I don't know how accurate their information is, but according to the OZ wiki cast list, Rachel Tucker will play her last show as Elphaba on Broadway on Sunday, 19th June. Just as a warning in case some of you might want to fly over to see her.

Sounds about right, she said when she started she was only there until June

So, do we think she might extend her contract on Broadway? Or might she even be coming home and take over from Emma Hatton for a short run over the show's 10th anniversary?

Might be interesting for those of you flying over to New York to see Rachel Tucker again: Wicked Broadway have announced their new cast: www.broadwayworld.com/article/Carrie-St-Louis-Judy-Kaye-Peter-Scolari-More-Will-Join-Broadways-WICKED-Next-Month-20160121On 2nd February, Carrie St. Louis will be taking over as Glinda (having previously played that role in the National Tour), and there'll also be a new Wizard, Morrible, Boq, Nessa and Dillamond. And apparently, Alyssa Fox will become the new s/b Elphaba. Now that's what I call a cast change Luckily, I'm seeing the show next Tuesday, I'd be quite disappointed if I had missed out on seeing Kara Lindsay's Glinda.

I saw Rachel a few weeks ago, I almost forgot what it felt like to be so in awe with elphaba, it seems to be hit & miss with elphabas in London. At least if they're going to be consistent with the lead elphabas we should have a really good one again after Emma!

I've heard on the staged grapevine that Rachel will be taking the role of Ellen in Miss Saigon on Broadway when it goes over...! In regards to wicked 10 i reckon every elphie/ Glinda/ fiyero etc that could make it should come back for a week of past casts!

Debut post. Rachel is sounding great on Broadway (have they updated the orchestrations slightly too?)

Putain de merde I've seen Ms Dwyer twice in 2014 (when she was fulltime Elphaba) and am not too thrilled to see her again. At least Kara Lindsay is on. And I've got two more shots at seeing Rachel in March. Better luck then...

I would actually cry if I saw Elphaba on the "At the performance the role of..." board when I go in March...as much as I enjoy the audios of Alyssa Fox, who will be Stand-by Elphaba at that point, I must see Rachel again. Hope you get to see her in March as well.

She wasn't bad, but neither particularly good. When are you seeing the show in March? I'm booked for the 12th Eve and 16th Mat - specifically booked two shows in two different weeks if she was on vacation.

I'm booked for the 16th Eve...will just be missing you lol I'm debating booking for another day as well for the same reason, but I'm limited (see what I did there) on what days I can do as my friend has banned me from seeing anything on the 17th for St Patrick's Day, due to being from Belfast we have to celebrate in style apparently, whatever that means, and I already have Aladdin booked and there's a couple of other shows I want to try and see. I'm just resting on the mindset that if I don't see her, it just wasn't meant to be.

In all objectiviy, Christine Dwyer was a good Elphaha - bar her very audible breathing. Nicely portayed and pretty well sung with some riffs (including "things I've never felt" in Wizard and I). But subjectively, I was hugely disappointed. It wasn't Christine Dwyer's fault - I'm well aware that you pay to see the show and not a certain performer. However, I wasn't there to see Wicked but to see Rachel Tucker (in Wicked). Better luck next time...
That said: I'm still very happy that I went, and it's all because of Kara Lindsay. She is by far the best and funniest Glinda I've ever seen and quickly made it on top of my list. She was insane, angry, hilarious, over the top, extremely funny - I've never laughed that much during Popular - and added many details and oddities that I haven't seen any other Glinda do before. Compared to her, all our UK Glindas seemed plain and boring. What do we have to do to finally get such a Glinda in London? Such a shame that she's leaving this Sunday, but I'm nonetheless looking forward to seeing Carrie St. Louis in March.
Not much to say about the other cast members, apart from Arielle Jacobs (Aladdin's sister) who visibly enjoyed playing Nessa - and who looked young enough. What a difference to KRJ.
Lastly: The orchestrations seemed in fact to be somewhat different to what I'm used in London.

I'm disappointed for you - I know how I'd feel looking at that board. I'm going in April, for 10 days - will be my first time leaving England in over 15 years and it's to see Rachel, I've aired on the side of safety and booked for the day after I arrive, so I have more chances (to exchange my ticket) Has anyone tried doing the lottery?

Here's the latest video of Emma screeching and screaming the score - that Fiyero riff hurt my voice and my ears. Surely that's damaging her voice long term?

Here's the latest video of Emma screeching and screaming the score - that Fiyero riff hurt my voice and my ears. Surely that's damaging her voice long term? This sounded atrocious! It sounded like her vocal chords were ripping in half, this is not safe on her voice especially when on a good show she can barely hit the normal "Fiyero". Emma has been a disaster as lead, her acting is some of the most lifeless and bland we've had in the show, and her vocals are just far too strained, especially when she had an entire week off the week before this, probably due to vocal damage attempting to screech the score!

I'm all for actresses throwing in the occasional riff here and there in some of the songs but there comes a point when it just goes over the top and is just too much. I must agree and think this surely must be damaging her voice; you can hear throughout that she is clearly straining. It would explain her absences throughout her run in the show.

I don't think Emmas that bad. She is definitley better live than she is on audios! Also, in my opinion, much improved since her standby days and the early days of her lead.
