Skipping meals all together is a really good way to convince your body that there's a famine on and it needs to cling on to every ounce of fat for dear life. Surely it would make more sense to eat smaller portions of all the usual stuff... That's what I'd do if I was eating at home, but when eating out you get the portions you're given so I cut down elsewhere. And after being presented with a portion of mash Saturday lunchtime that seemed to have been made from all the potatoes everywhere there was no chance of my body thinking there was a famine.

Years ago I used to love the brioche that were sold by Sainsburys. Then they stopped selling them & I haven't been able to find bearable brioche for, literally, about 2 decades. Then just before Christmas I was in Waitrose & I spotted some brioche that were labelled as burger buns, which looked totally different from the ordinary brioche that tastes horrible to me, so I thought I'd give them a try. Finally I have found brioche that I like again. This makes me ridiculously happy! So I'm now having a brioche for breakfast each day. I can't imagine why they're sold as burger buns though. Why would you eat something slightly sweet with meat?

Why would you eat something slightly sweet with meat? Brioche burger buns are quite common, lots of the 'gourmet' burger places use them. They work really well with burgers. Meat + sweet works, eg relish, chutney, etc. How do you have your breakfast brioche? It makes great French toast.

How do you have your breakfast brioche? It makes great French toast. I don't do anything to it, just eat it. I'm not generally a toast fan.

yes, brioche with savoury flavours is a total joy. Toasted, served with a rich smooth patΓ©. Or, a breakfast of brioche French toast with crispy bacon and maple syrup. Oh yeah.

As I need to get my fibre intake up (owing to the fact that it turns out a large bag of fruit-flavoured Haribo doesn't count as healthy eating) I'm now adding a bowl of All Bran to my usual breakfast bowl of muesli, suitably spaced out so one of them is more of a mid-morning snack.
My fibre intake is now around 40g a day. I'll be so regular I'll be able to find work as a metronome.

Wholemeal toast with banana.
A second breakfast of two cups of coffee and a large bar of Dairy Milk when I got into the office rather ruined the attempt to be healthy...

Not working today so made a cheese omelette with blue eggs! Yes they are real and sell them in M&S and some wholemeal toast. My usual breakfast on working days is cereal as I dont have time to do anything else plus its 5.30am so needs to be least amount of effort.

Overnight oats. Made with oats, coconut flakes, chia seeds, oatmilk and water but made in a hurry so I messed up the ratios/consistency.

I am a porridge fan.For those on the move,Greggs do two kinds of porridge...one is in a plain white pot and is served hot and is often kept warming in a heated cabinet.The second one is in different flavours and is in ready-mix and more commercialised looking pot.The first is thick in consistency and has a lovely creamy taste whilst the second is watery and tasteless imo. Costa serve their porridge in a bowl and you can add your own honey.More expensive than Greggs obvs, but very tasty.

I admit I didn't realise they had earlobes but, apparantly, the colour of a chicken's earlobes often dictates the colour of her eggs. White earlobes = white eggs. Red earlobes = brown eggs. Blue earlobes = the temperature in the hen house is too low! πππ

... Krispy Kreme donuts. Because I've worked for my current employers for 10 years this week, and, knowing at least one boss was in today I bought 2 boxes of Krispy Kreme's so everyone through the door saying "Oh, why are there donuts" gets to hear I've been here 10 years (donuts are placed in hearing distance of bosses office). Also worked out another colleague has been here 8 years this week, another 5 years next week and yet another 21 years in 2 weeks time!
Performance appraisals due in the next couple of weeks ......
