a variety of a cast members in the production it was like that when I went. There might be that but when I have applied to all the big banks I was told to supply a passport because I assume the credit checking system they use tells them I have had no credit information or lack credit information so I have to supply them with with photo ID. I don't have utility bills because I live with my dad and can't get a contract phone under my name. I had the same issue when I signed up to view the credit information and found they wouldn't let me view it until I prove who I was. As people have stated I know why this is in place because of fraud and that. I have tried to get a tax notification but they wont send it to me I don't know if its because I don't earn enough or what. If you pay tax you can get a tax notification. If you are employed you will get a P60 annually. You will have a tax code and thus receive official HMRC correspondence with your name, address and national insurance number. I also see no reason why your father cannot let you transfer one utility bill into your name if this is truly an obstacle to getting a bank account. If you work, your employer is supposed to ensure you have the right to work in the UK. How did you prove that without a passport? I’m very surprised your employer actually pays you without a bank account. I have a savings account that was started for me when I was a baby. Its the only account I have and I said previously about Santander. I only have to supply my birth cert NI card and most recent bank statment (which is yearly) for my job. So all my money goes into that. I don't get a tax statement because when they fixed my tax code from emg BR code I now don't pay tax. I used to get one and about a grand back each April/May. But I have contacted them and can't get it sent.

There is absolutely no legal requirement to provide photo ID when setting up a bank account. Barclays, for example, will accept a HMRC tax notification as proof of identity and a utility bill as proof of address. There might be that but when I have applied to all the big banks I was told to supply a passport because I assume the credit checking system they use tells them I have had no credit information or lack credit information so I have to supply them with with photo ID. Sounds like there are several obstacles that need to be worked through methodically. There’s a birth certificate by the sounds of it which is a good start to things. You’re also employed and paying tax and NI and on the electoral roll which all seems positive. I’d definitely get registered with a GP aswell (if you still haven’t done that) because as “responsible professionals” doctors can often be used to vouch for people’s identity. I agree CAB might be a good place to start and let them refer as necessary. www.citizensadvice.org.uk/debt-and-money/banking/there’s also this www.moneyhelper.org.ukRemember that banks are not just being difficult for the sake of it, there are very strict rules about identity to prevent money laundering and other criminal activities. But lots of children are born to unmarried parents, lots of people come to this country with no documentation and end up working and having bank accounts. None of the problems mentioned should be insurmountable, it’s just a matter of getting the right advice. I have tried the CAB before and it wasn't as helpful as I thought it would be. I will check out the other link its the first I have heard of that one.

All prepaid cards I have aplied for I need to supply photo ID. I haven't been refused outright they want me to supply photo ID. The only thing I was completely refused for was the Splash Card. I have posted a long post to say I can't get a passport. I not able to drive either. I would have thought given your dad is biologically your father you could get a DNA test and do a statutory declaration regarding the results to use to get you a passport or some form of ID, but you should get down to your local Citizens' Advice Bureau to get set up with some proper specialist advice. Certainly sounds like something that specialist advice could solve and that needs to be solved sooner rather than later to make your life easier. Wishing you luck! I just searched for this and it mostly concerns disputes with children. I don't know if nearly 40 will be applicable. Also a few of the links I clicked on for DNA testing need the mothers DNA. General ones look expensive some more than I earn a month.

It sounds like you need specialist legal advice, as in proper specialist advice rather than a general-purpose consumer helpline or an underpaid clerk behind a counter. There are procedures in place to handle exceptional situations, and when you're dealing with a country with tens of millions of people it almost always turns out that your situation isn't so exceptional after all. Documents do get destroyed, information does get lost, and there are ways to overcome the problems, but it needs a specialist to know what those ways are. I was told this before but I have literally no idea on any of it who to contact and I assume I have to pay. I post things sometimes on Facebook Newpaper comments in the hope someone has had something like that happen to them and they found a solution. Nothing ever comes up except one person suggested illegal stuff 😒.

