Well that was the right result. Weakest dancer went Next week should be Jamie v Nicola but I suspect Nicola will be given the showier dance to give her a boost. The BBC will not want her to go out for another couple of weeks Which means Clara is in danger. Hopefully Clara (& more importantly her professional) will up their game so the final weeks aren’t totally white and off of the telly. What!! Clara in trouble?? Nooooooo.

For some reason, the show doesn't seem that keen on Clara. Everybody I know in real life likes her and (while admitting her hold in the VW wasn't good), thinks her tango was hampered by the music. I thought she was a bit undermarked.

Clara has had the most negative criticism of the remaining contestants.
That is why she could well be in trouble.

I am not a fan of Bill. Despite the fact that he is (clearly) a very multi-skilled performer, I am not a fan of his comedy, delivery and of his 'personality' status.
But that'a just me.
That said despite being the oldest performer (is he the oldest? I think he is) he is clearly doing very well in this and my prediction is that if he continues the way he has been, he will find himself along with HVY in the final.

That said despite being the oldest performer Bill is only 55, I thought he was older I must admit. Caroline is 60,so the oldest. Apparently Bill is the new favourite to win!! We will see!!

I'm hoping to enjoy Clara's Thoroughly Modern Millie Charleston.
I think John Gavin is possibly more handsome than Aljaž, but Aljaž's bum dancing will make up for it.

I think that takes cynicism way too far to the extreme... plus they just weren't that good anyway, the lower end of the leaderboard was where they deserved to be. No conspiracy about it. Anyone can catch Covid, and Nicola is legally required to self-isolating, nothing more to it than that.

If they are both clear after 14 days could they not come back in ? They have let other people come back or am I making this up?

They have allowed people to miss 1 week due to injury or external issues but no longer than that.
14 days isolation means missing at least 2 weeks and probably 3 if they are going to get enough training time. So it makes sense to have this rule

Now Motsi is self quarantine because she had to go back to Germany
So she will be appearing from home this weekend (and probably next)

She didn't break anything, they weren't in isolation so she could have caught it in a supermarket or anywhere. But up to you if you want to believe the gutter press sensationalism and bending of the truth of course.

Have tabloid press said the same thing?? Now you mention it, not a Bake Off style bubble?

Have tabloid press said the same thing?? Now you mention it, not a Bake Off style bubble? Yeah, you were essentially accidentally quoting the Sun's predictable sensationalist article...! And nope, for Bake Off they all lived in a hotel and shot the whole thing in 3 weeks. Strictly is live and takes 3 months, and most of the celebs still have to do their day jobs at the same time. They were in bubbles just like anyone else who is single can have a support bubble, so either the pro or celeb in each pairing had to live alone. That means the couple can get close enough to dance but then together they stay socially distanced from everyone else. Simple really, and the only way they could have done it, but there has been predictable faux outrage from people and the press who don't understand the difference between a bubble and isolation.

BBC have confirmed that.
I can't see how he can return as a dancer after that....

I think it will be fine for Anton to judge. The other judges have come up the performer trail to their eminence. Gotta start somewhere. Shame Motsi had to go to Germany. Must have been very urgent thing. This was her job after all.. You can’t judge from a screen because you miss a lot, only seeing what the cameramen allow you to see. And you miss the ‘energy’ of the dancers. Well. Let’s see how it goes.

So the 'urgent' reason Motsi returned to Germany for was a broken window. Not tabloid speculation, but confirmed on her own Instagram account.

That's a bit disingenuous reporting on your part - it was because her dance studio was broken into, bit more serious than just a broken window and she had to follow police requirements. I'm not a fan of hers by any means, but if my business had been broken into I'd probably want to go and sort it out myself too!

Well of course I was being disingenuous, rather more than a bit, actually.
The police in Germany must work differently to our own if they can insist the victim of a relatively minor crime travels from a country in lockdown. Maybe it was Anton wot done it! 🙂
If I had a husband, or even staff, on the scene, and once the facts had been established, I would probably honour my much coveted UK contract, but that's just me.

Well clearly you must know a lot more about what is going on inside her head (and be able to judge her for it) than I do.
It's her business and her main livelihood where she has based her life, I don't think any of us have a right to be that judgemental about her choosing to go to Germany (obviously she wasn't forced, I meant the business having to assist police, her choosing to do do herself is up to her and none of anyone else's business).
