Barbican:Received the following yesterday along with details of the impact on the closure on membership. The Barbican will be in contact very soon with further information about the closure and issues like ticket refunds. As you can imagine there’s a lot to get through, so it’s taking a bit more time than usual. We'd really appreciate your patience. Would be nice if they could update people on this! The website still says It's now the week after next, working from the point that web page was put up. Appreciate the difficulties they are working under, but they are the same difficulties faced by every other venue - it should have been possible for them to at least put some information about the refund process up by now I think.

Sony are delaying major film releases until next spring and after. I wonder if there'll be any theatre/cinema at all this year?

Not theatre, but Queen have postponed their shows at the O2 by a full year to June 2021.
Of all the cancellations, though inevitable, this is the one that has depressed me the most on an already crap day.

Sony are delaying major film releases until next spring and after. I wonder if there'll be any theatre/cinema at all this year? With a lot of productions moving, such as Bond, already taking available slots later in the year it makes business sense to move them to next year when they'll have a clearer run at the box office than if they release them in an overcrowded market later this year. AND it gives them the opening weekends next year if we are still under social distancing towards the end of this year. Bond got shunted six months, who knows if we'll have open cinemas at that point so if he has to move again he's got limited options as Sony have already pitched the tent.

Evita have cancelled their run at the Barbican: Grrrr, upset about this one, was really looking fwd to it. Is it inevitable that Joseph will be next? Is there anything in the Palladium in the Autumn? Maybe they could just postpone. Or do Xmas. Is a Panto confirmed?

Just noticed the Barbican's latest update also confirms memberships will be extended ...
(previously they were saying only that if you renewed during the closure, your new membership would be extended to take account of the closure)

We'd usually have bought out Palladium Panto tickets by now No, those don't go on sale until the last week of May normally - last year I bought mine on the 29th, priority booking day, and it was the same timing the year before too. Ah right. I suppose it just feels like it ought to be the end of May by now!

Another Barbican update - they have mailed asking people to add their bank account details their Barbican account, and they will credit refunds to that. If you don't add your details, they will refund as credit vouchers.

End of June is date I've been given repeatedly as the very earliest theatres can open. The knock-on consequences for scheduling are anyone's guess.

That's good news. At least not cancelled. Do you think if we have tickets that were on offer we can transfer across to new date and have for same price?

I’m quite disappointed by this - it sounds like the first half of English National Opera’s season will be cancelled then, to make way for Hairspray? I was looking forward to Nixon in China!

Glad Hairspray will still be going ahead!
Sadly Brighton Pride cancelled this morning..... Waiting on Manchester Pride now.

On a related note, I've just noticed that ATG intend to extend any memberships by however long the shutdown lasts.

Without wishing to open any further discussion on this lest the mods be angered, should point out that ATG have posted on Facebook that if you want a cash refund, you need to go to this page: www.atgtickets.com/cv19form3Under the section "I would like...", select "Help with another query", and in the comment box you can request a cash refund instead of a voucher. It's clear from the FB comments as well as those here that it's taking them a while, and you may get a voucher in the interim which will be cancelled when they process the cash refund, but they'll get to you.

Yeah. This has made me lose a lot of respect for them. They could put in every email and post 'You can easily apply for a refund here' but they don't and it seems a lot of people are left confused and angered.