Yes, but our member Kim was given suggestions about non credit options a while back and wasn’t able to get one of those either. That’s why I’m trying to get a bit more of an idea of what the reason is. Hard to suggest further solutions otherwise. Ok, I am not sure why she is finding it hard to get a debit card. I don't know of anyone who has been refused a debit card. If you have a bank account with any of the big banks, they all come with debit cards. Prepaid cards are very easy to get. All prepaid cards I have aplied for I need to supply photo ID. I haven't been refused outright they want me to supply photo ID. The only thing I was completely refused for was the Splash Card. I have posted a long post to say I can't get a passport. I not able to drive either.

I don't live off the grid I just have always lived with my dad ever since my mother left me as a baby. They were never married and my dad is biologically by not legally my dad. I need my mother information to apply for a passport. My dads wont do because he is not legally my dad. I don't have information on her I dont even know when she was born and the info on my birth cert says she changed her name to my dads name. A woman I used to work with her son was doing his passport and because she changed her surname when he was born and there was no documents on this she had to supply in writing to say that it was her because she had to supply her passport for the application. So I will assume that name changes and no documents pose an issue.
Sadly the goverment don't care about family matters I still need her information. It was too late when I realised this because up until 18 you can get a debit card without photo ID. Even now. Because I have lived at home with my dad (although orginally it was my grandparents who lived there and I was living with them and my dad) I have never lived anywhere else. And cards I have applied for I have needed to supply photo ID because there is anyway a discrepancy with my application. I have tried to do one of those credit score things and STILL wouldn't work. I am on the electoral roll and I had a student loan but none of this helps me. I have never earned enough to pay back my student loan and I can't make payments because I don't have a card to do that.
I was set up with just a saving account when I was a baby. But while I use it I am in the same boat that I don't have ID to prove its mine. My card got lost (later found at home). I had to go into Santander with my cash passbook which I hadn't used for years. Because its sign I dont need ID for it thankfully but the cashier was very forceful that I need to have a debit card because I was using the account alot and it was unsual. I told him that I couldn't get a passport because of my mother. He took my cash passbook talked about me to someone and said that I would only be able to get one with a passport. I was really upset because I thought he was going to take my book and shut my account. I would loose a lot more inc my job. I have been too scared to do in I have wanted to go in to ask again. But even online it says that you need photo ID to open a current account.
As I said every time I do this I have the same issue. With the Splash card that was suggested to me my application was rejected as soon as I applied. I emailed them to ask and they wouldn't tell me.
Also I don't have anyone to cosign a passport anyway I don't know many people and they either aren't in a profession that is applicable.

I know people are posting that they don't use cash and that. But you have to think of people who can't use cards or can't get cards when you are doing this. The more and more it happens people are going to phased out of being able to live - full stop! If companys cut off that resource for people now in shops many shops aren't taking cash. So I am living on a edge that when my phone breaks or my cooker breaks I can't get a new one because all the companies have decided that money is dirty. As consumers that I am assuming have a conscience have to really stop thinking of themselves otherwise I literally have no future.

I have given up on the idea of going back to theatre and if it goes cashless then I don't have and can't get a debit card. Someone suggested a card and tried to apply and I was rejected. I don't hold any hope for my future to be honest.

I don't have a GP or photo ID I know the app you have to provide photo ID to register the app and that. So my theatre days are over. That if they just want the app though I know a lot of people are getting a letter. I don't have a GP so I don't know if I could do that.

I know a lot of people here hate and I am not debating that. But I do love a bit of "stage dooring".
Saying that I follow the general musical facebook groups and I don't know why but a fair few posts crop up from time to time with people asking if they can still do that. As if everything has magically returned to normal. I personally wouldn't even go when I had a cold risk of spreading that around to performers let alone in current situation.
A lot of people have posted usually that they aren't allowed to at the moment. I just keep seeing these posts and think is common sense not a thing anymore.

