I couldn't really hear lyrics and none the wised what the shows about or the tone of it. As an advert its pretty poor.

Song sounded like it might be good but he performed that terribly. Exactly what I wanted to say. I'll trust it'll be better in the theatre (I have to, I've booked for it!).

I can find reference to Millennials the Musical being performed at the Lowry some time in the past, directed by Luke Shepherd. It looks like it was part of sone kind of festival for new works. It has the same book writer so it’s deffo the same show.
There’s another one with the same title that was performed in the US but which had different writers. Very confusing.

It has the same book writer so it’s deffo the same show. Millennials was part of MT Fest 2021 at the Turbine Theatre (unfortunately I saw it and it was terrible). All of the shows that were performed there went on a "virtual tour" to regional venues, meaning that you could purchase the recording and watch it on specific dates from each venue's website, so that's probably why you found it there.

I take it that Rob Madge won't be in for the final six performances as they have "My Son's a Queer (But What Can You Do)" on in Edinburgh

On her show yesterday afternoon, Elaine Paige played Lisa Olivant singing 21st Century Girl. Probably a better advert for the show...and the lyrics were perfectly audible.

In one of those bizarre twists of fate, I see that Luke Latchman has taken over from Ivano Turco.
Wishing Ivano a speedy recovery.

I wonder it they’ll try to actually create a narrative out of this. When I saw it at the Turbine, it really looked like a work in progress - like they were trying out some songs but would add some sort of book to the show at some point. If the song cycle format remains the same, this is probably not gonna be not my thing.

Logo for the show still says “pop song cycle” so assume that it is still that. I wonder it they’ll try to actually create a narrative out of this. I'm a bit clueless on this one - what is a song cycle, exactly? Will they just perform songs without a plot (and is this in character?) or is there some kind of connecting thread?

A Song Cycle is a pretty nebulous term but it's essentially a bunch of unconnected songs but they all share a common theme of some kind. Think Songs for a New World or Myths and Hymns. But then Ghost Quartet is called a song cycle and that has a narrative no matter how convoluted so it really depends on the show but generally they have little to no narrative through line.

I would think we are standard song cycle sans book. They are not crediting a book and The Other Palace isn’t the centre for radical stepping up of productions. Assume we are getting the prior production with a ball pit. I'm a bit clueless on this one - what is a song cycle, exactly? First preview over. A gentle enough song cycle that won’t offend anyone. All done by 7:40pm - and that was with a late start and a show stop. I’d imagine they could run through in 55 minutes and the audience could make the start of Heathers with practice.
The included drink is a nice tough. I was lucky enough to be one of the few attendees who didn’t need to show ID.
The transformed studio looked stunning. Get there early if you want a space in the ball pool or bath. I think everyone got a place of some kind to put their bottom on. I managed to get a stool.
A few actors in too. And a former star of Heathers who discovered how easy it was to have a drink poured over them.
The songs worked fine, but if there was a story to the cycle it passed me by. There were some audio problems, plus the show stop where the cast talked with the audience.
Lots of balls get thrown about, so prepare to dodge. If you ever wanted to Luke Bayer’s balls in your face, here’s your chance.
There’s even a trampoline built into the stage. A few near misses, so hope they get through the run without a broken ankle.
It has my two favourite Jamies in!
I’ve nearly cleaned off all the silly string.
In all fairness, rather bizarre and I rather enjoyed the experience. I have no idea why! But I’m also not a millennial.

WoS have a walkthrough tour of the 'set' on their Instagram. To me it just looks like the production team have made a conscious decision to try distract the audience, from whatever shortcomings the show may have.
