I hope she goes for something fun. As said above, Express Yourself would be a great one to do.

She's admirably unsentimental about her old material though. Which suits me. Rebel Heart is a nice uptempo number, I'd be happy with that.

Considering that something like 180 million people watch Eurovision, shouldn't Madonna be paying the EBU, rather than the other way around? I read acts now have to pay to perform at the Superbowl half time. Although one million dollars seems cheap for Madonna to perform at an event.
If the show is live, she is likely to do something outrageous. I think. Maybe start the show wearing a Hijab.

And sing Like A Prayer.

Is that a slice of fruit or a big chunky chip shop chip?

Oh God. This collaboration is not something we need.

Oh God. This collaboration is not something we need. Having now heard it, I have to agree. It'd be bad enough as a 4th or 5th single or an album track. It's the lead single. It's the music equivalent of a piece of candyfloss that's fallen off the stick, only it's less interesting. If she performs this at Eurovision it'll likely compare badly to most of the entries.

Madonna now confirmed, doing Like A Prayer and new track Futures featuring some sodding rapper or other - Quaver, Quiver or something. Why does she have to keep yanking these mumblers in for cringey collaborations.

Well after watching both semis, along with excerpts from those countries with a free pass, I am largely underwhelmed this year. It's a long evening to start with, but I suspect it is going to feel even longer this year.
I'm off to the shops later to buy the strongest beer I can find!

I am glad I am not the only person who thinks this is not a great year in terms of the quality of songs.
Having also watched the semi finals, I probably like Switzerland the most in terms of an upbeat number that I can imagine hearing again. My favourite ballad is certainly from North Macedonia - simple, sincere and heartfelt with strong (but not overpowering) message.
I still think the Netherlands is riding on the coat tails of a video that captured attention by having a naked man swimming across the screen. The stage version is very dull. He can sing, the song is ok - but without the video it is nothing amazing.
I have no idea why anyone is liking Iceland. Utterly baffling.
I also have no idea why Australia has suddenly risen to 2nd favourite with the bookies. The staging is eye-catching but the music is limited in appeal. And the live CGI effects are embarrassingly weak.
I have a bottle of Caramel Apple Gin ready for the night...

I thought the 1st semi was absolutely dire but the 2nd semi was marginally better. Sweden is my favourite as it kind of fits in with the old poppy Eurovision image. Far too many dreary ballads these days. The evening was made tolerable by Mans popping up twice during the show and apparently is is doing a bit in the final too. And what can I say about the 4 hosts? Well nothing actually.

To watch or not to watch...
Last year I thought I'd give it a try for half an hour or so expecting that I'd give up fairly quickly, and then somehow I got hooked and was still there at the end.

Will hot-foot it from the cup final to get home to enjoy the camperies of Eurovision. Two very different events - but will be eating canapés at both 😀😀

No outstanding songs this year, but Switzerland, Italy and Azerbaijan seem to be the best of those on offer. Can't see the appeal of the Dutch song at all, and the best the Brits could come up with is a song co-written by the Swedish contestant, but ditched for something stronger before the Swedish heats! Typical.

my top picks this year are Norway, Sweden, North Macedonia and Israel.
Special mention to Czech Republic because Friend of a friend of a friend of a friend is too damn catchy!

Liking Sweden so far!
Cyprus seems like a direct copy of last year's Fuego? Just different lyrics, strange

Sweden is my favourite followed by Norway. Even quite liked Czech Republic. But Iceland has given me earache.

I quite liked Iceland, very bold. Denmark was quite nice. As was the singer, and oh my her redhead friend. The creepy couple gazing at each other, that was good.
