Thanks for that. Didnt the bodyguard cast recording sell well?
They did pick her over everyone, that has played that part. I guess the tour is nearly over now. You do have to remember though, the UK Cast Recording wasn't just a recording of the touring cast, it is the first ever Cast Recording of the show. So it would of sold well regardless anyway, because it was the first ever Cast Recording for the show. True. I guess it was never going to happening as they are selling the original cast recording at the show. The cast keeps changing away, nobody seems to be sticking to do the whole tour. Was surprised Sarah Goggin left.

Would love a new English recording of the song. Am disappointed we don't have a record of Cynthia as Deloris really. However, I'd buy any version of the soundtrack but I doubt I'd listen to this one with all the keys lowered.

Does anyone know why Alexandra Burke is not doing the last dates in Dublin. I thought she would have done the last dates of this tour?

^The tour already played Dublin for a week. They must have tagged on these dates late in the day.

Went to see sister act in Oxford last night.
It was pretty much empty, the balcony wasn't even open.
Not sure how it would sell in the west end, something is missing If you ask me.
The songs are sung so low, can't work it out.

A whole extra week was added in Dublin.

It is odd as the show has generally sold incredibly well, with the return visits to Bristol, Dublin and Manchester.

The atmosphere was dead.
Just questioning, if this will sell out a west end theatre 6 days a week, as this theatre is close to London.
Going back to these places again, are not selling very well at the moment.
Just my opinion.

At this stage, we've had no confirmation of whether it will transfer or not, and if it does, who the cast will be.
It all seems up in the air as to whether Alexandra would stay on- particularly if it's true that she's in talks for another role.
I presume if it does go to the West End, there would be a big promotional push. Craig had mentioned getting the cast on Strictly.
What did you make of Alice Stokoe as Sr Mary Robert?

Alice Stokoe is one talented lady. She played the part very well. Worth going to see her, if you can.

If it does come to the West End without you-know-who, I hope they put the songs back to their original keys.

Interesting bit of gossip on a Tuesday afternoon EDIT: I've read the last 10 or so pages of this thread, I should have worked it out straight away, my bad. I have a friend who has seen both Sarah Goggin and Alice Stokoe and says that their performances are pretty much identical. I suppose with Sister Mary Robert it's more a matter of giving a consistent performance - especially in Life I Never Led - than trying to do anything groundbreaking or revolutionary.

Saw the show in Oxford last night too! Personally I thought it was busy, especially for the New Theatre! I couldn't see how full the stalls were but the circle was 3/4 full and everyone seemed to be lapping it up. Compared with the audience sizes at 'The Sound of Music' tour (with Lucy O'Byrne) and 'Wonderland', the place was overflowing!
I much, much prefer the original tour. I never saw the West End production, but Cynthia Erivo on tour was amazing. Alexandra Burke didn't come close in my eyes. She wasn't bad by any means, just not what I was expecting from a Deloris.
I went along with my theatre group (and we're doing 'Sister Act' later this year) and we all agreed that Alice Stokoe as Mary Robert was spectacular, along with the actors playing Curtis and Eddie. We also liked the Nun's chorus - particularly Mary Patrick. I wasn't keen on Mother Superior but I can't really put my finger on why...
And as for the instruments...well, let's just say I felt that it was unecessary and really restricted the dancing abilities of the Nuns in particular. And what was with all the slow-mo?
But, as I said, I enjoyed it and it's worth seeing, but don't expect it to beat the original West End/ touring production!

I doubt they would wanna transfer it without Alexandra Burke (as she's the selling point) unless they get someone just as famous. Where could it even go tho? NC maybe if Mary Poppins doesn't go there? If these rumours on AB are true and she is doing a long running WE show then I doubt she'd do this

If this goes to the west end. It needs big names to sell.
I don't see Alex staying personally.

I'd rather they went with a great actress/singer for Deloris (not saying that she-who-must-not-be-named isn't) and then stunt cast Mother Superior, Monsignor, Curtis and even maybe Eddie and Marys Patrick and Lazarus. I could imagine Jay McGuinness as Eddie. (I don't know which roles in his production need to be able to play which instruments.)

Every role other than Deloris plays an instrument at one point or another in the show.

Every role other than Deloris plays an instrument at one point or another in the show. In this production, not show. If it returned to the West End, I do hope they'll re-introduce a proper orchestra and get rid of the stupid actor-musician thing.

So if/when this comes into town, it will be actor-muso.

Do you think they need a famous Deloris if it goes into London?
Any suggestions?
