http://instagr.am/p/Btip_uBj8zi !! JOJ mentioned but who would he play? The bishop? Or alternate Valjeans? Edit: Read the blurb on the website, omg I'm there! "Katy Secombe also joins to play Madame Thénardier and for three performances a week, the role of Jean Valjean will be played by John Owen-Jones. Further casting will be announced shortly."

Maybe they will have two actors playing each main character and each will do 4 shows a week? Who knows.
Edit: oh, just read your edited post lol.

See they're even announcing it like it's a different production. 😂😂
Watch Phantom overtake as the longest-running show and Les Mis still claim it.

I hope they make it clear who is performing when or there may be riots at the box office!

Is there no advance booking for DMT+ members? This is exactly the sort of thing that coughing up your membership fee should get you. Wonder how much of a scrum booking will be at 12pm tomorrow (though I love a bit of panic buying and internet queuing; errr, ish).
Southampton went on general sale for the tour yesterday. Joined the queue when it opened at 10am - eventually got my ticket at 1pm!

I've been dying to see JOJ's Valjean ever since I first came across him a few years ago. I don't care how rubbish this temporary version is, I'll be there several times just for him.

For me it'll always be the 10th Anniversary concert. Can't beat Philip Quast and Ruthie. Although I'm not that keen on Colm Wilkinson (I know!), so I listen to 25th anniversary tour for some JOJ. There are some lyric changes from the 10th to now, although so slight I wonder why they decided to change them. What sort of lyric changes were made? One is "If I could heal your wounds..." changed to "If I could close your wounds...". See they're even announcing it like it's a different production. 😂😂 Watch Phantom overtake as the longest-running show and Les Mis still claim it. I had hoped they could maintain the title but don't see how they can now. I'm sure they'll still try though!

It's been a while since I perused the DM home page for Les Mis tickets, don't know how long this has been on their page - and highlighted in red - Please note: All persons under the age of 16 must be accompanied by and sat next to the accompanying adult. They may not sit on their own within the auditorium. If children do have separate seats you could be refused entry. All persons entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a ticket.

Guys, you are forgetting something. From official Les Mis website:
We are getting two productions at the same time: the original at the Shaftesbury, and the staged concert at the Gielgud.
Then the new version opening at the Queen's.
Unless plans have changed of course. In that case they should update the news section, to avoid confusion.
Edit; I'm an idiot. Shaftesbury Ave, not the Theatre. Ignore me.

The prospect of seeing Matt Lucas massacre Thenardier again is more than enough to put me off. He should be given a 100 mile exclusion order around anything relating to Musical Theatre. His woeful turn in Me and My Girl reiterates that. As for the rest ...(all of em crooks) - Ball, Boe, Fletcher.....call me cynical but isn’t this Cameron’s insurance policy to engage every demographic to get the box office tills ringing. Not for me. I’ll wait for the new version to set up home.

I've been dying to see JOJ's Valjean ever since I first came across him a few years ago. I don't care how rubbish this temporary version is, I'll be there several times just for him. When I saw the 25 tour at the Lowry, after he sang What Have I Done there was a split second of silence before the applause and a woman in the audience blurted out very loudly “OH MY GOD”. He was stunning in it. In fact I found that production much more compelling and emotional than the original. At the end when the whole place was on its feet, many people teary eyed, the man in the next seat (a complete stranger) turned to me and said, smiling, “Good enough?”. He was kidding obviously because it was more than good enough and everyone knew it. Seeing it in manc in a couple of weeks. If Killian manages to get anywhere near that I’ll be very happy.

Can anyone describe what has changed or been cut over the years? I'm always interested to hear about changes made to shows and the decision process behind them. So there have been a few trims since the Compete Symphonic recording but they are minimal. The main issues are more subtle: - reduced orchestra over the years (although sound wise things improved when the new orchestrations were brought in as it was orchestrated for the size of orchestra it now had) - MDs seem (though for me is just a perception) to be conducting the show faster and faster so everyone gets out quicker - younger and younger casts - talented no doubt but lacking the acting subtlety and nuance that experience brings The piece itself hasn't been cut since the 90s though I don't think. I do echo others views that something was lost when it moved from The Palace. Something difficult to put into words. As certain shows fit certain theatres (Cats in New London, Starlight in Apollo Victoria) The Palace felt totally right for Les Mis and it was a holistic fabulous experience there. Coincidentally I’ve been at the V&A archives this morning watching some of the recording of the Palace production. The set definitely looked expansive and epic and those structures that turned into the barricades seemed to tower over everybody. And my did the orchestrations boomed out, and it sounded more layered with the extra instruments If I had one defence of the smaller queens production it does feel intimate when sitting near the front I’m going to hold off and hope to get a cheap seat for a night with JOJ

so there are tickets bookable from tomorrow onwards without knowing all of the principal roles? Why not? This happens constantly. Joseph for example hasn't announced a single cast member. At least we know some of them for this!

for me Enjolras is one of the most important roles, so i will and cannot book before knowing not liking booking for maybe getting an Enjolras that will be as terrible as Nick Jonas was as Marius
