June 21st* and the end of restrictions

The issue of masks will be decided by the government. We will be advised whether masks will be needed or not and in what circumstances. For those who wish to go against the ruling or device then the rule of law and decency will need to come into play. We have come so far now so I can't understand the impatience or unwillingness of some .

There is no "think" about it, it's a statement of fact. You believe that not wearing a piece of fabric over your mouth is more important than my death. My mother losing her son. My sister losing her brother. One wears a mask to protect others not yourself. I wear one to protect you, but you won't do the same. Because you are monstrously selfish. Hope I've cleared that up for you. 

Removing the mask IS a personal attack. If you didn't want to be called selfish you shouldn't be selfish, it's literally that easy. "The government man said I wouldn't have to so I'm not gonna wahhhhh". Grow up and take some responsibility for yourself and those around you. Again, you believe your dislike of a piece of cloth trumps my not wanting to die. If you think the reflects badly on you maybe you should change your stance? And if you think it doesn't reflect badly on you maybe you are beyond hope.

I'm looking forward to not wearing a mask, when people are actually vaccinated so I know I won't infect them and they won't infect and no more people have to die or lose loved ones. I've been perfectly clear on that but given your comprehension skills would give a plank of wood a run for its money I'm not surprised you didn't pick up on it.

Not a fan of masks and have always understood that wearing a mask was to protect others and will out of respect continue to do so until instructed otherwise which will be when everyone who wants a vaccine has had the opportunity to have one. I am fortunate that in a few weeks will have had both doses but out of respect for those not as fortunate as me wearing a mask for a few extra weeks is a small price I am willing to pay.

We now know that infection is primarily airborne in enclosed spaces in which we spend a lot of time, which by definition sitting in a Theatre and if wearing a mask will reduce the risk of infection even if only slightly when you consider the thousands of people who will attend over the Summer the potential of saving of one life makes it worthwhile.

Also when I start commuting on Public Transport especially over winter will continue to wear one voluntarily.


Once all who want a vaccine have been vaccinated and risk becomes a personal choice then the wearing of masks becomes a personal choice. Let the ones who don’t want a vaccine take the full risk whilst the vaccinated know that living normally has the same if not smaller risk of infection and death than Flu.

Your opinion is your opinion and mine is mine indeed. You are entitled to give yours and I am entitled to give reasons why it is incorrect and what the sort of person holding that opinion entails. That is free speech. Freedom to say what you like, not freedom from the consequences of what you say.

Unfortunately neither science nor the virus particularly care about your opinions on what you feel you should be allowed to do. Playing the victim whilst wanting the to infect people with a virus would be funny if it wasn't so vile.

Tough. I'll say it again for those not paying attention. If someone is stupid, selfish, and ignorant enough to refuse to get vaccinated against the virus which has basically ruined all of our lives for more than a year, they can stand outside with their noses pressed against the glass watching the rest of us get back to normal for all I care. I don't care if they never fly again, never visit a restaurant, never go to a football match or sit in a theatre. Providing that there is a provision in place for those who, through no fault of their own, cannot be vaccinated so that those people don't miss out, the antivaxxers can proceed directly to hell.

I couldn't give less of a damn whether you or anyone else think that opinion is 'disgusting'.

It's only for living if you aren't dead. Young people can die of Covid too, and none of us know what underlying health conditions we may have undiagnosed! Or how we might react in terms of long Covid, which could very much restrict living.

Or that people we love may have/how they might react - this is as much about not giving it to other people as it is about not getting it ourselves. Having the vaccine doesn't mean you don't spread it either, or that you can't still get it.

But if you want to put your family and friends at risk and live with that on your conscience because you can't be bothered with a couple of safety measures that are nothing more than a minor inconvenience for a couple more months until everyone has been offered a vaccine then that is of course your prerogative.

No-one is advocating masks and social distancing forever, just asking for people to have a tiny bit more patience until the vaccine rollout is done. It's not difficult.
