That is cheeky, luckily the only show I've used it for recently with rush tickets often releases the best seats hours after 10:00. I agree that getting rid of the restriction of getting to the ticket selection page till 10 seems a logical thing to do. It's very mean for shows where there really are just a very limited number of seats. I updated todaytix yesterday (it made me) and it was nice to see that you no longer have the drop down menu to select one ticket. At least that is an improvement, now they just have to sort the cheat out. I also don't understand about the cheat but have never yet succeded with any Todaytix rush. Really glad, though, to know they've stopped making 2 tix the default as I've mentioned this every time I've done one of their surveys and have also emailed them about it - so offensive and time-wasting for those wanting 1 ticket.

Which show releases better tickets later on? Some shows which aren't selling that well seem to use the rush tickets for "stealth discounting" so more tickets appear later in the day. Night of the Iguana was doing this when I booked a few weeks ago, also Waitress I think was at one point. Best way to tell if this is happening is to look at a show you are interested in on a day you don't want to see it, at about 11:00 to see if there are still rush tickets available.

I just asked my husband about this (he’s a technologist) and he has a suggestion for another work around. I don’t know if it will work and I am not going to post it in a public forum, but PM me if you are interested.
Caveat is that he hasn’t looked at the app, his suggestion is based solely off my explanation of the loophole that is being exploited, so he might not be correct.

This is all very interesting. I always thought that the time was taken from the ticketing company's server. If they say it is 10am, then it is 10am, regardless of the device you are using. I wonder how it ties in with something I notice on "Q-IT" in general for the National and others. That is that if I have multiple browsers on several devices, it allocates each browser place in the queue over a period of around a minute - often beginning at least 20 seconds or more before 10am. If I were to mess with my computer's clock, I wonder what the result might be. now, that is an IDEA! I always end up 3000 plus in the queue

That's pretty much what I was going to say. Have a look even later in the afternoon too as research. Of course it also depends on what you call a good seat. Also for shows that just have a set amount and they are always the same ones then they are unlikely to offer other seats later in the day but for the ones that sell random single seats off as a way of filling the theatre then there's a chance any time of day really until the cut off time for rush, which I think is either an hour and a half or two hours before the performance (have forgotten exactly when it is but I did know once, not using todaytix all that much at the moment, too busy with work to go to the theatre).

Disclaimer: I don't want tickets, I've already got the cheap £19.50 back stall tickets, I am just researching the "cheat".
I set the time in my phone 1 min forward and indeed I got 1 step further in the process. However I still couldn't get tickets because as soon as the todaytix server released the tickets they were already unavailable. Basically it's hard to predict when to click on the "2" as it needs to be spot on the time the tickets are released.
I tried it over 2 days.

Not actually TodayTix, but I saw on Twitter that the SiX box office have said, from now on, the card holder has to be present to collect tickets (both rush and normal tickets according to the person who posted) I'm thinking this might be connected with the rush cheating, but don't know?

New rules have been announced on TodayTix that you can only win rush tickets once a month and have to present photo ID at the Box Office when collected. That’ll hopefully make it easier for everyone else and stop the actors asking the fan kids to get them tickets.

Yep, looks like it’s just for Six. Do you think this rule might be extended to other shows, I hope not lol! Wicked rush said there’s only 12 tickets but I think they’re selling mitre because there’s always single seats available after ten! I think the daily dozen is such a good feature because wicked prices in the holidays are so so high!

The is based around Six fans abusing the system, so hopefully it only applies to Six and they don’t extend it.

Unless it's anything like the Victoria Palace, there's still no stopping those who collect their tickets and step outside to pass it on. At least TodayTix have taken preventative measures, and I do hope the once a month limit is restricted to Six - or a single show - only.

Crazy looking at all the dramatic tweets. All the “fans” are upset that they can’t get rush more than once a month. Seriously, they should just do a lotto, I believe there are only 6 seats though?

Yes, only six. But it's two rush tickets you can have a month, they could always try for one ticket, then could (if successful) get rush twice a month. Big fuss about nothing!

Is that once per show or once for anything?
Edit: Oh, missed a whole page!

Everything was 'gone' as soon as the rush went live, but single tickets did keep popping up over the next 20 minutes or so, before being snapped up again. I imagine the "more tickets..." message stays until all transactions have actually been completed.

I imagine the "more tickets..." message stays until all transactions have actually been completed. Another thing which might affect this is people just popping in to see what's available. The week before I grab rush tickets I'll normally take a look on 2-3 mornings and see what kind of tickets are available - helps me decide if I want to take the risk or book in advance. And of course when I release what it found, they're back available again.

It's the same names you see time and again when problems at shows are discussed.
The old Heathers lot.
Well done Six and Today Tix, this show is not the personal property of a few.
