I don't have a typed up list, but I can do most of the characters if I really sit down and try.
I draw the line at Doctor Dillamond and The Wizard though, because they have gone through so many understudies in my experience, they could give Emma Hatton a run for her money. 😂😂

Felt like I'd jump on the band wagon with this one.
Elphaba
1. Rachel Tucker (x6) - Elphaba personified for me. 2. Willemijn Verkaik (x1) - Beautifully acted and vocally pure. 3. Kerry Ellis (x3) - my first. always will be very special 4. Louise Dearman (x1) - the best acting Elphaba I saw 5. Jennifer DiNoia (x1) - Wonderful transition from Act 1 to 2 6. Nikki Davis Jones (x1) - very gritty and strong from memory 7. Emma Hatton (x2) - ...
Glinda
1. Dianne Pilkington (x1) - the best. so hilarious. 2. Carrie St Louis (x1) - funniest popular EVER. 3. Suzie Mathers (x4) - gorgeous voice and arch of character 4. Gina Beck (x3) - character change was so strong 5. Savannah Stevenson (x5) - i never went 'wow' at any point... 6. Sophie Linder-Lee (x1) - didn't laugh once.
Been interesting reading other peoples lists.

Who doesn't love a bandwagon, even if I'm slightly late to it. No idea how many time I've seen each one but here you go.. in no particular order: Elphaba: 1) Idina Menzel 2) Kerry Ellis 3) Shona White 4) Cassidy Janson 5) Alexia Khadime 6) Nikki Davis Jones 7) Rachel Tucker 8) Ashleigh Gray 9) Julia Murney 10) Shoshana Bean
Worst was Julia Murney. Best, can't decide between Rachel, Alexia or Shoshana. Three very different Elphabi that made a huge impression.
Glinda: 01) Helen Dallimore 02) Annalene Beechey 03) Sarah Earnshaw 04) Diane Pilkington 05) Louise Dearman 06) Gina Beck 07) Savannah Stevenson 08) Suzie Mathers 09) Megan Hilty 10) Caroline Keiff 11) Kendra Kassebaum
Megan Hilty was the best. Worst was Helen Dallimore, who's performance I tried to forget straight after.

Shona White was a brilliant Elphaba. I saw her in 2007, around April/May-ish.
It's such a shame she had such a short stint and barely went on. And that she was standby when Kerry Mania was just getting into full swing.

I'm sorry but I have to laugh at the fact that the majority of people here placed Emma at the bottom of their lists

I honestly don't know how anyone can say that she was their favourite Elphaba ever when they have seen... literally anyone else in the role, but to each their own! I am sure many people think I am utterly bizarre for enjoying Jodie or Carly etc...

My friend loved Emma, but then again this was the only time he ever saw Wicked, so I think he just liked the songs and the show itself

I can never understand why some people get so irate when others don't like a show or actor that they love. Personally I'm happy to read negative views about shows or actors I love. I view it as that much less competition for tickets!

Despite being one of my favourite musicals, I've only seen the show twice.
Personally it's a difficult one, but I would say: Elphabas 1) Rachel Tucker 2) Willemijn Verkaik
Glindas 1) Louise Dearman 2) Alli Mauzey
Rachel and Louise introduced the show to me so I think in a way it will be hard to top their performances though, so I am a little biased.

I feel the same with Alexia Khadime, I know she wasn't everyone's cup of tea and whilst she's not one of favourites in the role I will have a special association with her being my first Elphie. I saw the show four times in quick succession after my first foray into Oz!

See Louise Dearman and Nikki Davis Jones were my first ever Elphaba and Glinda, and whilst Louise has never really left my top three, gradually Nikki has gone lower on my list. Maybe I need to see her again if she ever does it, but I think she didn't do anything particularly memorable or over the years her performsnde has just fallen to the wayside. Until this year, it was Louise Dearman was my favourite ever Elphaba. ... but then, Rachel Tucker. Enough said.

Hasn't Nikki damaged her voice permanently during her run as Elphaba in the first UK tour? If so, it'd be a shame.
I only ever saw her as Elphaba, in Lift and as Maureen in the Rent tour in 2012 (?) (the one where Kerry Ellis was miscast as Mimi).

The reasons for her leaving the production were very ambiguously worded, with the company stating "we look forward to working with Nikki in future." I talked to a few cast members about the matter in passing, and the way they spoke about it seemed as though Nikki did seem to have an opportunity at recovering. Although she will probably never play Elphaba again, I do believe she can still sing, I just doubt she could do so at a musical theatre, eight shows a week capacity.
Nikki is my second favourite Elphaba and was certainly a force to be reckoned with on tour. I would love to see her back on stage in any capacity and I wish her all the best in doing so!

I was thinking about Rachel's last next weekend- so excited!!
Got me thinking though, does anyone have a favourite "last" performance, specifically DG?
The only one I've seen live was the first cast change of the UK tour, but from youtube trawling I love Rachel's last (the first time!), Alexia's and Danna Paola's.
Can't beat an emotional, give-it-all-you-got final Defying Gravity!!

My favourite last show was Kerry's last in 2009.
I was new to Wicked and could not believe what I was seeing and the incredible outpouring of emotion in the audience. It's still my most listened to show audios and cannot be topped in my opinion.
Though I very rarely listen to DG at all. It's all No Good Deed for me.

Because I was there, Louise and Gina's last will forever have a special place in my heart. Hugely emotional For Good, incredible solos from both, and a hugely powerful Defying Gravity that really earned the standing ovation! I was at front stalls and the audience was mental, with deafening applause and screams! A guy had Wicked shaved into the back of his head, Wicked tattoos and shirts everywhere, people painted green, it was an amazing night!

Louise's last Elphaba show is one I missed on purpose as I don't rate her Elphaba at all. Personally, I thought she struggled with all the big songs and I was grimacing with pain.

Oh it was amazing, she has such a powerful voice! I think she struggled toward the end of Defying Gravity toward the end because she was really going for it, but with the audience, and the whole cast, it felt like a real event to be at!