Is contactless essential, Kim_Bahorel , or could you get by with a chip and pin card? If the latter, what about a Splash card. It's a bit complicated to begin with, but nothing insurmountable. There are no credit checks and, unlike the Post Office card, you don't need a passport or driving licence, though I think you do need to be on the electoral roll. The fees could be lower, so it's probably best if used sparingly, but if it stops you from becoming financially excluded, it may be worth investigating further. Even if theatres go completely cashless, you should be able to book tickets online, and probably in person once BOs reopen in due course. www.splashplastic.comBTW, I have no connection with Splash, just a TB friend trying to help. 🙂 Been trying to get one of these cards and all it keeps telling me is that my application was unsuccessful. 😔

I wouldn't ususally do this.
I am concerned about a friend who lives near Liverpool and a board member. I have been trying to contact her email but no reply and she hasn't logged in to TB since September. I sent out a tweet (she isn't on it but looks at my page). My phone has replaced her number with one of my work mates so I can't ring her up. I don't know if she has lost access to her account or email or internet. Have no idea. If you are looking here Christine, give me a missed call mobile or home phone.
This can be locked please don't delete it yet.

When I was off work I saved more now I am back at work and on minimal hours not so much. Saying that the chance of me going to see a show again if they decide to all go contactless is zero. I have not got and can't get a debit card. If I was able it would probably be one of those basic ones without contact payment. But I can't even get one of those either. I just REALLY wish it wasn't Pretty Women as the last thing I saw. I wouldn't have minded but only went for one actor and he was off that day. It’s worth looking into the pre-pay debit cards. A lot have contactless now, I have one as a backup card. They all have slightly different rules but it’s an option. I don’t think the theatres will go truly contactless though, but who knows! I have looked you either need a card to be able to use it or pay for it or they use credit checks and because I fail so I need to supply a passport which I don't have. I have looked at them all tried to apply and was blocked.

Just out of interest, has anyone else worked out what they have saved by not having access to theatre and culture over the past 7 months? I mean we would all rather it was there, for many reasons, but I was working it out yesterday and I think that by the time theatre resumes in any way normally, which I imagine will be spring (and I'm not risking it on the whole before then) , I think I will have saved upwards of 4 thousand pounds on tickets, travel, accommodation, food, drinks and merch ect. It's actually scary to me that's how much I spend. I never even batted an eyelid about the costs of going to the theatre/events until I worked this out. When I was off work I saved more now I am back at work and on minimal hours not so much. Saying that the chance of me going to see a show again if they decide to all go contactless is zero. My dad has been able to get a 60+ card for nearly 5 years now but was never able to do it because its online and my dad doesn't do any online business and you need to pay online. I couldn't because I don't have a debit card. God knows if he even has the right ID for a 65+ one because they said that was a form he could fill out but he doesn't have a passport or drive.

I got locked out of my account kimbahorel because it is connected to an email that I deleted and now can't cant log into it because I had auto log in and forgot my password. But oddly the issues I had in this one was I couldn't log and couldn't change my screen name. But managed both. I spent a day doing the password change of everything and realising it is a pain to change passwords esp on google. Trying not to think about work tomorrow because I am super paranoid about having to manage the door of my shop and not get abused.

I don't know how theatres will sustain being able to afford everyone they are employing while having limited capacity. I assume before all thses tickets for show ls sold out they were expensive. I personally not thinking about anything so much. If they stick with online booking I wont be able to go to a theatre again. It's bad enough with trying to buy things I need right now.

It occurred to me the other night - do the girls who play Young Cosette and Young Eponine just go home after their scenes? They don't bow at the end. And is Young Eponine an alternate for Young Cosette? Or do they cast a child to just come and be sung at on stage? Yes if it's an evening show they leave after their scenes. I have seen the two girls bow for matinee shows. Young Eponine is a cover for Young Cosette. They can do the scenes without the Young Eponine (I have been there when Young Ep was missing. Mme Thenardier just speaks to stage left)
