This thread does my head in. I'm gonna stop reading it! Everyone hearing all these different things. It's a dick move, and tbh I'm sick of the April fools articles in general. Never funny or as clever as they think, and in this day and age nothing seems 'obviously a joke' anymore. What's worse is websites don't seem to have the intelligence to take down their joke articles when the time has passed, or remember the midday rule. Had so many Google articles recommended today which are April fools ones. So all its doing is spreading more misinformation than we already have.

Perhaps I'm wrong but rather than a stupid April fools from him, I more assumed Theatre Fan had just read it on here and was passing it off as his own secret gossip again.

My husband was at an event last Sunday (26th) and was told by a couple of people there that this was no longer dead in the water and it was looking likely to transfer in.

Judging by the poll on this board, a lot of us loved it! Almost like theatre is a subjective art-form, woah!

I just want A production of Into The Woods!
I thought this had its merits but I can think of better cast/creatives for a West End run

Not in a big way. They're either concerts or limited runs at smaller theatres.

We've not had a proper full scale revival inside a theatre in London since 1998 at the Donmar...there have been three full scale productions in London since it premiered - 1990 at the Phoenix, 1998 Donmar and 2010 in Regents Park.
People who say this is done all the time are mad 😂

There was also a production at the Menier in 2016.

There was also a production at the Menier in 2016. There was but it was still very small scale and stripped back. Considering its one of Sondheims more accessible shows, and had a fairly successful movie adaption that is often on TV I'm surprised it's not had a major revival.

At the Royal Opera House in 2007 too! I remember that one. It was in one of the smaller theatres attached. Good cast if I remember rightly but can only think of Anne Reid who was possibly the bakers wife.

At the Royal Opera House in 2007 too! For two weeks, hence why I didn't include it as a major revival. YEs, it's popped up, but there have only been three major productions of it that since it first premiered, 33 years ago.
