TT really should sort this out. The lotteries with very few seats have become impossible due to people doing this. So greedy.

I don't understand how changing the time on my phone makes it easier to get rush tickets at 10am. Please share..

You change the time to 10:01 so you're one page ahead of anyone trying to get rush at 10am. Doing the 'cheat' means you're already on the page that asks you which performance you'd like to attend, and how many tickets you'd like, and then you wait until it's *actually* 10am and you'll be one click ahead of everyone else, as you can select 1/2 tickets straight away. Does that make sense? |

But practically every day (sometimes for both matinee and evening show) is totally out of order (also REALLY odd and obsessive!) |

You change your phone's time to 10:01, which makes TodayTix think it's past 10 and you can view the next Rush screen. You can't get tickets until its officially 10am, hence why you wait and watch for it to actually be 10am, and then you click how many seats you want, and you're likely then able to get tickets before anyone else cause you'll be on the screen that offers you tickets, while everyone else is still clicking for the performance time/number of tickets |

I presume the TodayTix app has a timer that lets you proceed to the rush booking page at 10:00, which is when tickets become available on the server. The app will look at your phones local time to see when it is 10am, thus if you set your phone to 10:01 the app will let you into the booking page so that at 10am GMT proper you can buy from the allocation. |

When did theatre fans become so entitled and think these shows are their own personal property? It's disgusting that people consider themselves in the elite by going through this special little cheat, only allowing a few of their chosen lessers to come into the circle of privileged knowledge. And worse is the "I have the power to get someone some tickets" approach. Nasty people. |

It's that simple. They'd have got away with it too, but they just can't help themselves with the "I know something you don't know" bragging. I really want to see Six but the behaviour of the minority of their fans is really putting me off. |

They could easily stop people doing multiple rush bookings - eg only allow one a week, or one a month for each show - they already force you to redo the "I've just unlocked ..." tweet if you want to book more than once for a show. I guess its up to the theatre box offices whether they want to ask for ID or a card when picking up tickets (I've never been asked for proof of who I am for a todaytix booking)
And of course they have been happy to ban users for other reasons in the past.

With this though it must be a pretty easy fix - just give everyone access to that page before the tickets go on sale. I still think a sort of “virtual queue” would be the best way to operate the rush policy.

Sort of like how the national theatre and the likes do their rush where you join the queue from say 13:00-13:02, assigned a random number and then given the opportunity to buy. With such a limited number of tickets on the rush it would make sense. ETA: or just do a lottery if it’s that popular and the same people are getting it every time. |

The easiest fix would be to switch to a lottery system rather than Rush for certain shows until the flaw is fixed.

I agree that getting rid of the restriction of getting to the ticket selection page till 10 seems a logical thing to do. It's very mean for shows where there really are just a very limited number of seats.
I updated todaytix yesterday (it made me) and it was nice to see that you no longer have the drop down menu to select one ticket. At least that is an improvement, now they just have to sort the cheat out.
