Well other than Max swearing at the end of his routine...
Harvey delivered a very strong salsa. Real panache and performance.
Ranvir was even more pedestrian than usual. Thankfully her score was more reasonable
Max was slightly too effortful but did deliver some good moments
JJ struggled with the jive. I think that his injuries made that sort of dance particularly challenging. Loved that he danced in his uniform.
Maisie... too much faff at the start and quite clunky at times. No way was that a 9 Anton...

Bill has great swag and presence. There were sync issues but he could well win this.
Caroline danced nicely. She is struggling to shine though.
Jamie danced a lot better than I thought possible. The music really helped but he delivered.
Clara had the perfect music and clever choreo. But she didn't sell the style or the technique. There was not that much swivel. Overmarked as Charleston often is.

Interesting that Bill can do the fast stuff really well. Will they give Caroline a chance to shine and not put her in those dull dresses and dark lighting? I am shallow but these things matter. Bling helps. Maisie was undermarked. Craig definitely not in a good mood to begin with. Why wasn’t there a group dance this week?

They have given her what I call frumpy dresses. Yes she needs space to move her legs but the top can be so much better not to mention the colour. She needs a bright emerald colour with a stiff over the bust shape and then definition down to he waist with some swing below that. And a shimmer so a satin type fabric. She is not going for dyed hair, great but they can enhance the grey and cut a cool shape. Just saying give the gal some sass.

Far too stiff and the concept was dreadful. It wasn't 4 points better than Ranvir as they both had the same issues. Caroline wasn't good either, far too much gapping and her footwork was all over the place. If she'd had a bright costume this week the gapping would have been even more obvious. I thought Craig's scoring was pretty accurate all night except for him undermarking Bill. And I thought the 10s for Clara were justified but it was right she didn't get a full house, so even his 9 for her was fair. Bill and Clara were fabulous, the rest not so much. HRVY in particular barely deserved the 8 he got from Craig, let alone a 10, and I thought Jamie's Samba had far too much wandering around or shimmying rather than proper dance steps. I thought JJ was really charming. It wasn't the best Jive in the world but a really clever routine from Amy and it felt undermarked compared to those above him - I would have put him above Max at least. |

Totally. I haven’t been paying that much attention before tonight but has Caroline actually had a Latin yet? She's had a paso, but no "party" Latin. I believe Max said "****in' get in". You'd have never had that sort of thing when Bruce was in control. Mainly because it would have been drowned out by "didn't he do well?". 😄 |

Watched it last night. Must admit I didn't hear vMax swear/ I've actually watch the short interview with Claudia after the dance and must admit, still didn't hear it.
Why was there no group dace?
Where was Most? If she was available to Skype/Zoom, why not to judge?
HVY and Bill are both good aren't they? I didn't know that Jeanette was Cuban.
I thought that both Dianne and Clara's dresses, were both perfect!
Clara really stepped up didn't she?
I think the CGI computer graphics are really working well.
I still think that Karen has a tough job resigning in Jamie's enthusiasm

Motsi didn't judge because it is impossible to watch footwork properly over a camera. Same reason Bruno hasn't judged all series. Bill is good, I find HRVY overrated (that salsa was worth 7, definitely not a 10). Janette has Cuban heritage but was born and raised in Miami, Florida. I hate the CGI graphics, they just look amateurish. Karen is too loud as well as Jamie, she won't be reining him in! |

Gorka is very distracting this year. The blond suits him.
Maisie is the stronger dancer but that routine wasn't strong. 20 seconds out of the 90 contained no dance at all. Len would have called them out for that.

I thought Anton did a really good job as a judge, would like to see him in the role permanently rather than always being given the comedy routines with a partner who isn’t going to get further than the first couple of weeks.
Bill and Oti’s was my favourite routine. He’s got such good musicality and presence, a real surprise this year.
Over-marking is getting a bit much this year, the 10’s are starting to lose their meaning.

Watched it last night. Must admit I didn't hear vMax swear It was at the end of the dance, a very loud 'Effing get in!', but if you watched on the iplayer, you won't hear it, they drowned it out with clapping. Watching live, it was very obvious. |
