I think it would probably end up going to somewhere like the Prince Edward if the earliest it will come to London will be 2020 rather than the large theatres suggested above i.e. Palladium, Dury Lane, Dominion, Apollo Victoria. By then Aladdin would have been running 4 years (if it stays for that long!) and I doubt Disney would have three things on at the same time in London - and I doubt they'd be getting rid of The Lion King!

On the other hand.. How long is the Frozen madness going on? 2020 is 4 years.. It probably will be far less popular in 4 years time. (although Im so not gonna miss this, haha!) Dreamcast Celinde Schoenmaker as Elsa Carrie H Fletcher as Anna Havent thought yet about the other roles. There are other roles??

One question is how they handle Olaf - there are three obvious methods. One, pantomime horse it (in a snowsuit); Two, puppet it (Simon Lipkin will be looking for a gig in a few years time); Three, projection/animation - if the RSC are doing similar for The Tempest this winter it's not implausible Disney are thinking along similar lines.
Those three methods increase in complexity and effectiveness - although the aforementioned Kenwright version will surely be a literal pantomime horse for cheapness.

Yes - I just got an email about it too. What are the bets of them installing Idina Menzel for the opening run? I know she's significantly older than Elsa is meant to be but.. Disney. I don't think even Disney could get away with that. I don't think Menzel could get away with that, vocally that is.

Dream casting for west end..? Sabrina Aloueche for Elsa. She looks still young enough, but has the voice to sing the part. Had to buy a ticket for Canterbury panto because Sabrina was in it , and that was the year much of the WE top female talent was singing Let it Go in panto. Sabrina sounds great singing it. Amy Lennox has the look and hair though, looks like she could play any age from 18 -30, and she was mightily impressive singing it in Wimbledon the same year. She can really belt too. And there's also Carrie and I would love to hear Katie Hall sing it.

I see Katie Hall more as a potential Anna, but I'm happily proven wrong

Carrie Hope Fletcher is working with Disney on youtube lately so... I won't say that she'll probably be in the cast but I think she is on pole position.

Maria Coyne (cover Glinda Wicked 2015) and Sabrina Aloueche do a smacking job here tbh, really spot on!

OK I will admit I am going off-topic but it is connected to Disney and we no longer have the Off-West End section but I finally got around to seeing a production at 'Arts Educational School' in Chiswick last night and it was a glorious production of 'Beauty and the Beast'.
I have seen this on the West-End and on Broadway but last night the whole production (from the choreography, direction and performance) out-shown those productions. I was in awe on the clever uses of staging and direction when a production does not have half the budget a big professional show does, it was also free to be less Disney ('Gaston' had lot more adult themes going on with the ensemble in the tavern. 'Gaston', 'Be Our Guest' and 'Human Again' were the big highlights. It will certainly be a theatre highlight of 2016 for me.
I really hope they snap on the rights for 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame'.
Anyways back to 'Frozen';-)

Betsy Wolfe (Drood revival, Bullets Over Broadway, Last Five Years revival, Side Show revival workshop, Everyday Rapture) is cast as Elphaba, I mean Elsa.

That link made me think that Diane Kruger got the part. How dare you frighten me like that.

The St. James rumor was floating around, but I didn't realize it was official either.
I can't wait to see how the FREEDOM OF DISCUSSION unfolds. Hahahaha!

For anyone interested, here are some highlights from the new Frozen show that replaced Aladdin (which was there for 13 years!) at the Hyperion Theater in Disneyland California which opened yesterday I believe. Maybe the musical will be inspired from it? But then again, the Aladdin musical doesn't look like it was inspired that much from the Disneyland show.

I like the way they do Olaf and Sven. Not keen on the changes to the words.

I like the way they do Olaf and Sven. Not keen on the changes to the words. So it seems as if Simon Lipkin was set to play Olaf once Frozen transfers to the West End (which it surely will)
