I knew Sharon would sneak in and steal that award, Rosalie and Adrienne were robbed however Sharon was brilliant in the show so you can't be too mad at it.

I loved Ms. Clarke's acceptance speech. Yes, deep deep joy - and wondrous exuberance!

I like Sharon D Clarke, but for me it's such a shame Adrienne didn't get the recognition she deserves. Undoubtedly the Tonys will show her more love at least!

I'm astonished that of the two 'leading' performances in Tina the musical (not that Ike is a lead IMO) - Kobna gets an award and Adrienne doesn't. It's unfortunate for Adrienne that her category was so much stronger than the leading actor in a musical category.

Come From Away comes from away to take the crown from Tina. I've only seen the US production of CFA - and I did love Tina - both are terrific. But Come From Away just moves me so much.

I'm really pleased that CFA won some major awards.
The thing i would say is that that's two years in a row where a new British show has been nominated in several awards and come away empty handed, and two that were serious contenders and wouldn't have been out of place winning an award or two and the panel failed to reward them at all.

So Company, Come From Away and The Inheritance walk away with the most awards, with four each.

I don’t think Six is a perfect show, but I really felt that it deserved Outstanding Achievement in Music (as much as I dislike that vague category)

What the hell has Richard E Grant got to do with dance?
Matthew Bourne really is special. I remember seeing Swan Lake when it first came out, and it blew me away. I'd never seen anything like it.

Sonia Friedman had a good night then. There probably could be an awards show for just Sonia Friedman productions....

I think we all kinda knew that ultimately Come From Away and Company would come out on top, and in my opinion, rightly so. I'm not really mad about any of the losses or wins. I would of loved to see Adrienne or Rosalie win but all four of those women are incredible.
It's a real shame Six didn't pick up anything at all.

I'm so thrilled truly for Jonathan and Patti. Even though, as soon as Company opened, most said they were locks anyway, but it's great!

Count me as another one who's gutted about Six. I adore Come From Away, and will be hoping to pick up a rush ticket to be there tomorrow night for the first show after the wins, but honestly I don't think it deserved achievement in music. The score is good, but not what makes it. Really think Six should have had that one. That, and Marianne not getting director, were the disappointments of the night for me. It's a British awards show, for goodness' sake, and it's really feeling like all you need to do is be the latest big US transfer and you're going to run away with it, and if you're a British show you might as well not bother. That's a depressing state of affairs.

That's a depressing state of affairs. It does feel a little like they feel like they are doing enough if they just nominate the biggest British musical of the time in a few things. I mean actually giving them awards for things they deserve as well would be better.

It's great to have a year where there isn't a Harry Potter or a Hamilton to just take everything. It was all fairly equally divided, and most of the big shows got one award.
