Cam Mack’s speech at the start, Michael Ball’s at the end with the cast in tears The applause at the start of the prologue The ovation at the end of One Day More The tears and sniffles around the theatre during the Epilogue I will never forget that. I can't wait to feel all those same emotions you and the audience felt tonight when I eventually go in January!

Is there a specific time of day that return tickets are put back on sale online or is it random?

Do we know who the first and second covers are? Assuming the first will be those who were in the show at the start of the year

I would be happy to see anyone on that list. (Apart from the JVJ...I want to see JOJ).

Another thing to add - I really didn’t mind Matt Lucas’ panto ad libs /gags about the plague this time round. Added some much needed comic relief. He also imitates Boris Johnson for the pre show announcement which had audience in hysterics.

I can't wait to see this next Sunday - two other shows in between, but this will be my highlight. Thank heavens for theatres reopening.

I was there on Saturday night and thought the atmosphere in the theatre was amazing. Cameron gave his speech at the beginning, and I saw a few famous faces in the audience. I have to say, wearing a mask throughout the whole show didn't bother me at all, but it must have been hard for the cast, not being able to see facial expressions and reactions to their performances (although the audience clearly showed their appreciation with their cheers and ovations).
The performances were outstanding, and the principals seemed fresher than from when I saw it last year (albeit at the very end of the run). Michael Ball's voice was definitely back on top form compared to last year's recorded live performance, where it sounded tired. His Javert's Suicide is a little OTT for me, as is Matt Lucas's Thenardier, but it all seemed perfect for this time round. These performers were doing what they have been desperate to do for the last 9 months, and enjoying/making the most of every moment of it. It was wonderful. Also a lot of new faces in the ensemble this time, which was nice.
If anyone is a merch fan, they have Cosette logo face masks on sale for £3, which are really nice quality. Also a souvenir brochure, as you'd expect, and poster, DVD, CD, t-shirt, tote bag and mug.
If I had to say one negative thing about this concert is that they are still using that tacky "Miz Rocks" slogan. I don't know why, and maybe it's just me, but I think that cheapens it.

Evening started very badly (see How was your day thread) but eventually turned out to be a great evening. in a way I think I prefer the staged concert to the actual show as its about 30 minutes shorter and you get some top notch performers. I had seen this concert last year but was great to see again and everyone was on fine form. Ball, Boe, and Lucas didn't disappoint the audience who lapped it up. I have a bit of a thing for Rob Houchin who has such a beautiful voice, but I think I new have a new favourite in Bradley Jaden and his top knot. Such a powerful voice. Standing ovation at the end and the cast seemed genuinely taken by the reaction, in fact, they practically had to drag Alfie Boe off the stage at the end.

Having read your other post I cannot believe how appallingly you and your niece were treated at the theatre yesterday. To send anyone to a left luggage facility at a railway station half a mile away from the theatre because of a smallish case beggars belief and for it to be the companion of someone with an access ticket makes it even more disgraceful in my eyes. The exit arrangements are also cause for concern and grounds for a complaint. I do wonder if it was a security officer employed through an Agency and whether the duty manager would have been more accommodating ? I would certainly bring the matter to the attention of DMT Customer services - you might even get a free revisit next year.

I was at Les Mis today with my daughters, and must call out Alfie Boe. I prefer JOJ as Valjean, but was happy just to get tickets. Boe was on another level today - the emotion conveyed (surprised me), the power of his voice, and the tears trickling down his cheeks on the line "take my hand I'll lead you to salvation" really moved me. To top it off, his kindness at the end in waving twice to my youngest - making it clear it was for her by pointing with a beaming smile - was one of those magic moments that a 9 year old will take away forever.
Proud too that my daughters could sit through 3 hours of a fairly complex story attentively and respectfully, whilst two adults at the end of the front row, dressed as if they were going to the races, sat talking most of the way through, constantly fiddling in bags and pouring their champagne, with scant interest in the show or the experience of people around them.
I hope this production avoids a tier 3 shutdown so that others can get to enjoy the magic we experienced today.

With the recent announcement of London going into Tier 3, this will unfortunately mean that performances from Wednesday onwards will be cancelled/postponed. Really gutted for everyone who booked tickets and will not be able to see it, until London goes down to Tier 2 or 1.
But on a potentially positive note, the government announced that they would be reviewing tiers weekly from now on, so hopefully (and that is a big 'HOPEFULLY') the show will go back up and running soon. That is IF we go back into Tier 2, or 1 in a week or two.

I think shows will cancel altogether as they can't keep opening for a week then closing then opening again. They are loosing enough money as it is and this would just make it worse.

Agreed, I can't see any way that Les Mis will open again even if we go back into Tier 2 in early January (which frankly is as likely as pigs flying in my opinion!).

During the third lockdown? Yeah right.
Try March or April.

Just got an email that Alfie Boe rather than John Owen-Jones is performing tonight, can’t be giving the alternate the (potential) final show can we!

I think it's absolutely shameful they've done this, what is the production/producers/Cameron going to gain from switching in the principal last-minute? Show is already sold out, some people bought this date especially for JOJ, it feels to me that the higher-ups are trying to prove a point (I don't know what that is) by treating their non-household names like absolute garbage- I'm actually furious for John

I have booked before specially for the alternate. Why not bring Boe on for an encore if they want to do something special?

Anyone got any emails yet about refunds for closed dates? Yes - effectively a holding statement saying we will be told more in a few days and that more January seats will be made available.

January? They are optimistic...many areas rates have been falling considerably for the last 3 weeks and it still doesn't look like they are going to get out of Tier 3 any time soon
