According to the other palace on Instagram we can expect an announcement at 12pm tomorrow - is this the next thing to replace Heathers in the main house or perhaps a longer run in the studio?

According to the other palace on Instagram we can expect an announcement at 12pm tomorrow - is this the next thing to replace Heathers in the main house or perhaps a longer run in the studio? I had a Friends of TOP email yesterday to say an announcement for the Studio is coming today, so I’m assuming Millenials will have a run in the Studio, potentially for a good portion of summer.

Just got the email about this now.
Millennials is a brand new British musical that turns up the microphone on the lives, losses, and frustrations of young people.
A generation that is so often defined by tabloid headlines, tweets and, of course, avocados, has picked up the mic and transported us inside their extraordinarily ordinary lives.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Your ticket to Millennials grants you entry to the Studio, which will be transformed into an immersive theatrical event. Doors open 30 minutes prior to show start.
If you have any access requirements, including if you require a seat for the duration of the performance, please contact the box office prior to booking your ticket on 0207 592 0302 or email tickets@theotherpalace.co.uk. Seating will be guaranteed in the Galleries.
Each ticket includes 1 complimentary can of Vodka & Soda from our friends at &SODA. The venue operates Challenge 25, so please ensure to bring your ID to redeem your complimentary &SODA drink. Soft drink alternatives will be provided.
They're clearly honing in on the Heathers audience wondering what to do with themselves once it closes.

Could we have one new show announcement that doesn't have the word 'Immersive' in it?! 🤣🤣🤣

It is good that millennials are finally getting a chance to be heard.
They have been so overlooked.

Right! Who do the kids think are cool? Who has bugged everyone on twitter the most over the past couple of years? Lets mix them all together, pay lip service to a load of woke issues to a no doubt derivative soft rock, tune free score. And call it something buzzwordy like ‘identify’…no…I know Millenials!!! Gah!

If you don't want to see it, you don't have to see it. But it's going to employ people at a time our industry is suffering. Just because you find "woke millennial" insufferable, doesn't mean you need to trash a brand new show without having even seen it. My God.

To be fair I'd say its Gen Z that are more the activist brigade on Twitter that have driven the 'culture wars'. Depending on which framework you use for the generation divide millennials are broadly late 20s through to 40, gen z late teens into early 20s. I was surprised to learn that in some definitions I could be just about classed as a millennial at 40.

I personally am only going if it is "diverse", "immersive" and "relevant". If the quota of "diversity", "immersion" or "relevance" is in any way not to my satisfaction, I will mutter furiously into my soy decaf grande latte and complain bitterly on Twitter about the injustice. Then I'll wake up screaming from my nightmare, and thank the stars that I didn't grow up a millennial.

I’d love to be proved wrong as I really like Hannah & Ivano and can’t wait to see them fly. There’s not necessarily anything wrong with knowing what you’re going to get before you get it, but come on….Try harder. And don’t give me the ‘it’s giving people jobs’ nonsense. There are auditions going on year round for any number of productions. I hope it is fantastic.

Luke Bayer, yay!
And just think, if Heathers is short of people again, I'm sure they can find a way for Hannah Lowther to run upstairs and save the day.
It's a brilliant cast all round. They are all popular and talented. Many of my favourite stars from different previous productions.
I'm not that sold on it being a song cycle, rather than a proper musical though. £32 a ticket for a 75 minute show, with most of this sold as unallocated standing spots, is going to be a hard sell. But maybe this is the cool cast who can make it work.

Perhaps I'm just being naive, but I'm quite shocked by some of the comments above, made by people who haven't seen the show and yet feel qualified to pass a damming verdict on it. What happened to if you feel something isn't for you, just move along?

I still don't fully understand what makes a show immersive but all I care about is having a seat in which I can relax, not have to move and just enjoy the performance. I'll book a seat in The Gallery area for this one.
I don't mind being spoken to or asked to say something in the course of a show (happened at Anyone Can Whistle) but if anyone tries to get me to do anything else, or go on stage, I will just politely and clearly say No Thank You. I doubt if any professional performer would pursue an individual beyond that.
I was impressed at one provincial theatre where a warning appeared when I booked a front row seat that there was some audience interaction and if I didn't want to be involved to let them know which I did A cast member with a microphone passed along the front row during one musical number but missed me and one other person out.

What happened to if you feel something isn't for you, just move along? Please don’t worry. What happens here is that something gets announced and some members will take an immediate stance, positive or negative. That’s fine, it’s a discussion board not a fan site. When the show opens and turns out to be brilliant (if that’s what happens) some people may have to eat their words. It happens time and time again. Bat, &Juliet, BTTF etc etc. It’s not malicious it’s just people speculating and having fun with the gossip.

As long as we can actually discuss them with reasons for our likes & dislikes it all flows nicely. When people just state opinions as fact it is more likely to wind people up.

I love the contrasting opinions, everyone is entitled to their view. My only dislike of any forum discussion is when people police the chat.

I'd like to be more positive but having watched that I'm just left thinking 'huh' I’ll be honest, I couldn’t hear many of the lyrics hearing it in person. I felt Luke was singing it too high and what I could hear didn’t really do much for me I’m afraid. It’s not convinced me to get a ticket.
