But the video is not filmed as such, and if you remove this little bit, it sounds like an everyday pop song. The back up just seems to random out of context and does not make it a better song. |

Act one just finished. Nobody has anything to worry about with Let It Go. The projections are amazing, there are several curtains she magically manipulated as well as an ice curtain that frames some of the castle she’s created (through projection). There are a ton of effects and the projections throughout work incredibly well and are very precise. What a vocal as well!

I was also there last night, and generally agree with Dan. Let it go was amazing, although I suppose it could have been more visually spectacular. It’s certainly no flying carpet in Aladdin. But Caissie Levy sang and acted the hell out of it, the projections and curtains really did look great and the audience was not at all disappointed, roaring its approval.
Generally I enjoyed it, but it does what it says on the tin, it’s a slick Disney production. The acting saved it. Patti Murin as Anna is phenomenal, not the world’s strongest belt but she sells the role incredibly well. Caissie is stupendous, both singing and acting-wise, and she has two big numbers in Let it Go and Monster, but it’s Anna’s story, really. Story-wise, Hans’s motivation for acting as he did was really not explained, but you kind of have to run with it. Act 2 was ok, but the world-building in Act 1 was preferable for me.

so its not having a chance of a tony nom It never did. Why should it anyway? Ice castle or not..this is an amusement park musical and a cash cow, with little contribution to theatre or any art form. It's pure entertainment for children and basic adults. (PS-I have a ticket). |

I never see anything not well received. I loved fun home. And saw it instead of Aladdin. Glad the worlds best theatre ' Public' is killing it. Aladdin got a tony nom. Was hoping for it to get one for best musical. I am NOW expecting . Lord B to trash the show |

Lion King is great spectacle with clever staging but it not a great score. Too much filler and not enough meat. A good night out but not a fully rounded piece of musical theatre. Without the puppets and Pride Rock, it would be pretty pedestrian.

For me, aside from Mary Poppins, this was the best stage adaptation Disney has done from its own movies.

I’ve been reading on the Broadway world and no one is saying it is amazing sadly. I haven’t read one rave. A decent show maybe but many seem to have issues with set, direction, new songs, Olaf, the sauna song for opening of act 2, the age of the leads, the lack of effects and general creativity and wow factor. It will run and run but really I think it’s just going to get 3/4 stars. It deserves to be so much better.... Shame. I’m happy to be proved wrong - I’m seeing it in November.

Lion King is good for the opening number, Aladdin is high-grade pantomime, Beauty and the Beast insulted my intelligence and Little Mermaid was wrong in all possible ways. The bar is not that high with Disney on Broadway. |

Well I loved Newsies and Aida. Plus Mary Poppins was great so yes. Even Lion King, though not my favourite is visually stunning and has wonderful music and puppetry.
