Catherine Tate messed up so much last year it’s amazing they managed to even broadcast it! At least Jason got the memo this year that they were live on the radio. Catherine seemed to have no clue

Cant have been any worse than Miranda trying to do 'No Business Like Show Business' at the Royal Variety last year, can it?

Oh Gosh. I want to listen now, what happened? Jason, Janie Dee and Ruthie Henshall did an opening number and Jason had to stop it part way through because he went out of time with the orchestra and they started the whole thing again. They mentioned on the red carpet Jason was still inside rehearsing so sounds all a bit last minute! 😅

Above their means? It was a fairly simple musical number. I'm not hating on the hosting by the way. I think Jason Manford does a great job and has been very funny so far tonight. Yes above their means, given they messed it up. Just because they messed up doesn't mean it's above their means. Above their means makes it out like they are incapable of it. We've all seen shows where someone may have flubbed a line or made a mistake. Doesn't mean it's above their means.

We've all seen shows where someone may have flubbed a line or made a mistake. Doesn't mean it's above their means. They are all established performers in their own right. We are incapable of it. What they tried to so was add a bit on Tony esque opening number but that is just not our thing. Most of the time it's embarrassing when we try to and copy some american razzle dazzle.

I just swore dreadfully because Songs For Nobodies didn't win. I was so pleased it had been nominated for SOMETHING!☹

I really think they should divide these creative awards up between Musical and Play.

Rosalie sounded good to me. I'm looking forward to seeing that. She sounded like she was really going for it.

It's good this year that there isn't one single show dominating.

It's good this year that there isn't one single show dominating. The Inheritance has already won 4.

And once again David Suchet is overlooked. Seventh time? They'll have to give him an honorary one soon.
Also I really hope Come From Away wins something, anything. If it doesn't get new musical (which I think will go to Six) I don't think it will last out til Sept.

How representative of Come from Away was the bit they played? I have heard nothing but raves about it, but I hated that performance earlier.

I didn't hear the extract, but everything is so integrated in CFA, it's difficult to find a stand-alone segment.

Come From Away, while an interesting story with heart, is very amateur and highly overrated in my opinion. Though I'd say the same thing about The Inheritance. Maybe I sound cynical/bitter, but it's like everyone is throwing awards at it so they can pat themselves on the back and feel like they were part of history - as if are witnessing Angels in America in 2019.

I'm very pleased for once - 99% I lose out when it comes to interesting stuff on TV because I'm stuck outside the UK's borders, but tonight I can actually watch the Oliviers' livestream on Facebook Quite content with the results so far...

I think there is very little amateur about come from away. Those actors never come off stage, they all have about 5 different characters to play at the drop of a hat, literally, and very intricate direction, choreography and vocal arrangements. You have to be an actor at the top of your game to pull that show off and you have to be be creatives at the top of your game to knit that entire show together in the first place. I couldn't disagree more with that claim.

Oh god, Magic is now playing a song from the Come From Away soundtrack, and I really really hate it. I can't even put my finger on why, but at least that settles it that it's definitely one for me to avoid.

I am more referring to the writing than the direction or acting. I am actually just cringing myself re-playing "Welcome To the Rock" in my head. It's as if SNL is doing a parody of musicals.

I think it's the lyrics I don't like. Sorry people who love it! I'll shut up now.
