Well, nobody else is bagysing the page of Team Fifth Cover Midwife! Having a team account for a role rather than a certain actor is actually pretty nifty. Your precious... I am already planning the design of her leaving scrapbook! Not joking, I once saw a couple of superfans in the dayseat queue browsing a scrapbook they were giving some ensemble member that night. Not sure if said ensemble member was leaving that night, had a birthday or simply got that book for no particular reason. Didn't want to ask.

I mean, even I can easily come up with ten ladies who are more than qualified. After thinking about it for a bit: Rachel John, Rachael Wooding, Sabrina Aloueche, Lauren Varnham, Cynthia Erivo, Sam Barks, Danielle Hope, Lauren Samuels, Rebecca Trehearn (?), Natalie Dew (maybe as s/b?), Faye Brookes (?), Amanda Coutts The producer's and/or casting director's list must be even longer... On what grounds for these names? Not saying I disagree, just genuinely interested in what has made you come up with these names. I love most of these ladies and they are all extremely talented but I personally think all of these (except Lauren Samuels) are not right for Elphaba. Elphaba needs to be naive yet mature, spunky yet timid.. Rebecca Trehearn is one of my all time favourite west end actresses but is, IMO, not right for Elphaba.

On your own criteria Rachel John, Rachael Wooding, Sabrina Aloueche and Cynthia Erivo at least all fit the bill! They've all played naive yet mature, spunky yet timid roles in the West End or on Broadway before. Why do you think they're not suitable?

Roles they played before - Rachel John, Rachael Wooding, Sabrina Aloueche, Lauren Varnham, Amanda Coutts and Lauren Samuels have all played and/or understudied Scaramouche and/or Meat in WWRY and remember, both Kerry Ellis and Rachel Tucker were former Meats -, Age. re Rebecca Trehearn: I'm not 100% sure myself either, which is why I've put a '?' behind her name. I don't think she's ever publicly sung a song from Wicked so I'm sure if her voice suits Elphaba, but, as you, she's one of my all-time favourite West End performers and I'd love to see her give it a go. Purely out of interest: Who would you cast?

I don't know if Natalie Dew has a strong enough voice to play this role. I mean, she was great in Bend It Like Beckham but she wasn't exactly belting it out during that show. I'd be interested to hear her vocals on more of a powerhouse role to see if she could pull off Elphaba. I also think, at this stage of her career, like most people are saying about Carrie, I don't think Natalie's voice would make it through 8 performances of Wicked a week.

That's why I've added a maybe as s/b to her name Natalie Dew ( maybe as s/b?) I loved her in BILB and I'd love to see her eventually do Wicked, but she hasn't exactly done much (musical) theatre.

Personally I'd love to see Lauren Samuels give it a go, and think both Jenna Lee James and Jodie Jacobs could sing the nuts off the score, although they're probably just outside the casting bracket now (in the nicest possible way)....

But we all know they'll bring Emma Hatton back come cast change. Oh God, I hope not. If they really have to bring back a former Elphaba I'd love to see Jemma Rix do it in the West End. Other than that I'd like to see someone new.

I am happily gonna put forward the suggestion, I want to see Carrie Hope Fletcher play the role. And not for fangirl purposes or anything like that, I just want to see her do it! Maybe in 5 years or so

And I always thought it was Rachelle Ann Go you wanted to see as Elphaba Rachelle Ann Go would be awesome too That being said, I would love to see Rachelle Ann Go as Elphaba. 3 months Rachel Tucker and then Rachelle Ann Go would be awesome I'd love to see Rachelle Ann Go as Elphaba. How much longer is she going to stay at Les Mis? I really want Rachelle Ann Go to play Elphaba someday Someone mentioned Rachelle Ann Go. I think she would be an amazing Elphie! Yes, I did! She'd be incredible. I think she'll just have to work on her accent a bit, but other than that she'd be perfect Rachelle Ann Go, Victoria Hamilton-Barritt and Siobhan Dillon would be my top contenders for Elphaba. Although I'd love to see Jemma Rix as Elphaba some day, but unless it's her I wouldn't want to have any former Elphabas to return for a while. And yes, I must have mentioned Rachel John a couple of times myself

But here we were talking about bringing former Elphabas back, in which case I' love to see Jemma Rix. But that's probably the only former Elphaba I'd like to see return (apart from maybe Kerry Ellis for a very short stint). If not Jemma, then I think they shouldn't bring any former Elphaba back and pick someone new instead, like for example Rachelle Ann Go. I should've mentioned that last part, because now I confused you

Ahaha, I think it'd be interesting to see Rachelle Ann Go too, although I am with Michael when it comes to Rachel John. It HAS to happen!

Haha dude, how long did that even take you? Rather quick, I just had to put 'Rachelle' in the search box and it showed me all posts about her in this thread. I did remember that you've mentioned her once or maybe twice, but I was really surprised that it was that often... but as I've said, I'm pretty sure I must have mentioned Ms John a couple of times myself too, so who am I to blame you But here we were talking about bringing former Elphabas back, in which case I' love to see Jemma Rix. If not Jemma, then I think they shouldn't bring any former Elphaba back and pick someone new instead, like for example Rachelle Ann Go. I should've mentioned that last part, because now I confused you I'd only object to bringing former West End and UK tour Elphabas back. I really wouldn't mind if they brought Lindsay Mendez over. I haven't seen her, so she's new to me. And they should also consider bringing Alli Mauzey over. I'd love to see her Glinda. Ahaha, I think it'd be interesting to see Rachelle Ann Go too, although I am with Michael when it comes to Rachel John. It HAS to happen! i do wonder why she hasn't been cast yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the July cast change. If she were cast, I'd finally be able to unlock the see all eight performances of one show in a week achievement.

I have yet to do an 8 show week myself, but I did do 7 shows in 4 days in Salford, so I kinda count it as it was 3 two show days!

Yes! Lauren! Also think Lara Pulver may be marvelous. Plus Emma Williams as Glinda!

Can't they finally annouce her dates? Maybe Rachel just hasn't decided on her holiday dates yet. She's doing a short run, so she won't get that many days off

Five months is almost half a contract, so she must at least have some leave. Also, IIRC, there are two nine show weeks in the festive period, so Alice will be on for at least one show each week. If I knew which, I could finally decide which shows to see over New Year's and book my tickets accordingly.

Alice Fearn is on for both shows today This excites me but also upsets me as I have booked a ticket for next Wednesday matinee on the off chance Alice would be on... looks like I'm one week late! Hopefully she'll be on again next week?
