1st Semi Final tonight
I believe Cyprus and Israel are both favoutites to win this year and both are on tonight. I've not heard any songs apart from ours this yeaar and lookimg forward to seeing some classic Eurovision songs and gimmicks

I love Eurovision, it always marks the beginning of the summer for me! Unusually for me, I’ve not heard many of the songs yet so it’ll be my first listen during tonight’s semi.

I forgot this started today. I'll just watch the final anyway. Haven't heard any song (well, only the Spanish one, and there's no way we are gonna win) or read anything, so I have no idea who are the favourites to win.

I don’t watch the heats, the final is enough of a commitment. Would have loved to be in beautiful Lisbon for it though.
I gather Mel Giedroyc got dropped from the bbc coverage in favour of Rylan Clarke?

Agreed, a perfect excuse for a trip to Lisbon. Wish I'd made more effort to go!
Must go back to Eurovision one day, definitely one of the most fun things I've ever done.

I think they have made a big mistake with the set design. The dropping of video screens has meant that everything is just lights, lights and more lights. Puts the focus more on the song and the performers - but that doesn't always help.
Visually all very dull. Shame - but it is not a great year for the quality - I really am not rooting for any of the songs (and I normally have 2 or 3 favourites)
I do have one song that it really don't want to win.

The app is fun as it tells you a bit about each performer and some of them are very badly written bios.
Agree Rylan better then Mel.
Dull as dishwater so far. We need some Eurovision cheese.

Overall I thought it was a bit dull. not many great ones in there for me. not convinced it was the best semi final as Scott Mills kept saying.

Dull. One boring ballad after another. Awful staging. No one can predict who will go through as they are all pretty awful.

Did anyone think Ireland's song had a hint of Dear Evan Hansen about it?
The hosts are pretty dire as well.
They should let Petra and Mans from Sweden compare it whatever country it's from.
